@illuminaz1 Firstly, the SCO is not like NATO. They are not obligated to defend each other. Especially because Russia and China have historically been at odds, there is significant distrust within the SCO.

Secondly, I say again, our air power. We can project it from Japan, and no country can compete with it. The only hope would be RU S-300 and S-400s and even then, I highly doubt Russia would want to part with the S-400s. (too advanced ) SA missiles are also only marginally effective.

@illuminaz1 Because OIF is not a major power conflict (you need more than one great power). Great power conflicts will be conducted differently. No argument that in 10 years China will be significantly stronger, I'm talking about if a conflict happened tomorrow. There'd be no scandal-- we could just claim preemptive defense of taiwan or something and the rest of the world would shrug and say "well, they warned 'em"
