@lildolphin111 Gosh. I wrote this 2 years ago. I know that it took me a while to find an actual case where a person died directly from 2nd hand smoke exposure. I used google and kept looking until I found something but I can't remember where exactly I found that one. I also don't have my copy anymore that had all of my references on it. That computer died last summer. :(

Like you said ammonia is just as dangerous, Why punish a parent for developing a habit that is literally brought into society from greed. Instead of penalizing the victims, help them to kick the habit and make the government take cigarettes off the market as well as all of the other dangerous chemicals that are so freely marketed through the media.

Because it isn't the habit itself that I am making my point on. My point is to keep it away from children. I know many people that smoke but never do around their children. It is just as easy to step outside. There is absolutely no reason to smoke around a child. However, I do agree with you about the governmental greed issue. The point of a persuasive speech is to pick a controversial topic and argue it to change your audiences mind. It worked in my class. I got an A.
