doublebassheeltoe Title of this 1996 program is Defiant Heart: The Music of Dmitri Shostakovich - Fourth Ballet Suite plus 1812 overture by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky
@doublebassheeltoe This 1996 program is entitled Defiant Heart: The Music of Dmitri Shostakovich - Fourth Ballet Suite * First Symphony, Second Movement * Fifth Symphony, Fourth Movement
@wildhornbrass I haven't. I play snare drum, but I've still got four years before my drum corps life kicks the bucket. I'm mostly involved in indoor percussion though, so drum corps just may not happen.
@JPHawk2011 To keep it in the EXACT key it was originally played in, JD definitely did SUPER WORK! If you're going to take an excerpt like that and use it as an encore piece, just leave it sounding like we all remember it. And that's what was done here, and I'm frozen in amazement!
@guitarmansegovia oh absolutely. The one comment I have is that this performance benefits from the increase in numbers in the hornline (specifically in the euph and contras). WOW.

the first piece is an excerpt from Shostakovich's Limpid Stream. They opened their show in 96 with it.
