  • Guys please stop complaining that this is not Ritchie Blackmore' sound. You all simply misinterpreted the title. The AMP is the Ritchie Blackmore signature model, hence his name in the title, and this is the sound of the lead channel.

Well, I find it is not well recorded (which is not easy) and it sounds a LOT better in reality, but that is a different question.

The ENGL 650 Ritchie Blackmore is completely different from all other Engl amps in that it provides a lot more oldschool sound.

  • This vid is more like "how to get the best sound of an engl amp" but it has NOTHING to do with the sound of Ritchie Blackmore! Sorry dude :D

  • @markusernstberger this amp is not a blackmore amp in first instance. it's just an engl, and engl means hi-gain. accept that!

  • i couldn't agree more.

  • Seymour Duncans on Strat and a Marshall that's the sound. And this isn't it

  • @theRealFretslider ENGL >>>>>>>> marshall! ENGL is tight as fuck, is way better for metal and have the nicest solo soud ever (morse , broderick, loomis, orianthi)

  • This isn't anything like Blackmore's sound

  • @theRealFretslider no, not at all.. i have it myself, and i was like "wtf"

  • @theRealFretslider Who said it is?

  • Great demo Chatreeo! Really showed off the tonal possibilities much more so than the other demos I've seen. Salute!

  • thanks a lot man, you helped me finding the best settings for my amp :-)

  • I hate you CHATREEO

  • Blue light????? The mine came with amber lights... You changed it??

I thinking about doing the same: change the lights for reds or blue leds instead the amber ones.

  • Sloppy playing?!! You're having a laugh, right, MrRagorawk?

That playing is more than adequate for an amp demonstration.

Please refer me to your video demonstration so that I can compare playing techniques.

  • @leslawrenson to my ears not playing is sloppy but guitar is out of tune.

  • Can any 1 tell me, is it ok if my tubes are not so bright like here?? I only got a tiny light that is barely seen. The tubes are new JJ 6L6 GC and and ECC83 S.

  • @zupanman23 play louder ! :) only get realy hot on high volumes :) but not blue , this amp got leds .

  • @warhammerIII Ok :P Hey, what do you think is better... More volume and less gain or more gain and less volume?

  • @zupanman23 hehe , what I think is better ? that is up to what music you wanna play ? less gain = clean "er" and volume just mekes it louder , well a sligt diffrent tone do you get whith and tube amp but not that much , I play whith gain at 8 and volume at 3 . cuz if I turn my amp up more, I and noone can hear the rest of the band, and we play rock / metal .

  • @warhammerIII Heh nice. Well the main problem at me is that just when i bought the amp i quit my band, so now i only use it for practice sometimes when i really want some kick ass sound :P But i did had some concerts with it, so i did open it a little but i think only at volume 3-4 and gain around 8 xD

  • @zupanman23 well , I dont see a problem, exept that youre not in an band ! :P and practice is good ! I use software alot at home when I practice , but an real amp is much more fun to play , if you like the light ? bye some lights for an computer and put in the amp, and it should look like that , and try to get in an new band, cuz its fun to play , and least , dont sell youre amp, " If youre not byeing a new one" , :P cheers !

  • @warhammerIII Hell yeah man, im not selling this amp and if it would be the end of the world :D Yeh im putting some friends together so we will start some power metal band (i really dont like power metal but better to be in a band then nothing...), but i really want to get some ppl that like to listen to some underground black metal... Like wolves in the throne room, Drudkh, Skagos... But most of the ppl listens to poor mainstream music that sucks -.-

  • @zupanman23 All true ! Good luck to you ! hope you get that band together soon and have alot of fun ! Cheers !

  • out of tune - uh yeah no duh. The guy is quite a good shredder and picker though.

  • Personally, I prefer the red LED's as they add a hot and burning effect. Maybe ENGL has changed its colours or has various colours for different countries.

Even if the guitar's out of tune, it's still a great demo and love these amps. Listen to the sustain at 2:57.

  • -out of tune,dude-

hmmm, this engl sounds close to my 5150

  • why do you have blue lights did you change the tubes

  • lol, that arent the tubes which lights the engls inside.. there are leds.

  • @Jaymz0r That's right however in the UK the led's are red and I prefer that to blue.

  • El de mi novioo...estaa mas xuli!! es con las valvulas rojitas...jiji

  • xdoonnn!!!! son ledsss!!!!!!! jajajajajaj

  • Great amp!!!

    Great sound!!!

    nice

  • Its ok but NOT worth the $6000 preice tag. I found other european amps BETTER spounding than this. The Steve Morse was a shocker for $6000. NOT worth it unless your ARE Steve Morse!

  • 6K for a blackmore? You need to shop around.

  • NOT in Oz mate! NO suuch thing!

    Arse rape monopoly distribution!

  • WOW, 6K is super high.

  • Thats Australia for you. NO parity pricing, A New Gibson Les Paul averages over A$5K!!!

Why do you think so many here are now starting to buy BUGERAS???

Hi power, all valve, UNDER A$1K! $650-950A!!

They are that cheap because Behringer deal direct & have their own distribution here.

Whats in the UK, EU or US is 1 price, and are pretty equivalent with ea other, here can be 2.5-5x the price of elsewhere. Hence my comment 'arse rape'!

A Mesa Boggie amp will set you back around A$5K!!!

  • I know that Oz = Australia.

I am in Canada and we have slightly inflated prices on stuff like ENGL but NOTING like what you have to deal with. My Blackmore was $3000 and my Powerball was $2300. A new Les Paul is $2300.

Boogie prices here are about hte same as in the US, only slightly higher.

  • I have seen Ritchie Blackmore's in Sydney for under $3500

  • Thats a Blacmore, still WAY over priced in my book.

A Morse Engl is worth (not) $6K!

  • Here in Europe costs new 1100-1200Euros (i.e. same as a Marshall dsl 100.) Still you can find one in ebay for quite less. 6K ?? Where is that. Hey dude who made the video , your guitar is out of tune so often . WOW. check it out.

  • Re READ my above comments. I stated TWICE already where an Engl Morse 100w amp costs $6000!

  • A Engl Steve Morse costs 2000Euros in Europe. Yet again $6000 is 2.4 x price if it is USD. What kind of $ you mean ?

  • Gees you must be THICK!

I said 2 times 'in AUSTRALIA' A Morse Engl is $6000!!!

What part of 'NO price parity to the rest of the world' did you NOT understand?

    Australia= ARSE RAPE for musicians!!!

GET IT NOW???? RRP is $6000!

Thats WHY Bugera is so cheap here & is sold AT parity pricing because Behringer imports & distributes DIRECT-Therefore keeping the price DOWN!

    Get it now?

  • In the wolrd of the internet is just a fantasy to think you can only buy from a local dealer..Just for the example one can get the Steve morse from thomann for less than $3200AU , now is impossible to think that taxes are 100% (and still are other places where one may even get better price)...Anyways you can always whine about it. if that's your way...but whinning won;t bring you an amp..only some arguments.

  • Nope! A$3200 is still WAY too expensive to justify buying for an amatuer player.

NO the problem here is in the DISTRIBUTION! Most brands will have 1 distributor per state, and many middlemen in between. EACH adds a cut on top, blowing the price out of proportion compared with the REST of the world!

EG: Bugera amps (120w) sell for US$500 (A$750) the equiv PV sells for US$900! (A$1100).So why buy Bugera? In Oz the SAME PV amp (6505) Starts @ A$2500+. 2.5x the price?

    SEE now???

    Welcome 2 OZ!

  • And also WHAT if you have a warranty claim??

If you buy from o/s many dealers here, will NOT honour a warranty claim if it wasnt purchased IN Australia.

DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM HERE NOW?

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TELL ME HOW THE DYSFUNCTIONAL RETAIL SYSTEM WORKS IN MY COUNTRY!

Everything retail in this country is ABNORMAL! There is NO competition and they ALL collude with 1 another.

    THIS IS OUR ARSE RAPE!

    UNDERSTAND?

  • @ace69er Yeah I'm looking at getting an ENGL but if I want to pay less than $4200 I have to look on ebay, second hand with no warranty and no idea what condition its in! The Bugera amps are the only ones at a decent price but I've heard bad things about them. Fuck the Australian dollar and our shitty music retailers!

  • @onslow31 They are OK. The early models had some minor design flaws that caused some failures, but they are all MINOR & were easy fixes. The never models are much better.

As to the A$, has nothing to do with it! Its @ $0.92US atm.

Its the bullshit distribution for gear in this country!! 1 brand, 1 distributor per state=RORT!

Remeber, we have NO proper retail system here.

  • @ace69er Yeah Allans are the only ones who sell Bugera in SA and I refuse to buy from them as they suck major cock! - I just got a mesa from ebay for $2400 less than the shops wanted less than 1/3rd the retail price!

  • Brilliant crunch with ENGL high gain, wow.....what other rock amp is there to consider!?

  • how come the tubes re blue?

    anybody????

  • just change the leds from red to blue one.

  • What cab are this thay guy using ???, does he speake english??

  • ENGL rocks!

  • what cabinet are you using?

  • Absolutely right bro, Tony Iommi used both the Fireball and the Powerball on the latest Heaven and Hell album and he now swears by them.

Can you blame him, these amps are just evil and the Blackmore benefits from giving you a very 'clean' metal tone forcing you to play articulate and man what a crunch...I WANT ONE

  • Tony Iommi is now using these amps. if you dont believe me, go to his website

  • Did you guys know tony iomi is now "road testing" ENGL amps??

  • fuck waaaaaaw!!!!! maaan!! are u sur????

  • Yea, go to his website

  • great amp

  • I´m from Czech Republic and I know brutal death metal band Poppy Seed Grinder. PSG´s guitarist use this amp! It´s great!

  • NICE !

  • everything is cool but speak English pls

  • Having an english subtitle would be nice

  • Awesome review Chatreeo! Keep on posting!

  • Nice amp.Liked it a lot :)
