As always, great analysis. Keep up good work. Size does matter. A.Silva showed that against Fedor. His transition from full guard to full mount looked like Fedor has no grappling skils at all. And Fedor is one of most decorated sambo fighters on the planet. Thats how much size matters.

Most of cormiers wrestling medals are from 96kg class.

Cormier is a great MMA fighter he's with a good team too but do not underestimate Barnette he's an MMA brainstorm he knocked out punchers and experience wise he's only 33 and he's been around since forever he's competing in MMA since he was 15yrs old.I n North America He's not known and he can be losing a fight badly and in a split second turn the tie and win.I like both so I wont even watch it until I found out who wins lol

If Barnett wants this fight to hit the ground, he will have to drop Cormier standing, there is no way around that. Barnett is a very capable MMA wrestler, but we are talking another breed of wrestling with Cormier. This fight will be contested on the feet. Both these guys have shown proof of great power, but it would be fair to say neither are world class strikers. I'm giving the slight edge to Barnett simply because he is more battle tested, and if he drops Cormier, he is getting the sub 100%

@12spanku Barnett by far is amongst the best wrestling in the HW div. For MMA< Barnett's wrestling is far superior to Cain and Lesnar. Barnett's got crative TD methods, eg trips, etc. Plus I think Barnett has a bigger gas tank. If Barnett's get the top position, it's over for Cormier. Barnett's ability to control opponents on the ground is by far the best in the HW div in the sport. I see Barnett winning.

Nice notion regarding the takedown-to-mount of Barnett. Man, Josh Barnett is as ripe and proper of a fighter as I have ever seen so far. He is genuinely EVIL and stone cold sober in the cage, and veeeery very intelligent. You need to be even more vile in the cage than him to give him a proper fight, and I'm pretty happy with how the lineup of the final have turned out, because I think Barnett crushes Bigfoot 13 times out of 10 tries. Much more interested in Cormier VS Barnett.

Cormier could definitely take Barnett on the feet. Barnett is decent, but not great standing.

We still haven't seen Cormier off his back, but it's still doubtful we will ever see him struggle there because of his incredible TDD. If Barnett can, however, he has a great chance.
