  • @DannyRocksExcels hi danny , im plannign to go for a course in excel . its called advanced excel where they teach you formulas , s look ups , v look ups , creatings pivots etc. now i only know the basics of excel . i dont know head or tale of formulas . how easy is it to grasp all this ?

  • You do this in the "Group Field By" dialog box. There you can decide the "Frequency Distribution" for your Pivot Table. E.g. Start at - 2 and Group by 10.

Search my website - thecompanyrocks. - for a video that I created. Use the Keyword Frequeny in the search box.

  • Let's say I have a list of 'ages' in my table. I add the 'ages' to my report filter but the report filter only shows the ages individually as they appear in the table. I want the report filter to show the ages in ranges instead, for example: 20-29, 30-39,....etc instead of individual values. How do I do this? Please help!

  • Thank you

  • @yourahova

  • HAHAHAAHAAH

  • never thought pivot tables were so easy !! thanks big time

  • @ozgursavas1

My pleasure. Yes, Pivot tables are really easy to create and modify. Many people, however, are reluctant to experiment with them. It is hard to believe that something as powerful as a Pivot Table could be so easy to create.

    Enjoy your new knowledge.

  • how do i add new data to the pivot table?

  • Tony

You can not add data directly to a Pivot Table.

Rather, add the data (rows and / or columns) to your source data worksheet. Then:

On the Pivot Table Toolbar choose Pivot Table Wizard. Go BACK to step 2 and choose the new range of data. Finish.

Finally, you will need to REFRESH your Pivot Table to update the data.

Sometimes, it is just easier to restart and create a new Pivot Table.
