  • Thanks man, that was GREAT. Not exactly what I was looking for but close enough.

I need to do something like this but around at thee area where the lock goes in.

It's completely Damaged and dug out from too many screws..

If you could put a video up that would be great, I couldn't find anything.

    THANKS AGAIN!!

  • @bxblack

    Glad to be of service!

The lock repair you describe is a common one, but done completely differently from a backsplash repair.

Usually I replace the entire section from the floor to the top of the door. If repainted carefully the repair is virtually invisible.

If I get a call for such a repair I will try to take a camera with me to demonstrate.

It can be complicated to try to work and film at the same time.

    Best regards,

  • what exactly do I need to repair my door and who would carry the "door jamb" kit?

  • @fouwat

Thanks for your question. This type repair is based on the amount of damage unique to each individual door.

There is no "kit" to repair backsplash water damage.

In the video I used a section of jamb stock to match the original factory installation.

As an alternative, I could have used ordinary lumber resized to the dimensions of the factory lumber. In either case the job dictates the extent of the repair.

    Best regards,
