It's easy for me as a Germanophile to look at the suffering and death the Germans suffered in WWII and be saddened, but I have to remember and find out about what the Nazis did to the Slavs. It was terrible and inevitably the retaliation was going to be terrible... I think that one of the reasons that the holocaust is given more attention relates more to the means of extermination that the Nazi's employed, those killed in the East were mainly murdered by death squads, the liquidation of the jews was much more organized and systematic, the fact that a good deal of thought and preperation went into the Holocaust will always make it seem more infamous. Zyklon B was the gas the Nazi's used at the death camps to gas the jews not something they used treat clothing. I think you are confusing concentration camps with death camps which is a common misconception. It was actually the British who first used concentration camps in the Boer war of 1901 to imprison the Boer populations, The Nazi's were the first (and hopefully the last) people to create organized death camps.
