more respect. it's a job where you don't get tips, like doctors / mechanics... do and still.. you must know a sh*t load of stuff that are constantly changing or updating.
For every dump we encountered, for every bug we fixed, we were working together to meet the requirements... The pride and honor that we fullfill for every program we deliver as our masterpiece. I respect you my fellow DEVELOPERS!!!!... :)

Dude, nowadays the real money is at DB and VM setup/administration and those jobs aren't as fucked up as developing is... My respects for those hard men and women who chose this hard path in their lives...
This is just ridiculous but a fact of IT industry. Talk about consultants, they rob the client of their budget. But if client is big and rich, then the client rarely cares about the money spend on the project and often lose the track of the progress made. I was a consultant once for a while and I was hardly given any work. Their utilization of me was around 40% or less while they paid me a healthy hourly rate. And after that, they just rolled me off without job done!
I'm a developer and I reckon there were too many lost souls infront of the computers in the 90's. These days the work is pretty much stream lined as any other profession that's out there. People should know how to divert some time to their life and work.
Most people who feel sad should get out and do something, not just sit and expect sympathy.
And more over, don't get too excited by new software cas in anytime soon, it will be old and so would you be.
I know this was supposed to be funny but in fact its the absolute truth. I'm not a developer myself but i am friends with a few very well trained code developers and have another one in the family who happens to be contracted to Microsoft. you would not believe the horror story's i get from them about this exact subject matter
P.S. I know this video is supposed to be a joke, but from the point of a highly educated but low-income person (Ph.D. canddiate making low pay) this isn't all that humorous.
Oh boo hoo indeed. With all that money you're making I cry for thee...yeah. Trying making less than $18,000 a year and see if you prefer that instead.

You developers are all the same. About time some of those boards had some proactive Dilbert style actions on them for sorting the problem not telling everyone again what they are...
We have a joke at our company that we call the eUncertainty Principle: The more you look at, and code the requirements, the more the requirements change...
