  • The look of the crowd on this video was the same at Birmingham many years ago, only a few hundred but it was no different he gave us a night we never forgotten. The best he asked and played what we wanted,at the end he jumped of the stage and thanked us to turn up.

  • Artista completo...

  • The SHERIFF of Rock'n'Roll Lays down the Law with the most ULTIMATE Rhythm of all time!

  • Awesome. Bo did punk guitar workouts that stand up today.

'Bo Diddley' the song is one of the greatest two-and-some minutes slice of pop energy of all time.

What a shame that he never got the money due to him from all the ripoffs (yes, you, Jagger/Richards).

    RIP great man.

Check him doing Hollywood A Go Go 1965 on youtube and be blown away.

  • I only started watching these Bo Diddly videos today and I am finding them VERY impressive!! I got the (as the title suggests) Bodiddleyitis:) Yeah, Jimi was obviously influenced by him, and even vice versa I'm sure (and we all still ARE by both), so they were BOTH just flippin' marvellous :) Jimi did have sounds in his head that he mimicked on his guitar, which is impressive too, and you can tell that by the faces he pulls :p Bo was the original though :)

  • Incredible clip. Of those old time rockers, no one does it better than Bo.

  • Bo learned a lot from Hendricks lol...this is insane

  • @charemaine Um, honey—other way around.

  • Wow!! Bo'str really knows how to do a split!! and what kind of Fender amps is he using? Those rock!

  • Wild. Thanks FREDVS, any more?

  • Thanks FREDVS, any more?

  • Bo Diddley rules!!!

  • What year is this? Awesome stuff!

  • punk as fuck

  • Yeah! Dig it!

  • Sweet, this is one BMF.

  • This is my favourite Bo song-what a player, thanks for posting fredvs

  • shit! Bo Diddley is TEARING IT UP!

  • Quite right fredvs. The guy was phenomenal. I saw him in Cardiff I think it was 1961 where he plucked a note on his `oblong` guitar put it down and went across the stage for a glass of water came back and the note was still playing. Unbelievable concert followed.

  • when he plays and leads a band, there are moments when it feels like you're sitting in some sports car as it shifts to a higher gear... zoooooom, you shoot forward wide-eyed, exhilarated and pressed back into your seat... ;)

  • Bodiddleyitis - haha - it certainly is contageous

  • i wouldn't necessarily call those "chords" he's playing below the bridge, but still pretty fuckin awesome!

  • FUCKIN' GREAT!

  • When and where is this perdformance from? Yeaa...Bo is/was great. I met him in peson in Hard Rock Café, Stockholm in the '90s. It happened he was sitting at a table close to mine and had a meal before his performance. I talked to him a little. Very nice man. Real great to have the opportunity to just meet him that unexpectable. RIP

  • Bo and THe Bobby Comstock Band. They teamed up many ,many times. Bob is a long time friend and these shows were fantastic.

  • The baddest of the baddest! RIP Beautiful Big Bad Bo!

  • Bo was all about rhythm. He picked the strings behind the bridge for a percussive effect.

  • Bo put the UNK in FUNK... he was the granddaddy of it all...

  • Awesome. Once again Bo Diddley proves that it's not how many chords you play, it's how you use them!

  • ive got bodiddleyitis

  • I saw a fb 10 minute version of this back in the early 70s. This guy is highly underrated. His rocking jams hold up with any R&R or R&B band. His old stuff always sounds contempoarary and relevant.

  • this sounds like fuckin' heaven

  • Testify!

  • Wow!!

  • @fredvs ,

Where did you come across that video? I am the bass man. FYI the Fender amps were rented but I off loaded my Marshall stack because it looked like my rental wasn't going to cut it.. We did at least a hundred of those gigs with Bo over the years. He was a good friend, and I know I can speak for the others in the video, we all miss him.

  • @jwc21re It must be absolutely awesome to be able to say you've played with one of the greatest musicians of all time. Count yourself fortunate my dear!! Thumbs up to you!

  • @jwc21re What was the name of your band? Can you give us more info about this particular gig?

  • @Zepster77 It was the Bobby Comstock Band. We were the back up band for Richard Naders Rock&Roll Revival Show 1969/89. Bo and Bob had been friends for a long time. When we weren't on the road with the show we would do other venues with Chuck Berry or Bo. The clip is a "warm up" before the official taping of the premier episode of Don Kirshners In Concert series. Others that night, Chuck Berry (whom we also backed up), Poco, Almond Bros., Seals&Croft, Curtis Mayfield and Alice Cooper.

  • See you on the other side, Bo - ROCK ON!

  • Wonderful
