@npiperides thats great! as long as your following the program right you should definately be able too, all you need is maybe 6 inches, or wrist at the rim. im starting my own program, im only 5' 7" with a 7' 2" reach, and im grabbing it easy even after workouts. keep me posted with your results!
@npiperides so, drop step you have a 26" vert. and running, maybe adds 5" by the sounds of it so 31"? yeah, if your 2 ft take off is slowing, it doesnt mean your losing vert, your just more of a power jumper than a plyometric jumper. but yeah, make a video of you jumping! .. also, jumping from hard ground, like a concrete court is giving you a true vertical jump

I touched running with a 1 foot take off touched the rim where the joints connecting my fingers to palm are ( the horizontal lines, if u know what i mean) My 2 step takeoff has always been much lower than my 1 foot takeoff. Ive only been playing for 1 yr and had no training before then. I dont know where to jump or how to jump (no technique:( ill make vid start week 5
@npiperides yeh, everyones different, im a 2 foot jumper because i learned to jump in volleyball. search some videos on jumping technique, they are actually wicked useful if your trying to perfect your 1 foot jump or learning 2 foot!
Hey if any1 could answer this question it would help SO much...im on a football workout program with my team(better faster stronger) and i work out 3 days a week...would it be bad to do air alert along with the workout with my team...?and will it stop growth at all? Im a sophmore and might be able to gain a few more inches before my growth stops so i dont want to stop that..thanks
@bckts im involved with the same program. That would be a preferance. I do BFS and plyometrics and my body can keep up with it, if you are worried about growth dont bulk up too much but be athletic and explosive. Talk to your coach and see what they think. Im a junior and 5' 7 but I dont think ill grow much more if at all. The only way to know for sure is to actually try both.
This program works,i wen't from touching the rim 2 grabbing the rim in just a month but if you don't stretch and warm up your knees will suffer a lot.I stoped because of my kneease and started all over againe after 2 years of not doing it. But dease time i am strecthing and warming up for like 30 min. and no pain plus i have basketball practice almost every day.

@RussianFlight I did the program last year, I went from touching rim to getting almost my elbow above the rim. Dont do the burnouts workout because its a waste of time and it doesnt help you at all.

most likely you'll get an inch or two on your recovery week, possibly more. I've never done it, but I've looked at it and there's been complaints of high volume. many people even got injured. also if you got air alert for free i'm sure you can get vertical jump bible or even jump manual/vert freak for free. if not i got a link.. pm if u want it.
@Palden21 with any jump workout do two days in a row of real tough exercises like sprints, squats, lunges and plyos REST FOR 2 WEEKS stretch every day that you rest, your vertical will skyrocket. Trust me I can dunk and I'm 5'10 and I never even have time to ball anymore.
@BreatheCreativity Great way of giving an opinion as if it were a fact. Losing weight does not mean you are going to increase your vertical jump unless you incorporated exercises and routines which work on it.
Oh really, losing weight doesn't increase your vertical jump? Wear a 50lbs. vest and then see how high you jump.. then take it off. You're going to increase your vert if you lose weight. You don't have to always do exercises and routines that directly affect your vertical. Sometimes it might just be that you're tugging a lot of fat around your belly.

@Slamwoo93 personally Im 10 weeks into it. My knees would hurt a little after the exercises but then I started doing them on grass rather then concrete and they dont hurt anymore. not too sure of the results on concrete vs the ground though.

im 5'11 and just got on airalert. i can loose rougly 15 killos max and then id be so ripped. Im in week 3 of air alert and ive only seen 1 inch .
From day 1 i was an inch from touching the rim.
Im getting heaps frustrated, the workouts are so intense i sumtimes vomit lol.

starting week 4 tomorow, my cardio is great. i used to play representative football and i did track n field.
I just somestimes find it hard on my legs. ie( recovery and muscle soreness)
I did a session yesterday and i iced my legs. That seems the way to go. Ive only seen a 1 inch improv in 3 weeks.

When i run off one foot i can touch the ring with the end of the joints of my fingers ( the lines where the palm connects with every finger.
My problem is i suck at 2 feet approach, i slow down to much on my approach.

Dude, I think the reason it really worked is because of all the weight you lost dude...
Here's a general rule of thumb for how much losing weight will do for you.
5 lbs = ~1 inch increase in vertical.
so you lost about 50 lbs.. that would increase to about more than 10 inches..

I tried air alert but I only gained a couple inches.My theory is that if you've done some vertical training before, air alert won't work as well.My best bet would be the "jump manual".It's more in-depth and gives you more options.Beginner or with previous vert training it'll work 10x better than air alert.I'm only on week 3 and I've already gained like 6 inches.Here's the link: tinyurl!com/26oyzjk...i hope that helps!!! =) p.s. when im done with the program i'll try and post a vid asap

I finished air alert 3,started with barely touching the rim,ended up with just touching the rim.I done everything properly,so much time and sweat,no results.AA3 does not work for me. I will try Jump Manual,any tryed? I dont want to waste time anymore.

Hi, im 14, soon 15 and are 5.9 foot tall, and weights 74 kilos/163 pounds. Im wondering about using this on monday, to october. Then it has been 15 weeks, i can touch the rim when running, and i am about 5-10 cm from touching the rim when standing. Im training 5 days a week 11 on the morning, to about 2-3. Can i still train while using the program? Sorry for bad english, i live in sweden so its pretty bad:D Answer as soon as you can please ;)

Im at 9th week or aa3 , gained some inches , at week 7 needed less than 1 inch to touch rim, now i need alot more..
If i complete all the 15 weeks, will i be close to dunking?
Btw is it a problem if sometimes between the leapups i wait a lil more than 2 mins before the sets?

I just started my AA two weeks ago starting week 3 on tues, cant wait till i get that final week, im already seeing results after 1 week. but i did lift waits and did cardio before i even started the program, i lost about 40 pounds.

i have a question bout aa3. the exercicses (spelling) should be done monday, wednesday, friday, without the squat hops (only wedn) do i choose on which days i do the other exercises? should i split into 3? should i do every1 same day? should i do it on same time every week? Thanks.

It's possible, but no guarantees. I guess it depends on how trained your muscles are now, but it should give some height to your jump.

@Slamwoo93 personally Im 10 weeks into it. My knees would hurt a little after the exercises but then I started doing them on grass rather then concrete and they dont hurt anymore. not too sure of the results on concrete vs the ground though.

@basketballball23 im in the same possition u are in except i have about 7 months to do it in. ne ways after the first week of me doin aa3 i gained 2 inches on my vert. my vert was 34'' now its 36'' and my goal is 42'' by the next bball season

i think maybe i should try this im 16 6'5 and i can dunk 2 hands with ease but damn i rekon i could be like windmilling and shit at the end of this and im dunking with NO training closest thing to training i have done is like wear ankle weights like once every 2 weeks 1lbs each and i weigh 75KG so roughly id say bout 160lbs
