According to the lore, they are a heat management method, that's all.
If they wanted to do thermal clips so bad, they should given the clips a heating and cooling system like the guns had in mass effect 1. Except the clips should take much longer to cool down, that would have been better. They made it seem to much like ammunition, which as you said is completely untrue.

I think everyone here will agree with me that this game SUCKS compared to the original Mass Effect. This game has no storyline whatsoever (you're brought back to life, then recruit some fucktards, then go on a suicide mission)... that's the ENTIRE fucking storyline everybody. There's absolutely no epic moments in this game at all. In Mass Effect 1 you have to leave Ashley or Kaiden behind to die, or the time when you discovered that Sovereign is really a Reaper... now THAT IS EPIC. Bioware SUCKS

There's nothing memorable about this game. All the new characters are easily forgettable (didn't give much of a damn when any of them died at the end). And the returning characters have very weak parts.. you only got to see Ashley in only 1 scene in the entire game! Come on Bioware... I thought the decisions from ME 1 were supposed to make a big impact. Oh and another thing... there's NO explorations at all. All the game's cities and levels are narrow corridors that're linear and boring.
@thi71 did you do any of the loyalty missions? i felt all the characters were memorable, and on the note of decisions not meaning anything, i met up with kaiden, not ashley. there was only one hub in me1, while there are several in me2, and i really dont mind not driving that stupid mako over endless, bleak landscapes

very VERY disappointed in Mass Effect 2. The story is next to shit and nothing compared to the original game. Seriously I knew the whole damn storyline before I even purchased this game. The developer diary reveals that you're recruiting your squad for a suicide mission, but little did I know that THAT was everything to the storyline. Fuck you Bioware for such a shitty game!!! This game took only 18 hours to beat... ME 1took 50+ hours.
p.s. M920 Cain gun is the only good thing about this game.

I got ME2 but will not play it. Pausing is just not right. it's cheating! If I'm the enemy, I'll be pissed off and call it quits. OK I hate to upset everyone who likes this game but this game REALLY SUCKS. I was really looking forward to the heavy weapons that was supposed to "kill someone a thousand times over". SERIOUSLY.... one of the developers actually had the balls to say that. The heavy weapons are a complete joke, they are fucking lame and weak as hell (excluding the mini nuke launcher), other than that all the other weapons are laughable. Well, according to the books, most of the major races went the way of the dinosaur. Not through extinction or mass murder, but interbreeding. Everyone is a mutt. That's why Shepard is kinda black, but not really. Everyone is brown, except for a few here and there. Well you see the collectors are connected with the reapers, the reson because in ME 1 you stop the vanguard ship so the reapers needed more allies like the geth so they can do another attack. Oh did you know your crew can argu with you now, becareful the black haired woman got pissed when you disagree with her.
the keepers were built by the protheans, they're the only thing keeping the reapers out of council space. the keepers aren't servants of the reapers, they're enemies.
Partly that the Protheians reprogramed them to make it where they don't recive orders from the Reapers. So I'm guessing that the Collectors are another way for the Reapers to come?
No the Keepers where created by the reapers to open the portal for the reapers to return to the galaxy to eradicate life etc...BUT the protheans used the beacon to hack into the citadel command and changed the keepers so they wouldn't open the portal, and now the keepers just repair and clean the citadel. BUT they were servants to the reapers untill the protheans changed them....
Keepers were already present on the Citadel when Protheans found it, stupid. If you listened to the VI on Ilos, you'd know that. The Keepers evolved, much to the chagrin of the Reapers and were no longer under their direct control. So Prothean scientists sent code to prevent Keepers from acting on orders from Reapers to open the Citadel's mass relay. That's why Saren had to travel to Ilos to get onto Citadel through backdoor to gain control of station's systems.
Collectors didn't create the Reapers...they're remnants of the Prothean race. gasp!

Wow, you can easily see how much they have improved the graphics. I can honestly say that it is the best looking game I have seen on any console.
I love Mass Effect's style and the textures, lighting, animation and effects are all very high quality. With a technical foundation that strong the story it will tell and the amazing gameplay are going to all add up to one of the best games ever. I can't wait.
It looks good, but have you seen Uncharted 2 yet? I don't think that'll be easy to beat in graphics department, although ME2's gameplay is more fun to me.
We know from the first game that the Reapers have to use the mass relays just like the citdel races and that they are from a region out side of the galactic rim, without a mass relay jump it's going to take them some time to get back.
I played thru ME1 and was blown away at the detail! I hate RPG's but I was hooked on this one. Storyline, gameplay,(humpage), and endgame. So ready for 2. AND ITS A TRILOGY?! Go'head young!

Best part of the gameplay in this video: NO DAMN THERMAL CLIPS! Oh, and the weapon has an actual heat meter instead of numbers of remaining shots.
Still have no idea why BioWare thought forcing Shepard's elite team to scrounge for battlefield detritus to reload his weapon was a good idea.

OK I hate to upset everyone who likes this game but this game REALLY SUCKS. I was really looking forward to the heavy weapons that was supposed to "kill someone a thousand times over". SERIOUSLY.... one of the developers actually had the balls to say that. The heavy weapons are a complete joke, they are fucking lame and weak as hell (excluding the mini nuke launcher), other than that all the other weapons are laughable. Story sucks too, not once was I shocked or mesmerized like I did with ME 1.

When i first watched this, I thought the developers were over-exaggerating a bit since it all sounded too good to be true. Im happy to report that this game DEFINITELY lives up to these high claims

Well, according to the books, most of the major races went the way of the dinosaur. Not through extinction or mass murder, but interbreeding. Everyone is a mutt. That's why Shepard is kinda black, but not really. Everyone is brown, except for a few here and there. But the game contradicts this mostly because there are only a few non-Caucasian humans in the game. Shepard, Anderson, Jacob, Udina (maybe--but I know he's 100% asshole)...
But almost every other human is white or mostly.

Well you see the collectors are connected with the reapers, the reson because in ME 1 you stop the vanguard ship so the reapers needed more allies like the geth so they can do another attack. Partly that the Protheians reprogramed them to make it where they don't recive orders from the Reapers. So I'm guessing that the Collectors are another way for the Reapers to come?

No the Keepers where created by the reapers to open the portal for the reapers to return to the galaxy to eradicate life etc...BUT the protheans used the beacon to hack into the citadel command and changed the keepers so they wouldn't open the portal, and now the keepers just repair and clean the citadel. BUT they were servants to the reapers untill the protheans changed them....

Keepers were already present on the Citadel when Protheans found it, stupid. If you listened to the VI on Ilos, you'd know that. The Keepers evolved, much to the chagrin of the Reapers and were no longer under their direct control. So Prothean scientists sent code to prevent Keepers from acting on orders from Reapers to open the Citadel's mass relay. That's why Saren had to travel to Ilos to get onto Citadel through backdoor to gain control of station's systems.

yeah you are right, i was wrong, already won the game. So the collectors were protheans once, been changed by reapers. Slaves that builds more reapers, that human form reaper was awesome, i wonder wich race was the previous form..that race may be the one who created them.

Technically, if these "nano-bots" developed by themselves without outside manipulation, they wouldn't be considered "synthetic" as that would suggest they aren't real or natural. So your question is invalid. It just may not be organic in the fashion of life as we know it.

Wow, you can easily see how much they have improved the graphics. I can honestly say that it is the best looking game I have seen on any console.
I love Mass Effect's style and the textures, lighting, animation and effects are all very high quality. With a technical foundation that strong the story it will tell and the amazing gameplay are going to all add up to one of the best games ever. I can't wait.

We know from the first game that the Reapers have to use the mass relays just like the citdel races and that they are from a region out side of the galactic rim, without a mass relay jump it's going to take them some time to get back.
