Hold on, one moment the DFS molten furniture was only halfway in the one, the next, it was coming out from under the door, oh those crazy folk at ITC. Thank you for posting this classic programme.
2090?! Not even by 2190. Still, interesting twist on an old idea; in the TZ episode "Five Characters..." there's not even any explanation given as to why they are self-aware. And this one was a little less downbeat, somehow. But boy, the future will be tacky.
This got boring really fast but even though I had already figured out the ending (this was super similar to a Twilight Zone episode) this ending was less depressing and slightly absolutely adorable.
The greatest mystery and suspense of this show to me are all the comments from people who have seen this when it was first broadcast.....and they're watching it again?!?
I have been looking for this film for twenty four years! I saw it as a child and i could not take my eyes off it! as I was only a child so could not remember the name of it or who was in it! been searching years!! great to watch again!!
I'm thirsty can I have some water please,..... No you can't, because I noticed that the water had ran out then gulped down the last of it myself straight away!!!! hahaha
what the helll...obviously this is too clever...If there is no logical explanation..then it has to be the most obviously the most irrational explanation
Oh... CTM... Nunca creí volver a ver de nuevo esta serie.... xD.... Me pasaba lo mismo que a PhailWynn, kahkjahkja, la tenía guardada en mi cabeza y si se la mencionaba a alguien nadie la recordaba.
it seems all the 25/something years old have been searching for this movie all these years! And me too! this is truly child-shocking if we've been trying to see it again all along
They are toy's in a toy house. Yeah! Fucking great! I remember watching this alone on a monday night. I live in London, England and this series would come on after the 10 o'clock news or 9 o'clock on a sunday. Chills and thrills at the same time. I remember this so clearly, that's this story's power. We should all use our imaginations more, just like this. I was about 9-10 when I saw this. Now I am 40. This is a GOOD story.
@Loosecrewproductions yeha!!!that' the same for me i talked about this movie for years but no one know it!i'm not crazy !the movie really exist and now i will tell this to all my friends!
@dogfaced yes!!!!!in my life and i'm 29 y.o i'd searched for years no one know it.but i see that a lot of people sarching for it!i'm hppy that it does exist!
I can't thank you enough....I watched this one night at my grandparents, back when it first came out, on ITV in the UK - I was about 13-14 years old. I ask people about it often and very few remember it, and those who do only have vague memories. It really stuck in my memory all my life since. I've occasionally searched Hammer DVD's to see if it got released, but it was never one of the episodes chosen. Again, thanks so much.
@slitheen i got this movie on my head for years (20)!!!!and i see that i'm not alone for the age was a great strange movie!and still today i found it creepy and i think it will happends for real!
@carriersignal THATS EXACTLY where i saw it too! It scared the HELL out of me back then as a kid and i've searched for it for YEARS until finally solving the mystery tonight! :) Now THIS is a scary flick!
@samprofit1 There were only 3 things in the movies that troubled me as a child, the green stuff coming down the chimney in this movie, The Exorcist, and those damn robots that took there faces off in The Bionic woman episodes. Jesus!! I was always looking at shit I had no business looking at as a child and always wound up paying for it. Summer after summer (school break) I would go through countless nightlight bulbs cause I was allowed to stay up a little to late!!
@EddieRevenge : No. They're not humans, they're miniature toy robots in a future human child's doll's house. There's the dialogue about replacing the emotion circuits, plus the "Universal Automata" thing right there at the end.
I was looking for this movie. I saw it in Italy around 2am when I was a child and none of my friend did. Maybe the aliens are playing with us humans? Muahahahaha :)
thank you. THANK YOU. you know, i saw this hammerhouse movie on the morning my 8th birthday. I didn't remember the name of the show, the series it belonged to, the actors and barely the plot.
I have been looking to find this again for almost TWENTY YEARS. For twenty years, i tried to explain this movie to people. No one knew what i was talking about. I thought i was going crazy.
@PhailWynn I felt the same way too! XD I saw it as a kid on USA Network's Saturday Nightmares WAY back in the 80's and could NEVER get anyone to remember this besides me. Glad to see i'm not alone! :) Thank you SO much for posting this tvparty1974!
@samprofit1 yes me too in italy there was a friday series called "uncle bone" and it's long time ago....nothing heard about this movie that stuck on my head for years till now!!!i'm very happy.
@PhailWynn i cant believe it but the same happends to me.i searched for this movie since 20 years,tr to explain it...but nothing till now!!!i have to say that i remember the movie a lil bit diffrent from this, but maybe because i was 6-7 years old and things in memory sometimes they seems diffrent!maybe there was a remake about this movie???dunno but i'm happy now!!!
@PhailWynn I just want to say that I was thinking about that very same movie not too long ago! I watched that as a kid (in French) here in Canada and I must have been around 8 yrs old too! I did exactly the same as you; I asked people, looked online, etc...and finally got the answer now! Thanks for this!
thank you so much for posting this! I seen this when I was a kid & never forgot the image of the blue melting candy! I haven't seen this in like 20 years! Thanks again!!
Thanks for posting this: I had nightmares about this since I saw it when I was 3 or 4 years old and now 25 years later I can finally see the whole thing :)
I love this movie!!! Weird but wonderful!!! God damn it that symbol is gonna be stuck in me head now everytime i see an Opel motor coz it's similar. Also the female lead looks the spit of Liv Tyler. Over all i really enjoyed re-living the first time i seen it!!! Classic!!!
in the twilight zone, there's this espisode where i think 5 people stuck in a trash can. They think they're kidnapped and can't get out... after hours of trying, a guy got all the way up. and It turns out a little girl picked him up and put him back in. They were dolls. It was a Man, A Clown, A Ballerina, A Bum (i think)...
one of my first memories from tv is people trapped in a house with green goo. at least 20 years since i first saw this. i was probably thrilled, and scared shitless because the memory remained.
Thank you so much for posting this, its like finding a long lost piece of the puzzle. cheers from Norway!

I loved this episode(thought it was a stand-alone movie at the time), totally freaked me out when i was 12 or 13 but still loved it.. I only just today, found out what it was called.
The Twilight Zone episode only featured a couple who couldn't remember waking up in a strange house. They were able to leave the house but the entire town was the girls playset. I believe the couple were kidnapped and brought onto another planet, than placed in the playset!
