  • Josh Krajcik sent me here.

  • @JoshKrajcikOfficial just posted an amazing video covering this song...

  • NOT MARK LANEGAN,HE SHOULD BE CALLED AS MARK LEGEND.

  • Okay, I seriously need to know where all of my high school friends were on this one. Guys? Where the fuck were you?

Why didn't you fuckers ever tell me how fucking good Screaming Trees were twenty fucking years ago?!?

  • Good lord, this song still gives me the chills!

Please reunite! Your fellow Seattlelites Alice in Chains and Soundgarden came back, we need teh rawk!!!

  • A lá meu lado GRUNGE chegando...

  • One of my faves by them, this one is so beautiful & soulfully sung, still rocking yet a ballad, I'm hooked on their music, have them playing on repeat on my stereo & can't get enough of their sound, so I'm here to share out their videos with my music loving friends. I only wish I'd found them back when they 1st came out, but better late than never.

  • mark lanegan is really jim morrison, jim drank some youth alixer back in 1970, he started to miss singing tho, so he started a band, he called it screaming trees.

  • These guys opened up for alice in chains in 92 when i seen them and again in 93 for Dino Jr. GREAT

  • and now we have x factor and katy perry...the modern world needs to take a look in the mirror and realise how void of sentiment it is

  • 1 person is deaf, there can't be any other explanation

  • Love the 90's. Was one of those jocks with a musician for a brother. Still, I miss those days.

  • ... that no one should hurt you....

  • torn like an........

  • cnt evn typ cuz da sng is 2 pwrful!

Screaming Trees. One of the greatest grunge bands out there.

  • What I respect is that all the "different" sounding bands that came out of WA were so different and yet they all hit the bullseye. It really was very special. Dont forget Satchel, cuz Satchel is very good. WA rules.

  • Grunge wasn't necessarily about apathy. Punk was *mostly* apathy, but Grunge was was about just disillusionment at it's core and the passion borne out of being bored with the same old shit and wanting something new.

  • @PieceofMindmusic Looks like we need another Grunge era. Because I'm tired of all the music these days D:

  • @voro122 - Really? I think there are tons of great underground bands, in my town at least.

They aren't all grunge but that doesn't matter. I think rehashing something that's already been done is the last thing we need, we need new original rocknroll sound and it can't be exploited and comercialized like grunge was.

That's why grunge got ruined for the most part.

People need to go out on their own to small local clubs and to records stores and find good modern music for themselves. That's all.

  • @PieceofMindmusic Being able to define grunge in just one sentence as effectively as you just did deserves two thumbs up!

  • What a great band, I highly recommend Sweet Oblivion.

  • Great song ~ deep and meaningful ~ thank you for this share :)

  • where is The "LEGEND" Button?

  • @username30045 emo, WTF ? This is grunge bitch !

  • @PedroUnited1 grunge is a media word, none of the bands called themselves that but i guess these days its more acceptable since when you say it,everyone knows what you mean

  • @username30045 EMO IS DEPRESSION, GRUNGE ITS APATHY, VERY DIFFERENT THINGS

  • @imranzakhaev100 Nirvana was apathy, grunge wasnt. sure it came from a hell of a bored generation... Withdrawal in disguist is not the same as apathy =)

  • @imranzakhaev100 Idk When I think emo, I think stuff like Jawbox and Emery, stuff that was originally about the same sardonic wit used in grunge. The difference being that grunge seemed more passionate than emotive hardcore. This is not to say that emotive hardcore was any worse, it was just different. I personally like it, it's enjoyable in a subtle way, but definitely not as good as grunge was. (I'm not talking about that My Chemical Romance bullshit by the way, I'm talking about REAL emo.)

  • I saw these guys in Flint at the Capitol.... Mark Lanegan just has an incredible voice.

  • vevo eat dick

  • people that complain about vevo just cant afford fast internet :)

  • why is lady gaga near this video or band? i saw the same next to mad season and alice in chains ..... death to vevo

  • best band ever

  • grunge=years that never comes back

  • 27Club!

  • vevo eat dick

  • Every once in a while, I have to click on one of those ads to make sure pop music still sucks. And guess what? It still does!

  • The lion's mane on the drummer is even more ridiculous than the stupid lyrics. I love Mark Lanegan and all. He's actually pretty self-deprecating and will be the first to tell you how much they tanked when they went for the big time during the grunge boom of 92-94.

  • The singer looks like Will Ferrell with a wig on, including the ridiculous singing voice, lyrics and facial expressions. I love the trees and all, I'm not knocking them at all. However, we all have to fess up to the truth!!!

  • @SDC121986 hahha no I know your not mocking them at all...he really does...and I also have a friend that looks like both of them too...I call him Mark Lanegan...I showed him the picture and he said Touche' i look like him hahah so he doesn't get mad when i Calll him Lanega

  • everything mark lanegan touches is gold

  • Its still free. Ads only affect retards who buy shit just cuz someone else told them to. If you're not one, simply wait it out or browse another page while he ad is loading, then watch your videos 'free of charge'.

No point on vevo debates and hate speech in every dam youtube link. They get off on it, and in a way you're giving them each a handjob. Dont forget to use lotion!

  • @ekyvvsaq ur an idiot. vevo doesnt give a shit about music they just want to make money from all of the ads they use. its an exploitation of the principle that youtube was started on - free p2p sharing

  • @TheShitRope Its still free, in case you havent noticed, and it propably wouldnt be, unless they co-operate with companies like Vevo. And try to be a little more kind to strangers online, you sound like a douche!

  • love this song

  • This band rocks and is one of my all time favorites!

  • 0 dislikes = Epic!!

  • Definitely a great band and an awesome voice 'Sweet Oblivion is one of my fav cd's

  • @BlackSabbathory Don't knock other music because someones a tool. Let the tool be a tool. Leave music alone.

  • I watched a few seconds of this video and it took me back in time. Then I saw a cutlass dashboard and kept watching and saw a 70 cutlass convertible. In my dreams I would be driving this car listening to these songs in about 1993.

  • Screaming tress! One hell of a good band.

  • @Tarbash7 Why are you listing to it than? Face it, you like it.

  • amazing

  • Really inventive vocal patterns. I love this band!

  • great band. amazing song. why do boys feel they need to fight it on youtube's comment pages?

  • @waterdol80 girls dont do that? you mean

  • @lovebattery100 sure they do.

  • @waterdol80 Because nobody can punch them in the mouth over the internet. They can't get away with speaking their mind in public, so they flex here. It's all about insecurity really. Little battles to make themselves feel accomplished.

  • screaming trees-132 s treestupid busters-0, lovemesome

  • Simply one of the best songs i have ever heard

  • I saw Screaming Trees and Soundgarden play a show together back in '95. As much as I love Soundgarden, Screaming Trees put on a better show. That is how awesome they were. They never made it as big as they should have, but they were pretty big and well respected around here (I live by Seattle).

  • these guys are from Selah

  • ST is an awesome, underrated band; so why weren't they superstars? Just listen to Mark L.'s interviews sometime - the guy is introverted, almost painfully so. It's part of the mystique of the band's dark, enigmatic sound, but at the same time, it would be refreshing if, once in a while, he'd let his guard down a tiny bit to explain the music. Just imagine how many opportunities for the band to make it big were born and died at the foot of that emotional wall. It ain't rocket science, ya know?

  • Underrated band and very important on the grunge scene, but don't even come close to Alice in chains or Pearl Jam, Lanegan has not an awesome voice as been said, very good music though

  • Just bought the vinyl single of this song on eGay... needless to say my mailbox won't be lonely until it gets here :)

  • Most under-rated band in, like, the history of the 'verse.

  • I saw them at the Gorge. And then tried to see them in Yakima at the Capitol. They closed it and we rioted. FUCK YAKIMA!

  • yeah the Trees should reunite. there are so many people that miss them and think they are underrated. they should have been bigger. Mark Lanegan is so talented. I would go see them in a heartbeat if they did a tour or something.

  • beautiful. and sick. love it.

  • One of my all time favorite songs. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

  • This video is stunning.

  • gotta love marks vocals! simply the best!

  • this is number one on my list of bands that need to reunite. new tour, cause id love to see em live, and a new album. cmon guys.... if you cant tell... muic kinda needs you...

  • @losingmyreligion6767 What we need is a new solo album from Mark - six years is too long to wait!

  • @RagingHeffalump gotta say, dude, id prefer a trees reunion. you know theyd be bigger than ever if they came back.

  • Awesome song............okay video.

  • i love him and kurts down in the dark

  • I never get tired of this song

  • A great example of what REAL MUSIC used to be! You can't here any of this today... and it's such a pity... Today's youth grows up with such a wrong idea of what music has to give to people. It's all videos, customs, make-up and lame tunes now... IMO fashion killed music.

  • @Vdyn88 It was the internet that killed good music. It started with the free music sharing programs like Napster. So after 00' everyone started downloading their music for free and the record companies saw they weren't making money anymore. So they stopped signing talented bands and went more for image. That's why music is crap today.

  • @Halo2100 good theory

  • so fuckin full of soul and feeling. i cant help but get into this music. simply amazing. just gotta sit back, close your eyes and take it in people. absorb the greatness. just cant find music like this these days.

  • Esta canción es sencillamente ESPECTACULAR.. por Dios que gran tema...

  • soundtrack of my life, 22-23. I played this CD constantly.

still to this day, brings shivers.

  • vevo sucks balls and should die

  • @pimpjuicehere Without Vevo, much fewer people would've heard of Screaming Trees.

  • i just heard this song and now im gonna end up dowloading a bunch of their stuff probly end up being all of it

  • Dinosaur jr, Screaming trees... maaaaaaaaan

  • This song makes me wanna cry. I miss the nineties so bad. It was like too much to handle, musically.

  • Agree 100%

  • Saw these guys play in Bellingham, Wa. in about 1993. Awesome show!

  • i can't stand vevo and their stupid ad's, it's like just get to the damn music video, i dont want to hear a stupid ad running through my loud speakers

  • Great.

    Need I say more?

  • Simply put, this is the most underrated band of all time. I grew up in the early to mid 90s and for the life of me, I cannot understand why they werent absolutely huge. Phenomenal band.

  • @tidefootball27 man they are great, the only thing is that they werent "marketed' like nirvana and pearl jam were

  • @tidefootball27 Could not agree more.

  • @tidefootball27 Lanegan wanted to avoid the fame, I bet. Gotta say, I'm happy he decided to. Otherwise he ran the risk of deluding his music in the face of commercial pressures. I'm just psyched that we have the phenomenal music that he already made :)

  • @th1nkman And is still making - he hasn't hung it up yet!

  • @tidefootball27 I couldn't say it better myself. It makes me sick thinking about it. If this album wasn't going to make them fucking larger then lifewhat was. they have been a band sense the 80s so much soul and blues you want to cry.

  • @tidefootball27

Are you kidding? These guys were one of the biggest underground acts of the '90s. Don't get me wrong, they were a good band, but certainly not underrated.

  • @tidefootball27 because they suck ass

  • @Bodomterror696969 you dont know good music

  • @Bodomterror696969 Give me one reason why they suck ass.

  • @voro122 because he looks too much like eddie vedder and all their songs sound the same

  • @Bodomterror696969 Wait did you just say that HE looks to much like Eddie?! Screaming Trees was formed 5 years before Pearl Jam (1985 that is). And I personally don't see much similarities between them, except the long hair. And what the hell do you mean they all sound the same? Just compare this song to Alice said or Winter Song.

  • @voro122 so was pearl jam you ding ass. this band sucks and eddie should go back to pearl jam and leave this gay band cause this guy looks like eddie

  • @Bodomterror696969 Sorry...I agree with voro122. He does not look anything like Eddie Vedder, except for the fact that back in 1992, EV had similar length hair (although EV's was darker and wavier in any case). But if you look at any of these bands that were hot on the early 90's, many of the members had hair this length. It was pretty common. And they didn't ALL look like Eddie Vedder. Although I don't know...maybe they did to you. But I'm a pretty big EV fan, and I don't see it.

  • @Bodomterror696969 If you're saying Pearl Jam was formed 1985, you're really stupid. The members of Pearl Jam played in another band called Mother Love Bone. The only reason Pearl Jam was formed is because the lead singer of Mother Love Bone died 1990.

  • @voro122 no it isnt your stupid

    douche

  • @snakeweirdo you heard me fuck face

  • @Bodomterror696969 I heard you, but I didn't understand, because your message wasn't clear.

  • @snakeweirdo your just a retard

  • @Bodomterror696969 You're*

Next time you call someone a retard, learn some grammar first.

  • @snakeweirdo YOUR a douchebag if your commenting on grammar get the fuck off youtube you shithead

  • @Bodomterror696969 You're

  • @Bodomterror696969 I disagree... I'd rather have an English Nazi than an incessant jerk... you leave, Bodumb.

  • @jieuxarmeni how about you leave you giant douche. who gives a flying fuck how you spell or anything you dont gotta go around commenting it fucking shithead i acn sepll hwoever i wnat

  • @Bodomterror696969 Blah blah blah... Yes you can... and I can call you out on being an utter moron if I want, Troll.

  • @jieuxarmeni if ima troll your a unicorn

  • @snakeweirdo You're*

Next time you call someone a retard, learn some grammar first.

  • @tidefootball27 They are really good, and a staple of the 90's, but they definitely have a more generic sound to them. They just didn't stick out enough at the time.

  • @tidefootball27 agree 100%

  • @tidefootball27 Agreed 10000%!

  • @tidefootball27 Because the weren't beautiful, like Pearl Jam or other "grunge" bands. Sad but true, looks even count in Seattle.

  • Mark Lanegan, the lead singer of the Screaming Trees has put out some awesome solo stuff, "Whiskey for the Holy Ghost" and "Field Songs" are amazing, check them out if you like this.

  • Yes.Dare I say to me they are the Thin Lizzy of my Generation.A great band barely remembered maybe for 1 song/album with a great singer songwriter.Thats ok with me though.if you know what i mean

  • To this day, more than 17 years later, when I play this song, people ask 'great song! who wrote it?'...

and when I say Screaming Trees....I get the 'huh, who's that'...a shame.

'Now, down in the light, and I must be dreaming....'

  • Want to know something even sadder? nobody at my school even knows who the Foo fighters are. WTF.

  • @thedude652

Yeah, I'm always talking about Dave Grohl and how I totally love him, and people actually have to ask me who he is. I'm always like, "Ummm. Seriously? Do you even LISTEN TO MUSIC??" People are dumb.

  • Screaming Trees, Failure, and most of all HUM...

Should own the world right now with people clamoring for reunion tours. Instead, no one's ever heard of them.

    "I told a lie I didn't need it!"

  • You'll be surprised. Not that many people know of Screaming Trees because today's generation is oblivious and quite rather tasteless. These were the days where music really evolved! ST is awesome and oh so gifted.
