  • this car is very cheap at my local hyundai dealership 26k for this one all ugly colors and 28 for that turbo model this my car i want it

  • @Intechdude300 Nissan cars sweep past Ford in resale value, making that 2-4 mpg comment an after thought for most buyers who are looking at long term value. CVT does more than shift, it also adjusts itself to road conditions, CVT doesn't require the maintenance a typical transmission does, and has fewer components, less to go wrong, CVT keeps and engine in its optimum power range, an advantage for performance - but if you want to feel the shift shock, it's ok!

CVT does more than shift, it also adjusts itself to road conditions, which a conventional automatic cannot do. • when i saw the hybrid in person, i realized it looks a lot like the regular sonata

  • Tom - Best car reviews on the internet... or anywhere, really. Keep up the good job!

  • Dispite the Fords CVT id rather have the Fusion. The looks are better (ie normal) and most likely drives better and delivers more road feel. I do hate CVTs but Fords isnt too bad and this review said that the 6speed in the sonata isnt that smooth.

  • these are by far the best car reviews online that i've found but i was wondering if you could show us how to use the 6 speed in cars like that when it's in manual.

i know how to do it with completely standard cars and the panel shifters but i'm curious to see how these new ones work

  • Most practical reviews around. great job. but keep more of those funny puns and evil twin scenes. those just make it all the better. haha. Sonata looks nice in that color too. Saw one of those hybrids in town and it looks so sleek and aggressive in person. Cool car.

  • It is funny to watch the market in US with those CVT transmissions, hybrids that don't do anything special, strange styling choices, old engines and tech but with heated seats and leather...

  • I'm not into Hybrids nor am I gaga over the normal Sonata. But I must say that this Hybrid has to be at least somewhat most tolerable & enjoyable to drive over the others because of the 6-speed auto for instance vs the CVT which really makes a driving experience rather boring.

I really hope the warehouse store recognizes you as an automotive journalist doing cargo capacity demos with cars vs a guy simply in desperate need of TP lol...

  • @Intechdude300 Fixed-ratio gearboxes are inferior to CVT in terms of efficient torque usage. CVTs have their share of problems, but these are mostly software glitches and manufacturing defects. Give CVTs another five years or so and you will not see fixed-ratio gearboxes used anymore. They are dinosaurs. They will die just like carburetors did.

  • @LeadHammer I disagree. Far as I read, automakers are investing more & more into traditional Autos. Like adding more speeds & automated Manuals. They wont bother investing millions, if not billions into a gearbox if the future went down the course that you predicted. I've driven plenty of vehicles with the CVT & they totally take away the fun & engagement to a driving experience. CVT was meant to be more fuel efficient than 4 & 5 speed auto when they came out. No longer the case with 6 speed+

  • @Intechdude300 6, 7 or 8 speeds will never be more efficient than infinite number of gear ratios. The only reason automakers are investing into traditional transmissions is because CVTs cannot transfer high torque. But they constantly are getting better, from small cars of 1970-ies to large all-wheel drive cars like Subaru and Audi.

As for fun, a car does not have to be fun. All it has to do is transport people from point A to point B. If you want fun then ride a horse. The air will be cleaner.

  • @LeadHammer Then you really are a boring person if that is all what you care about. At least getting some sort of pleasure from a drive is what makes driving enticing. And a 6, 7, & 8 speed auto can be more efficient in non hybrid cars in terms of fuel efficiency. Ford Sweeps past Nissan by 2-4 MPG per model with their 6 speed autos. Honda Even surpasses with some models with only a 5 speed, Audi pretty much dropped off the CVT Bandwagon, as did MIni, Ford on non hybrid models. Just look it up

  • @Intechdude300 Subaru and Nissan are pushing CVT. Ford abandoned CVT on the Freestyle because it felt that its traditional customers like you like the jerking when gears change and hate high-RPM engine buzz. Anyway, the 6-speed on this Hyundai is a just a budget solution, not a spark of bright engineering.

  • @LeadHammer That was a terrible response. Nothing personal but if you are speaking for yourself & is on a strict budget & can only car for something that takes you from point A to Point be, fine!!! But dont speak for everyone else. It would be a sad & boring world if everyone thought that way :P
