For People Who Live There At The Moment, What Is It Like? Do You Enjoy Living There? Would You Recomend Me Living There? Is It Expensive To Live Out There?
what i love about cyprus at the moment is the brand new hotel in north cyprus its soo beautiful its called "Kaya Artemis Resort" and it is 4th best hotel in the world at the moment i stayed there too and it was the BEST holiday i ever head...i recommend it to everyone! :) great landing to!
hmm well it shouldnt be diffucalt if didnt get ur passport stamped by the south side but i know a lot of people who fly to north cyprus that got their passports stamped and they didnt have any problems and what a lot of people do is fly to south side and cross over on land...that has no problems we do that everytime :)
We must mention that this is a rather unusual approach because you`ve landed on runway 04. At Larnaca the runway in operation during 99% of the time is runway 22.The reason why 04 is rarely the runway in use (except that the wind is mostly blowing from the west) is that there is no ILS for that approach- which means the pilot flew manually the whole approach, or the bigger part of it, and that`s why the landing could`ve been a little bumpy.
Yeah I thought it was strange not using reverse thrust. We never used it on our return to newcastle aswell. I belive it's there SOP not to use it when possible to stop the wear and tear on the reversers.

North Cyprus? So it is Turkish?
acdcguyforever 3 years ago
yupp its pure turkish :) why is that a problem? lol
husocuk1 3 years ago
yeah it is, the Turkians conquered it so 30 years ago and it's difficult to get in if you were in South Cyprus before.

Whenever I fly with Thomson now they never use reverse thrust :( , but when they were Britannia they used it all the time.
civagiarn 4 years ago
i fly 3q8's out of coventry ..... sometimes reversers arent needed although this is entirely dependany on current situatuaion....
i would say 95% of the time reversers are used

Oh are there any regulations for the 757s and 767s? Cos I fly a lot with Thomson and usually they select idle reverse.
civagiarn 4 years ago
reverse thrust reduces the fan life and is only about 20 percent effective in stopping the aircraft most of it is done by breaks falps air breaks etc
