  • I got a typewriter at an auction for 5 bucks, sold it on ebay for 36 bucks, which sucked, because someone else sold the exact typewriter , in the same exact conditon for 135.00 a few days before my auction ;(

  • I got 7 in my collection; all can be used, and I am looking for more. However, in your video, I saw a remington 12, which I saw at a junk store; I offered him 20 and he declined; a week later there is a hundred dollar tag on it; and the machine is practically in shambles! Rust, paint chip, keys stuck, ribbon spools are MIA, and all the levers are stuck. Is he truly overcharging? I thought so, but I am not a genius when it comes to pre 40s typewriters. I only have two from the 30s.

  • @DemitriRas I definitely believe he was overpricing. $20 sounds like a fair offer. The Remington 12 is a very common machine, you should be able to find one in decent condition for a reasonable price.

  • cool vid, you did a really good job, I was particularly impressed with the inclusion of all the toy typewriters, some of which looked pretty functional, once upon a time .....

  • you mean people are still into Typewriters??? O^O WOW

  • @Dreambro1

Yes. There are about 1000 collectors/enthusiasts worldwide.

  • @jmorton528 More than that dude, I think

  • @jmorton528 add me. i am not a collector, but a disappointed enthusiast.

  • @jmorton528 I've got a Olympia SM9 typewriter this week-end with german keyboard and white keys. Do you have one like that? Mine has really been shipped to the US. I think the immigrators that had them decide they didn't need it anymore. Happy me, i have been looking for one for a while. For $5,00 that's a steal. Including the case.

  • @DrTypewriter I do have an Olympia SM9. It was manufactured for sale in the United States, so it has the standard Universal QWERTY keyboard.

  • @Dreambro1 I heard that people are shutting down there collections because of the space and what typewriters cost these days. Most people who collect typewriters live close to big cities and live in Europe but where i live people don't have that much money and can't afford them. I just collect the penny's and nickle's i find on the street. From those finds i bought a Olympia SM9 with german keyboard for $5,- at the junk store. ka-ching!

  • I have a mint Royal 10!

  • damn I want your underwood no. 5

  • I found the No. 5 that is seen on my website at a yard sale for $20. It is in MINT condition. It is a very common model, though. You should be able to find one, just like I should be able to find an Underwood No. 4. Also, look on eBay. Very popular model.

  • wow in the the first typewriters in the vid i never saw in my life thanks for the bit of history :-)
