Poor Richard, his characters always get the shaft... when writers decided to have Guy kill Marian it pretty much killed the entire series. He's such a phenomenal actor and added the depth to North's character that a script alone can't create. Your video is awe-some! Great clips timed perfectly to the song (can't ever go wrong with Coldplay!) and the action sequences at the end were so powerful, I got emotional watching the rise and fall of such an amazing character. Thanks for the tribute : )
Going into series 10 tomorrow looking forward to seeing Harry and Ruth again but still absolutely heartbroken what they did to our wonderful Lucas...He was the most incredible,beautiful but tortured soul...Richard you were amazing...So sorry what the writers did in series 9...at least we have these brill vids to watch...thankyou so much Heather for giving me my fav Lucas vid

I thought your selection of song, your fades and vid cuts as well as your frame selections were spot on. Truly great. I am still grief-stricken over what they did to this noble character and the song is so poignant that it moves me to tears. I can't really watch much of S9 because it breaks my heart. There is so much hate and sadness in the world that this is not the place for more of it.

@HeathDances Actually I hated him from the get-go. I don't like Richard Armitage and I hated his character as Lucas. And actually I don't think Spooks sucks. The Sugarhorse and Nightingale storylines were awesome. But I never liked Lucas and am frankly glad he's gone. He sucked more than Sasha Grey.

@lorrainewands You can find episodes online. Message me if you need links. Spooks is a great show, it's probably one of the best I've seen, it's truly the ONLY show I know that is SO unpredictable. I also recommend watch Merlin, Doctor Who, or Torchwood, they are all British shows that are wonderful, although I don't know if you are a Sci-Fi or fantasy fan. But either way, these three shows are personal favorites of mine along with Spooks.
I think he should be the next james bond after daniel craig. He'd be an amazing bond i think, he's perfect for it, tall, dark, handsome and english, and the right age.
He's what a leading man should be and look like, he can do the dark brooding stuff like guy in robin hood or thornton in north and south. And he can also do the romantic sensitive stuff too, he's wonderful and sexy.
Oh that is so tragic. And yet there is so much pretty in there. You definitely need an award for video editing. That was one of the best videos I've ever seen. I adore Lucas and Richard. *sigh*

Hi HeathDances! I just wanted to tell you that thanks to this video I've gotten completely hooked on Coldplay!! I have of course heard them before but I didn't think much of them. And then I got to really listen to the lyrics of "Fix you" and OMG I just felt like crying and smiling at the same time!! What a lovely comfort to think that "Lights will guide me home". And lovely Lucas North is really someone you would like to cuddle up with... He seem like someone who really need some tender care...

What a superb job! The part at 2:48ish is so progessional and well done. The increasing pace, nearly frenetic near the end fits perfectly, as does the slower pace at "i will try to fix you." Remarkable talent, thanks for posting. And so glad to hear your mom and aunt are going strong. Those of us who've lost people to cancer know how important support is....know that alot of complete strangers will keep your mom and aunt in their thoughts, sending good wishes...

Beautifully made. I am addicted to RA lately. This show comes on in the states but it is about 3 seasons behind where I am located. (sigh) This is the only Lucas North source I have so feel free to post anything else in the future with RA as LN.

Heather! Just another comment to say that this video is perfect from the beginning to the end. Awesome timing, brilliant "grid" effects, fantastic overlays... I could continue a lifetime!!
And I noticed that you edited the song? The CD version I bought (thanks to your vid BTW) is 45 seconds longer.
If so, then I have to add that the audio 'cut' is completely unnoticed. FANTASTIC editing!

Hi HeathDances! I just wanted to tell you that thanks to this video I've gotten completely hooked on Coldplay!! I have of course heard them before but I didn't think much of them. And then I got to really listen to the lyrics of "Fix you" and OMG I just felt like crying and smiling at the same time!! What a lovely comfort to think that "Lights will guide me home". And lovely Lucas North is really someone you would like to cuddle up with... He seem like someone who really need some tender care...

I just realized this was a Coldplay song, and that Richard once said in an interview he loved Coldplay and was looking forward to their concert in Budapest. Did this affect your choice of the music for the video?

Actually it didn't! I remember him saying that but I picked the song because of what it means to me and how I was feeling at the time with my mom and aunt but I also felt it fit the character Lucas North too. ;-) Thanks for the comments!!

I've just been on my first trip to London/England ever - and it was great! Of course I did hope to see darling Richard - but NO I didn't. :o(

HeathDances, needless to say many of us romantics at heart have been moved to tears by your exquisite videos and this is a prime example. You have a gifted knack of matching every lyric of a perfect song with the absolute scenes!! I watch this video of a heartbreaking RA as Lucas North at least once a day. I'm soo happy for you and your family....But it made me think about my own father who died of cancer 2 years ago... Life is precious and we better make the best of it while we can... AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL. Your video touched me in two ways. You presented Lucas's story so beautifully, it really made me sympathise with him. Perfect song. The second reason is your comment about your mom&aunt, and I had that in mind, too, as I watched the vid. About 6 months ago, I felt the same way, because of my uncle who is now free of cancer (hope it lasts). So, my sympathy goes to you too. Hold on. Cheers!
