@lhannamae1 You have to get knocked down off the clock in the Time room in the Temple of the Ancients! When you do, you will have to open a chest, and there is the Bat! It has a high damage, but no materia slots.

What? No Final limit for Aeris? And this is the last battle before she leaves your party.

One of the most memorable Boss battles for me because i had to try it so many times. I went into the temple of ancients a bit underleveled and if i remember it correctly you cant get out once you go that far. I had to train my characters in the temple and perfect my strategy to beat him.

On my second playthrough, i had Aeris nicely leveled up with her final limit and the battle was a piece of cake.

@Mespritroth There was no point in it, i just did it for my own amusement. I found it enjoyable to easily beat the bosses i had hard time on the first playthrough. Btw Great gospel grant invincibilty on all character and restores all HP and MP. So it would be the best Limit only if Aeris lived through the game.

@E1SUNZ It is on Disc 1, and it is a main boss. You cannot avoid him. He is the last fight before you leave the Temple of the Ancients, and before Sephiroth manipulates Cloud to give him the Black Materia.

@aceW3RM It can take a long time, but really its as long as you want it. In my latest run through im at 104 hours. Yes, for the PC 4 disc, Disc 1 is installation disc. 2,3,4 were game discs.

@DiDolRuChagi i never get weapons that have no materia slots, not because i dont like high dmg output, but because i dont need it to kill any monster, and since having the most quantity of slots = to max exp performance i will always get the greatest of that, the point of this game is beating the final boss, and leveling your materias with every single boss is going to save you time at the end, which you can spend(waste) on breeding chocobos xD

@H3c70rit0 You are correct. I don't like to use them either. I was using rune blade for cloud and rune armlets all the way up to Crater. Once I got apocalypse I switched it out for rune blade to triple ap gain. Once I got into crate I leveled up hella fast. Fought many 2x Magic pots. They give you like 2400 AP when in pairs of two and you give them elixirs. Then with apocalypse I get 3 x 2400 = 7200 AP for 1 fight on materia.

@DiDolRuChagi same for me, but i used 3x mithril to level up, since they give you insane specs, best armlet ingame, +2 slots cant match +stats on all, tetralemental armlet or dragon armlet cant match mithril either, you set the materia the white chocobo gives you for scratching its ear(think it was its ear) with "add status" materia, and 4x hit, and you have like 80% chance of turning enemies into stone, or if impossiblem to halt them, it also gives slow, so massive lameass strategy xD

Big Guard is needed for the added haste..also Regen to keep health at a decent level..other wise..ez battle.

@nuttyjay100 There's a fine line between recomendations and necessities. Big guard and regen are not needed, but strongly recommended. Restore is needed, along with potions, or any HP and MP potions.

I just beat this boss about 2 hours ago xD. It only took me 2 tries. I had a lvl 32 Cloud, lvl 30 Aeris, and a lvl 31 Cid. All you gotta do is have aeris and cloud with cure2-all and rely on normal attacks and limit breaks. What sucks is that I wasted all of my mp before i remembered I just got the bahumat summon xD. Magic doesn't really work on this guy. So yeah, that's pretty much it. People say that you pretty much NEED epic weapons and big guard, but that's not ENTIRELY true.

@WhatsOfTheUp No, they are wrong when you need epic weapons, and big guard. You dont need any of those. Restore is all you need, and Ethers OR any other potions that fill your MP back up. Then its just hit hit hit, limit break, hit, etc. It's really not that hard of boss.

@TTAYLOR121 Its the Nail bat..It does very good damage, and is found in the Ancient Temple. You have to fall down from the Clock Room. Meaning get hit by one of the hands. Open the chest! Like I said, it does good damage, but the downfall and the reason its not popular is because It doesnt have any materia slots. :(

If you're bloody lucky and keep 2 healers and get one to go all out you can beat him at a lower lvl.

Beating this git was worth it :), sucks ff after this got easier and bosses walkovers.

Is this after the Red Dragon?, because you would not be able to move the clock after you beat him. You are forced to fight the demon wall once the Dragon is dead.

inside the room where you pick up the bahamut materia you still get enemy battles, thats the best place to lvl up- i got stuck here too ages ago and had to do the same , tedious but it works. I've just bought this game again to start over its a classic and i miss it when i sold it the newer ones arent as good.

Well, first off I will answer the last part of that very easily. You simply cannot summom Bahamut 2x because you have not leveled it up. Secondly, to beat this boss is rather easy. Use your cure and barrier Materias. If you used Manipulate to get Big Guard use that. You can get Big Guard from the Beach Plugs outside of Del Sol. This Enemy Skill will cast Haste and Barrier onto your characters. Just watch your health. Use Aeris Seal Evil on him. This has the opportunity to paralyze him.

Just the typical boss battle. Throw on Barrier(unless you manipulated the Beach Plug to get Big Guard, then use Big Guard(Haste and Barrier). Also, If you have regen use that. If not, just watch your health. Dont bother with poison, because that rarely works.Use your newly recieved Bahamut! It will take a more hits to kill it, but it will get the job done. Hopefully this sort of helps.

i found this battle pretty easy and btw the save point right outside the room with the black materia you encouter anciect dragons a lot good way to lvl up if you need to and basically one of the best ways to get a good start is to get every ones limit guage up before getting to the boss

You find this thing in the Main story. It is when Aeris(Aerith) takes you to the Temple of the Ancients. You find sephiroth here and he is in search of the Black Materia. You fight the Red Dragon, then a cut scene, then you try to leave the temple in the clock room. Then you come to a door and you fight him. Cait Sith also sacrifices himself at this point.

Nope, not quite. The Music videos are mostly from either A) Final Fantasy Advent Children, or B) Final Fantasy Crisis Core, or both. This game was released to long ago to have amazing Graphics.

Yeah, i still love this game, but the bore factor is starting to settle in when i had to read the whole story.. But still a great game. This is the Demons Gate guy, right when you want to leave the Temple of the Ancients. After this fight, Cait sith #1 sacrifices himself to blow up the Temple to get to the Black Materia, which Cloud gives to Sephiroth, and makes Aeris go after him in the Forgotten Capital/City...Then she dies. Know now?
