I was in Sarajevo almost 10 years after the war, but it's so bad even to imagine what could have happened in Bosnia. I have never seen such things in any other european country. It was a very great a breave idea to do a concert just a few weeks after the war in a country that must have been totally in ruins. I feel solidarity for all bosnians, and croatians from Hungary

Thanks to an angel who is resting in peace now, thanks to Bono and I wish him long life for this song about my city. These people gave support to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and it will be always in my heart. At the beginning of the war I was 8 years old, and I survived the whole war with my family in the besieged city of Sarajevo, I am grateful to God and good people also.

I heard this again just the other day in a beach bar in Tenerife. I was physically moved by Pavorottis voice, the emotions behind the song and the stunning sunset I was confronted with. Sublime piece of work. If only so many pointless deaths didn't have to occur for artists to write such beauty, but I guess that's the way of the world, always has been and always will be. I was a Serb living in Sarajevo, many seem to forget us, The Muslims were not the only victims. I was attacked by both Croat and Muslim, Theres no point blaming just the Serbs, the war was caused by Nationalists on all sides.
@Piewayman yes, there were people of all ethnicities in Sarajevo during the siege. but it is important to remember that shells and snipers (targeting all civilians) were coming from the Serb positions that surrounded the city.

Amazing song, made for victims of war....Makes you thing back to those days with anger...These children were running from a to b not to get killed by sniper fire while my biggest consern in safe little Denmark at that time was how to get money for another night out....my biggest respekt for these kids, hope you all have a good life now..and what can i say...U2, Bono, Pavorotti, what a mix...

If nothing else this song has certainly raised the profile of what happened in Bosnia and many people love this song for so many reasons. I recently had a good friend pass away and like you this was played at his funeral.
In my ignorance I first heard the George Michael version then about 6 months later heard the original,what a difference. It hurts in a beautiful way to listen to this song. its in my top 10 all time favourite songs, wonderful!

Thanks to an angel who is resting in peace now, thanks to Bono and I wish him long life for this song about my city. These people gave support to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and it will be always in my heart. At the beginning of the war I was 8 years old, and I survived the whole war with my family in the besieged city of Sarajevo, I am grateful to God and good people also.

I heard this again just the other day in a beach bar in Tenerife. I was physically moved by Pavorottis voice, the emotions behind the song and the stunning sunset I was confronted with. Sublime piece of work. If only so many pointless deaths didn't have to occur for artists to write such beauty, but I guess that's the way of the world, always has been and always will be. If only it weren't so. Peace.

For someone who once was a part of Yugoslavia, this song is a bitter reminder of all of our pain while watching people die in Sarajevo. I will keep those memories with a tear in my eye how entire world forgot about us untill Bosnia has happened. Thank you Bono.

War conflicts are closer than they seem to be. No need to think of the so called 'third world'. Just round the corner in our very Europe we did not want to see Sarajevo. This song is a breathtaking tribute to so many innocents who were involved and even killed or abused. Normal people like you and me. Unbelievable.

I was a Serb living in Sarajevo, many seem to forget us, The Muslims were not the only victims. I was attacked by both Croat and Muslim, Theres no point blaming just the Serbs, the war was caused by Nationalists on all sides.

@Piewayman yes, there were people of all ethnicities in Sarajevo during the siege. but it is important to remember that shells and snipers (targeting all civilians) were coming from the Serb positions that surrounded the city.

Amazing song, made for victims of war....Makes you thing back to those days with anger...These children were running from a to b not to get killed by sniper fire while my biggest consern in safe little Denmark at that time was how to get money for another night out....my biggest respekt for these kids, hope you all have a good life now..and what can i say...U2, Bono, Pavorotti, what a mix...

If nothing else this song has certainly raised the profile of what happened in Bosnia and many people love this song for so many reasons. I recently had a good friend pass away and like you this was played at his funeral.
In my ignorance I first heard the George Michael version then about 6 months later heard the original,what a difference. It hurts in a beautiful way to listen to this song. its in my top 10 all time favourite songs, wonderful!
