  • I can't tell if I have bunion problem or just wide feet please respond I have more questions

  • Where can I find that 'rigid' tape that was used? And exactly how rigid is it? What's the brand name?

  • i have some questions.. i have a bunion, but is this taping only for dancers? why do we need to do this? (does it help muscles?) can we do this just because it doesnt look good?

  • @LuckyCharmsTalent12

Wait... Why would that break ur foot?

  • I have extreme bunions and if I did that, I would break my foot, but if I didn't have it so extreme, I would use this

  • where can i buy this tape

  • what type of tape are you using

  • wait just one question... why are toe spacers not good?

  • youre a bunion saver!!! thank you!!!!

  • waaaaaaah I hate bunions :(

  • My bunion is near the pinkt toe.

  • @112frankybaby HOLY FUCK.

  • When I was 9 I used to tape my bunions but when I turned 16 taping it was not working for me anymore I end getting both of my feet done . I'm 24 now getting bunion surgery was the best thing I ever did

  • @Rcutiepie are you still dancing? as in professionally? if you dance professionally it may not be a good idea going for a surgery. bunion surgery takes out lots of strength out of your feet (as I have heard). but if you don't dance as a professional and you think it'll ease your condition, I think surgery would be better :)

  • Hi Lisa. Should everyone who wears pointe shoes be doing this taping?

  • Yeah but the bunion (or on the side of the foot that starts to crook) is still there and even overtime I believe it'll cause more pain. Cos the bunion is growing and the tape it's restraining that space to grow. For worse case scenarios surgery should be recomended.

  • Great taping tutorial and interesting PT specialty!

  • Where can I buy this tape

  • Hi Lisa, I'm Going On Pointe Next Year And I Have Bunions... Why Can't I Just Use A Toe Spacer...??? Do I Really Have To Do All That Taping???

  • @Am3cA well you can use toe spacers so your bunions dont get any worst but the taping is worth it, especially for the long run. my grandma did ballet && went en pointe in her youth and she had to get a few surgeries because of her bunions in the past few years, and she only had (homemade) toe spacers. SO long story short, yes toe spacers are good, but using BT (bunion tape) is better for the long run.

  • that's a lot of tape!! am i suppose to do that everytime i wear pointe shoes? that's going to be kind of expensive to buy so much toe tape

  • Thank you so much for this video!! I'm not that scarred anymore :)

  • do you do this only when you dance, or should you tape at other times if you already have a serious bunion problem?

  • For any1 asking the brown tape looks like guaze or however u spellthat lol the other looks similar to guaze. Check them put at cvs or any pharmacy

  • Love the video and keen to give it a try. Can you advise the type and size of tape(s) I require please?

  • what kind of tape do you use? there are 2 kinds?

  • This is just what I was looking for! I am not a dancer but both feet have developed bunions from walking and running. I just did this and my toes are staying nice and straight. :) I'll definitely continue taping from now on!

  • @PeachyKeen19

what kind of tape do you use? 2 kinds? Thanks!

  • are all ballet dancers doomed to have bad feet?

  • I have a bump on the other side of my foot.. is that a bunion? Please let me know if it is, and if this technique will work

  • Yes, it's called a tailor's bunion or bunionette.

  • @corrections189 thank you!

  • @InTheMomment i have that. it is a bunion.

  • do you use this technique every time you go on pointe??

or rather, when do you use this?

  • When should you wear it? Should you do it for a training? For all day except training? For a night?

  • if u have bunions but not on pointe can u still use the technic?

  • yes

  • of course!

  • @RockinR3K I was wondering the same thing.

  • I am really trying to figure out what type of tape that is. Obviously you used two different types of tape, but I wonder what the difference between both of them are?

I'm starting pointe soon and I already have a bunion from a while back, and I was wondering if I can wear the taping shown while en pointe.

  • toe spacers will help that

  • The first tape used is called fiximole (not shore how to spell that one) :)

  • It's fixamol, it's easier to find as mefix.

  • That's a lot of tape...but very helpful anyway. Thanks!!!

  • What kind of tape did you use? I have bunions budding and I really wanna try this out.

  • i think its medical tape

  • Perhaps Ill have to see what I find and make do. lol. I need to try this.

  • i have HUGE bunions! I dont do anything about them... They do get in my way when I go on releve when I am on en pointe and just releve in general... Any tips?? Should I do something about them?

  • thank you...

but i am still a bit confused...

i have been en pointe for over 2 years.

i have terribly large bunions and i use toe spacers...

i dont ever tape them...is that bad?

if my bunions get worse could they possibly damage my feet?

    thanks again

  • my dance teacher said i have a dead middle toe lolthat my nick name in class (its kinda imbaressing) she said that because when i left my toes up my middle toe dont go up with the others. can anybody help explain why???

in ganna be on pointe very soon so can somebody help?

  • i have the same thing on my left middle toe too!!!lol

  • are you on pointe??? im going on pointe in about four monthe and i want it fixed

  • s the pointe shoes you wear, how high is the box on the shoe ? and does the bunion hang out of the box ? if so look for a shoe with a higher box that holds the bunion inside, many dancers dance with bunions, make sure that the shoe holds the foot and does not slip down the shoe when on pointe.your bones have already hardened at your age, nothing will correct it only surgery, but if you feel that the bunion is not getting worse by pointe work carry on and enjoy your dancing.....

  • Have you thought about using a spacer ?

  • She said a spacer will just push the toes apart, and not correct or align the toe, which is the problem. When I use them, often it feels more comfortable but I don't think it really helps with anything else. Though I don't know what problems bunions really cause.

  • she says its just pushes them out and istemporary when usin tape over time will ocrrect the problem :L

  • Hi Lisa,

Question: I'm 23 years old and I do pointe work recreationally for exercise and fun. My right bunion is more protrusive than the one in the video. Is it adviseable to still do pointe work, even for recreation if I intend to get a corrective operation later on down the track?
