It used to be that the phrase "making love" meant something closer to "making out" (just kissing) than sexual intercourse. That's why the phrase is used here, and elsewhere in television and popular songs. At some point, probably in the 70s or so, the phrase went from a pretty innocent meaning to what we think of today.
remember kids, there is nothing more fun than being huged by someone you like. but if someone trys to touch you in a place or in a way that mkes you feel uncomfortable, thats no good.
It's mostly comical for sure. Now imagine what your kids are watching today for cartoons. nothing like yesteryear while this may seem a bit aggressive its harmless. There not blowing up planets using nuclear warheads looking like zombies etc
@YashaWhiteTiger Not in a million years. Cats are felids, skuns are part of the weasel family, like otters or ferrets... Shut the fuck up when you don't know something.
I STAND CORRECTED, AND DON'T TELL ME TO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!! I BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW EITHER YOU JUST LOOKED IT UP ON THE WIKI, YOU THE STUPID ONE NOT ME!!!!!!!!!! SO YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!
@YashaWhiteTiger Haha, you're such a douche. Nobody but you needs to check wikipedia to know that a skunk and a cat are ot the same thing at all, moron.

Creepy. I wonder, did our parents ever watch the cartoons we were watching before we watched them? "Mommy, what is 'making love'? Mommy, why is he chasing and harassing her all the time? Why is she running away? Why is she scared? Why is he speaking in French?!" I don't mind the French part. I know he's clueless... but that doesn't make it right for children's cartoons! Family Guy, yes. Kids' cartoons, not so much. There's actually nothing funny about this dynamic.
@mecagoenboba Well back when kids watched this even if they heard the term "Making love?" They most likely wouldnt even ask, they would just watch the show and laugh.

The "making love" bits went right over my head as a kid, just sort of lost in Pepe's ramblings. I love it all the more now, just how unsubtle he is.

How come most of the Looney Tunes characters have different stereotype ways of talking?
sMCCarthyTV1 7 months ago
@sMCCarthyTV1 B/c Looney Tunes was created in a time when stereotypes were a more acceptable way to describe someone.

@mecagoenboba Funny thing is, the first Looney cartoons were more aimed towards an older or general audience. Not specifically for kids.
