I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, and I stumbled across your video from months ago when your friend told you she was pregnant. I was heartbroken for you, and actually cried watching the video...rare for me! Imagine my heartfelt excitement when I skipped to your newest video and discovered that you are expecting a sweet baby girl!!! I am beyond thrilled for you and your family!!! I wish you all the best on your new journey and appreciate the videos you have posted so much! Congrats!! ♥
I didn't use a pacifier or a bottle- I went from breast to sippy cup! haha ( obviously- I dont recommend that- I just hated the plastic nipples!) Don't let people scare you into making parenting decisions that aren't ones you feel comfortable with. Its your baby and you have enough common sense to make good decisions. Obviously talking to your doctor is a must- but moms usually know best.. :)
my son never took a paci! don't know why people would say you are crazy for not wanting her to have one, i agree with you! my son is going to be 1 3/9 and NEVER took it, he did in the hospital but that was it...i'm currently pregnant with baby # 2 hoping that this baby doesn't take a paci either! :] good luck!!! <3
OMGosh! I thought you deleted your channel, I'm so happy that ur still here! You are just such a joy to follow! God bless you and your sweet family! :)
I'm so happy to see you are back, I can't wait to see how your last weeks go and how you like cloth diapering once the baby gets here. Wishing you the best always.
watched your vlog of you finding out that you are pregnant and now watching some of your vlogs on being pregnant... i really really think your hair looks so much nicer with out the extensions i know you probably dont care but honestly i think the extensions all the make up makes you look older than you actually probably are. Im not saying this to be mean i just think its a shame as i feel you would no much prettier with more of a natural look than so made up all the time.
We just had a little one from this area pass from SIDS and Ive done alot of searching..The top Drs say that Paci's deff help with sids..Along with sleping on their back never in your bed or on the couch not that Id ever see you do that you look like awesome parents ...
No paci ?! Haha good luck with that! Well it actually depends on little Hartlee. My brother, who will be 7 months on Friday, NEEDS his paci - wont sleep without it, but my lil cousin always rejected it. So you never know.
I absolutely love watching ur vids. Im due 2 weeks after you so it's really nice 2 see how different out pregnancies have been. Must say though, is there ever a day when you dont look beautiful?? haha. Wishing you all the best
OMG!!! I went in for a 2nd ultrasound today bc they couldn't get a good reading of baby's kidneys first time around... Anyhow, hubby & I found out we r having a boy! So... We now have to return every girl things n change our registry! ;/
My daughter took a paci and she would not give it up, I did take it away at 12 months. My son on the other hand refused a paci and does self soothe but he does suck his thumb :(
HI MandD627 - I have been watching ur vides all the way from Oz - wishing u the best for the arrival of ur little one. WHen are u due? U will be a great mum so enjoy the experience.
i know you just got a ton of cleaning stuff but in the future, vinegar and baking soda will clean pretty much anything you can think of and is totally safe. a lot of those products that advertise they are safe, really have a lot of nasty chemicals in them :)
Lots of stuff! I was against a pacifier too, but my son just needed something to help soothe, I gave in around 4 days old, thankfully I brought one home from the hospital because I hadn't bought one...he took it for 2 months and now sucks his thumb occasionally!
i love watching your videos! I remember being as excitied as you are when I was pregnant! Your going to be a great mother! The pacifier topic...my son never wanted them! So hopefully your daughter wont! cant wait for more videos!
@MadeInChina81 Orthapedic reasons was a big issue with my sons, but as long as you break them before their teeth start forming it doesn't seem like a problem other than them getting too dependant on them.
Also, Ive noticed that when babies fall asleep eating then you lay them down and let them keep sleeping, that is NOT good. Because then they wake up without it in their mouth and wont fall asleep til they have it. Thats not good for self soothing. It would be like you falling asleep with your pillow then waking up at 2 am without it, if that makes sense. So always wake your baby if that happens, not a good habit at all, very hard to break because it effect self soothing badly. =)
(continueing the second comment haha sorry) So using the paci did not give her trouble later on with self soothing, which was something I worried about. But my little cousin who is 15 months old has a paci in all day every day because her mother puts it in right when shes done eating til the next time shes eating again.. Ive babysat her a few times I took the paci out as soon as she got here and she didnt use it again til her mom picked her up, not even for nap time. So thats the parents fault..
(This continues from my first comment, ran out of space) Now shes 14 months old and has been falling asleep fine ever since she stopped using her paci. There were a few times when she'd have a little trouble falling asleep after but she was also having teeth break through and sometimes id give her the paci to fall asleep. But when she wasnt having teething trouble she wouldnt even take the paci once she decided she didnt want it anymore, and she had no trouble with self soothing to fall asleep
My sisters son is 2 months old and he spits out the paci as soon as you put it in, he prefers to snuggle with his blankie. So hes already like figured out that blankies are soothing for him, without even being swaddled. It depends on the baby. Some babies like to comfort suck. My daughter only used one to fall asleep sometimes then she'd pop it out herself a few minutes after she fell asleep and completley stopped using them by herself a little while after her first 2 teeth came in at 6 months.
I have 3 children and non of them ever wanted a paci. I would put it in their mouth and as soon as they realized there was nothing in it (no milk), they spit it out. lol
we only used a paci for a few weeks with my daughter and usually only during diaper changes... so keep one on the changing table it will be a lifesaver...
I am for pacifiers, it always seemes to calm my son if he was upset, i think its the sucking motion or something lol. He only ever uses it for nighttime to sleep or naps. And when he was a baby though he would always drop it or it was fall out, but he really wanted it in his mouth so sometimes we would have to hold it there for him to keep it in lol.
I don't think you're crazy at all for not wanting her to use a pacifier! For one, it will be one less thing to break her of. And one less thing to remember when leaving the house :) None of my girls used them. The nurses in the hospital tried giving them but we never offered them at home. We just figured out what they needed. Some babies have that sucking reflex which in that case you may have to but if not then you should be good! Good luck with your little angel!
My son never wanted pacifiers. He seemed so confused about them and to this day (he's 16 months old now) he just chews on them...we didn't try to shove them in his face or anything but everytime he got a hold of one, he would cut a new tooth lol
Make sure you keep reciepts! I wish someone would've told me how little you really need to take care of a child but it's so fun buying for them. I have so many unused items from when my daughter was a baby that either she didn't like to use or was just not really needed. They grow fast!
My sister was the same way with the pacifer. But she did start using one within like a month after she was born. But she weened her from her by the time she was like 9-10 months old so she wasnt using it that long. You got such cute stuff from this baby shower and your personal buys! Clearence sales are awesome!
I gave my daughter a pacifier, and she spit it out in 2 seconds so I never tried again. If you don't give them to your daughter, you won't have to go through the trouble of getting them away from her, or having to find one she lost just so she'll take a nap!
You are definitely set. I think you've shown us baby buys for her clothes, but would love to see her closet which seems to be very well stocked! And I love, love, love her name.

I know I like brand new merchandise for my baby but I found carriers at savers that cost $2.50!
And people who donate their items most of the time are clean anyways :)

Can someone please tell me why not to use a pacifier? Just cuz they get into the habit of it or are there other "medical/technical" reasons?

I gave my daughter a pacifier, and she spit it out in 2 seconds so I never tried again. If you don't give them to your daughter, you won't have to go through the trouble of getting them away from her, or having to find one she lost just so she'll take a nap!
