The version with Whitley and Krauss in a duet was made by a Milwaukee radio station WMIL, but has never been made available. With all the duets of songs done with one singer having their vocals added posthumously, I'm surprised that this version has not been released.

Actually what I have been able to find out is that the radio stations did a mix of them singing together. He died in 1989 far earlier than her original recording of this. Still, it was beautiful. I have been unable to find any way of getting a copy of the re-mix, but I won't give up! Keep up the good work!

I have to say, when I first heard this sung by Ronan Keating, I was struck at the simplicity and elegance of the lyrics.

While Ronan wasn't bad, I definitely preferred Alison Krauss' version. But after listening to Keith Whitley's original, it's definitely become my favorite. Great choice MrsCamui, as are the pics in your vid.
