  • Thank you so much for posting a walkthrough that doesn't have a running commentary. Too many would-be helpful gamers ruin these things by talking over all the voice acting and sound effects.

  • this remind me of Point lookout (DLC of Fallout3)

  • HURRAAAAY FOR COPYRIGHT INFRINGMENT

  • I know its not the same Arkham as Batman, but it would be totally awesome as it were. Batman vs. Cthulhu! This needs to be made.

  • @ElvenRaptor For christ sake no! :D the style of gameplay is completely different from each other, and mixing those two games would just ruin it.

  • Is this from batman? Arkaham Aslum?

  • @jouniify No, Arkham Asylum [in the Batman Universe of Gotham City] is based on the name from Lovecraft's books (Made around the 1900s to 1930s). Arkham Asylum in any Lovecraftian universe [which involves Cthulu or other astronomical deities] is always the place characters end up when they lose their sanity (from witnessing things beyond their comprehension or too terrible to the point of a nervous breakdown).

  • @HigherEnergy011 why do you think that this game is shit ? just be cause it is from 2k5 ? and that it is pretty challanging ?

  • can anybody can tell for which console this was??

  • @donbran92 You can play it on pc and xbox

  • @sweet9angel4lena oh thanks!

  • @donbran92 pc and xbox, you can buy it from steam

  • how do ypu go back in the inventory screen im stuck on the journal

  • Jack's voice sounds like from first Vietcong (main character) ...or not?

  • This game might be SCAREEEE, but it got me interested in Cthulhu Mythos, and as of now I am learning a lot from reading about it in books and websites.

  • that game is FUCKING scary as hell

  • this game remember's me of max payne 2:D

  • please do more of this game

  • How did he get the rope anyway to hang himself? Or does that come with the breakfast?

  • @Imakillunub3 He could use bed sheet.

  • Thankssss for the video!!! :-D

  • How many MB/GB is this? I'm thinking of torrenting it just to be scared shitless lawl.

  • is the joker in this game LOL

  • Yeah I love this Cthulhu mythology. :-) This is a great game, quite terrifying, but great. :-)

  • Yah, there's some insanity in this game isn't there.

  • @Lighter198 just smidgen

  • hey i havnt this blood on my screen when the bastard died :S

  • thank you! your vid helped me a lot x_X

  • lovecraft was odd but what he did he did well

  • Where r the coons and friends 4 tis

  • I love how they crossed over some of the better books he wrote. Particularly as I like the Innesmouth story anyway

  • Arkham Asylum!?

    Shit, look out man!

  • were are you captan heinsite!!!! rofl

  • Is there a Batman vs. Cthulhu comic?

  • What was that creature that chased you in the vent system? It killed me about 30 times before i finally escaped...

  • It kinda disrupts the atmosphere when he's calmly talking and panting in fear simultaneously. This game looks awesome though.

  • terrible main voice actor lol.

  • @mikepyro713 Are you joking? Jacks voice is awesome.

  • @Nemesis0300 Doesn't suit the breathing pattern at all though, or the character's emotions

  • @assassin296 Yes it does. It fits a 1920 detective. Not everyone can be Duke Nukem you know.

  • @Nemesis0300 Surely a 1920's detective would be shitting his pants, and his voice would go an octave higher every time something happens, the fact that he IS Duke Nukem (or more similair to him than I think is realistic) annoys me

  • @assassin296 He is thinking. Those are his thoughts. Even when I'm scared, my thoughts are pretty monotone. Do you really think he goes around talking to himself?

  • @Nemesis0300 I see your point

  • @Nemesis0300 Is it just me, or does he sound a WHOLE lot like Sephiroth from Final Fantasy?

  • @Hydrablaze3773 Wouldn't know, but I doubt it. I don't remember Serphiroth's voice sounding like that at all.

  • @Nemesis0300 Yeah, as I listened more, I changed my mind too. I think it was just at the very beginning that he sounded Sephiroth-ish.

  • i loved this game but it glitched at the car driving part and i couldnt progress

  • How is it that you move so fast, it feels like I'm moving at a snails pace!

  • this game is a crock of shite sadly. the many flaws in its gameplay ruin a brilliantly engaging plot. and the plot is the only good thing about this game.

retarded checkpoint saves mean you gotta re-run parts of the game over and over (dying CONSTANTLY until you figure it out), pain in the ass interface means youll probably open doors instead of bolting them, rubbish aiming for the large part and repetitive shootouts.

youd be better off playing F.E.A.R or silent hill

  • @Skyuss666 hahaha

  • this reminds me of the postal guy and postal except with horror

  • @IanCooked This came first, way first.

  • @Nemesis0300 lol naaaaaaaaaaaah dip

  • @IanCooked .. ?

  • SHUTTE ISLAND 2

  • at the monster in the door part (dun remember) i always go: hello? helloooooooo?

  • whenever i play this game literally shit and piss myself

  • this is a very creepy good game

  • wish theyd make a dunwich horror game. I WANT TO SEE A COMPUTER GENERATED CTHULHU!!!! CTHULHU R'LYEH!!!!

  • WTF???! Arkham Asylum??

  • @bippoilo

Where did you think the Batman writers got it from? Arkhman's a place in the CoC universe. Written back in the 20s.

  • 0:21 When did Batman come into this?

  • Batman is from GOTHAM City! Arkham Asylum turns up in Vampires :The Masquerade

  • @unkwonstudios No where?

  • @Mrmuffin54 at the beginning the asylum is called Arkhum thats from batman

  • @unkwonstudios No batman took that from H.P Lovecraft. Lovecraft wrote a book a way long time ago about Arkham Asylum.

  • @unkwonstudios here people, Lovecraft created the Arkham city back in 1920, if I'm not mistaken. It was first mentioned on the Lovecraft's tale "The picture in the house". It's an imaginary city. Therefore everybody who isn't Lovecraft who mentions it on his works is copying this idea.

  • when marvel stoie arkahm

  • @1acount it was DC comics, not marvel man. Batman decided to lock up his villains on this asylum... we cant do anything though... :(

  • u don't have an Hd option WTF is up with that???

  • this was uploaded in 2007, dumbass

  • The protagonist is very blasé to death.

'Blood splatters his face' "Oh look, a key!"

  • the voice actors were pretty mediocre for this game

  • 6:05 WTF?

  • game play reminds me of myst,

  • on a serious note. im kinda new to Lovecraft im ashamed to say but i only discovered him a year ago which sucks because ive been reading for about 12 years now and i feel like ive missed out...anyways how close is this game to his writings? If i watch this walkthrough will it give me a sense of the feeling of his writings?

  • Yeah, it takes the spirit of his writings pretty well.

Best lovecraftian game, in my opinion.

  • @Hardcorrison If you don't know already it is a retelling of the shadow over innsmouth

  • @Hardcorrison Batman Arkham Asylum ... -.-' probaly a failed joke.

  • i love lovecraft

  • any one here ever played the board game arkham horror?

  • I didn't played it but i've heard 'bout it. Seems pretty decent and interesting.

  • yeah its good

  • It's a game. it was made in 2005. Methinks the Batman universe took the Arkham Asylum from the Lovecraftian universe as an homage.

  • I love HP......batman needs to get his OWN shit. I have Call of Cthulhu now

  • is this by any chance from the batman universe cos i swear the name of the asylum is arkham asylum O_o

  • batman got that name from the story by hp lovecraft

  • Whoa. Looks like you just opened Stargate there, pal.

  • lol "we've been expecting you... *BLAM*"

  • wtf arkham asylum

  • one of my favorite games i have for xbox!

  • Batman stole it from Lovecraft.

  • Taken from lovecraft.

  • Old game but it looks awesome I'll prolly buy it.

  • "we've been expecting you Mr. Walt...boom headshot!

  • 6:30 dipshit haha

  • Hey look, it's deadhand from LOZ Ocarina of time!!

  • 16/2 ?that my birthday

  • Best detective game out. Condemned is ok but it will never beat this. I just got a copy off my friend whos to scared to play it

  • can you blame him?

  • A game is a game, I just keep thinking that when I get scared :D

  • haha true dat :D

  • 4 Player Podcast make this game popular again. Where do you get a copy? I'd love to try it out.

  • lol, I just got through lookin at their vid before I saw this one, Your COMPLETELY right! :D

  • BATMAN duh duh duh duh duh duh BATMAN!!!!!1

  • No. This game was based on an old story by horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. He made up a town called arkham and it was famous for it's asylum. The creators of Batman took arkham asylum.

  • @Ookamidragon So Arkham Asylum wasn't originated from batman comics?

There's quite little info about it in internet.

  • @Ookamidragon I read a story a while back that described Bob Kane (co-creator of Batman) met Lovecraft on a train and later developed a relationship through correspondence.

It's said that he put in Arkham Asylum as a homage to his friend. But I doubt that's true since Arkham made its first appearance in the Batman comics during the 1980's. Bob Kane hadn't been involved with Batman since the 1940's.

  • @Ookamidragon Yep, I researched it to make sure. When i saw the sign for Arkham, although Arkham, is a real aylum, and also Gotham was another name for New York. So Arkham Asylum is in New York, made sure of that, too. :)

  • miskatonic > M.I.T.

  • i dont know if you are being serious or not, Arkham was one of the towns that lovecrafth invented for setting his storyes

  • "Ah, we've been expecti-"

    SPLAT!

    "No big deal."

  • Digital Distribution dumbass

  • can eneyone tell me whats the song at 1:03? :)

  • Smile At Me, Baby

  • this game is based of the books from HP lovecraft the greatest author ever

  • looks like a cool game and a little scary or very scary ;) i dunno

  • This game has best story I have ever played....

  • i love this game :)

  • wait, did that sign say "Arkham Asylum"? Is this taking place in Gotham City or something?

  • Arkham was one of the settings of Lovecraft's stories. Undoubtedly influenced the writers of Batman/DC comics.

  • That does it, I am now going to start narrating my life like the character. "A Pillow, this could come in handy. ANOTHER PILLOW!"

  • I've gotta' agree with MisKaTake.

If you don't spend the money to help the company prosper, they either go under or wind up being VERY clingy to their copyrights.

For example, if everyone downloaded Dead Space, EA would go around taking Dead Space videos down off of YouTube...

Buy the product, don't be a pirate...

  • You can buy games online through services like steam (including Dead Space). It's all perfectly legal.

  • Eat Shit and Die ! you mouthy little cocksucker!! I work for my money and will spend it as I want... Now go creep back into you're mommy's basement and jerk of like you always do you fucking little goof!!

  • I wish I could find more games that scared me.. hell, even just some goosebumps and mild creeps... anyone have suggestions for me? any good horror games I should check out?

  • DeadSpace, Silent Hill-Home Comeing. those are the only 2 games that gave me goose bumps. esp. dead space.

  • Hey thanks a lot man! I am downloading Dead Space right now

    ~peace

  • Fear 1 and 2

  • i played dead space in dark at night headphones on. it´s not that scary.

  • bioshock, Resident evil, and ignore that guy, The first few silent hills are much scarier. Check out silent hill 2. Its widely regard as the scariest game of all time. Maybe not for you, but check it out anyway.

Also, fatal frame is also supposed to be pretty scary. just a few suggestions

  • Good point, theknack101

For Silent Hill 2, the soundtrack and the ambien sounds also played a key part. The music wasn't fast-paced you a player didn't get that "fight or flight" adrenaline rush that takes the edge off the fear. Instead it was creepy and discordant, making the player even more unsettled. Also, the ambient sounds were invaluable- more often than not, what you *didn't * see was just as scary - and sometimes even moreso - than what you did see.

  • double true

  • How do you guys doesn't get scared by horrorfiy games? I mean I get scared and even I bought the game I just stand there and not doing anything. I know it's just the game, but I never got used to it.

  • lol same here, i bought fatal frame 2 brand new for 70$ last summer. that game is like exinct and its especially hard to get it brand new. so i got it and i played for 30 minutes and its just too scary lol i cant play it

  • Fatal Frame 2 doesn't look quite scare *if you're watching on youtube for walkthrough* But FF1 and maybe 3 are the most scary one. FF2 is mostly about extorcits the spirit and stuff. The spirit doesn't pop right in our face or anything. FF1 is the best scary game I ever watch included Serien. Hmm I can't even believe Asian games are the best and scariest.

  • they where suppose the make one like madness mountain or something but they cancelled it :(

  • Don't ya hate it when prologues are actually epilouges? And then it says "9,000,000 years later?

  • wut console is this?

  • PC i believe

  • thanks for putting this up!!! this was one of those games i never quite got around to playing . it looks like it was a really cool and creepy game!

  • Reminds me of Penumbra:) Both are underrated, sadly. Does this game have any physics?

  • Arkhum Asylum? i thought that was in batman

  • The batman name was a tribute to HP Lovecraft's asylum of the same name... so this is the original.

  • The name originated from H P Lovecraft's works, so this is the original...

  • Comment removed by author

  • whats the point in even posting this comment like WTF

  • whos cthulhu?

  • Comment removed

  • How did i miss this game, i might pick it up :O

however, the guy got blood splattered in his face. then hes like "oh yay, a key!" but i suppose it wasnt in the cut scene.

  • Arkham Asylum?...Isn`t that the mental hospital in Batman sends his baddies into?

  • Batman used Arkham Asylum as a refrence to HP Lovecrafts Arkham which was a place. I'm very glad someone else noticed this

  • why running away?

  • cooool, I'm playing it and Im stuck at 1st level, lol.

good game and thanks for uploading m8.

  • arkhum asylum?? like in batman lol

  • so what exactly is Cthulhu? according to legend i mean

  • C'thulhu isn't in legends. C'thulhu is the creation of H.P.Lovecraft a pulp author of the 1920s. C'thulhu is supposed to be an incredibly ancient alien creature of enormous size and intelligence equivalent to a god by our standards. He is technically dead, but reanimates and arises along with his ancient city when the stars are right. He is usually depicted as vaguely humanoid, slimy, with an octopus head and bat-like wings. He enjoys humans the way we like popcorn.

  • so he looks roughly like a mindflayer with bat wings?

  • Well, mindflayers are generally clothed in robes. C'thulhu has already slipped into something more comfortable... :D

  • wait, how is a robe not comfortable D:

  • OK, that comment is both disturbing in the visual imagery it implies, and is awesome as well :)

  • yum, i love extra buttered popcorn, you know like when cartman plays "lambs"

  • I never really cared for popcorn though.

  • But you have probably noticed the way people who do like popcorn seem to munch their way through endless stacks of the stuff. I suspect C'thulhu prefers to eat North Africans the most, because they're moorish.

  • ? was that a racist statement nigga?

  • No, it was a pun nigga.

  • ahh i loved this game, never got to finish it due to my xbox breaking apart, but now i can watch it thanks to you!!

  • download it for pc. it is avaible. in so called

Torrent worlds accord to a friend of mine.

  • Arkham Asylum...

Isn't that name from batman universe?

  • i think it is

  • Arkham Asylum is named after the asylum from H.P. Lovecraft's stories.

  • Arkham Asylum was named in honor of the fictional city of Arkham, Massachusetts, one of the settings of H. P. Lovecraft's horror stories. Inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft, the asylum was created by Dennis O'Neil and first appeared in Batman #258(1974).
