Great!! This takes me back. I have that Reader's Digest records collection of Pop Organ greats, and Harry Stoneham is all over the place on it. I'm a huge fan of poppy reworkings of classic Beatles and Rolling Stones songs! Where did the drums come from?
@MusicBlinded51 Great song and video quality. Thank you for sharing. I only request that you add a colorful annotation somewhere on the video that says, "change this video to 720p and hear the difference in quality." or something like that. I know your message says to do so, but it would still help. Thank you so much for sharing. I just feel great listening to this song :D
@MusicBlinded51 you're welcome William :) keep making great music so the younger generation knows what real music sounds like...can't take anymore of that robotic voice sound effects they are using that they think are original. I was watching this old movie from the 1940's that was set in the 1920's and it showed the invention of that same technique homemade and I was like, really?! That technique is almost 100 years old and these pop stars today think they are trendy? Give me the classics.
Alles Gute, William.
this is awesome! what playing, and sound and picture quality! - but i am angry....at Youtube management! i dont get all notificatins from my subcsribers/subscriptions! i recently posted a note on my channel about this, well, now i have to check manually, and i am not so good at that...sorry to say... well i should need a cam with USB, the one i have dont have it, and the process of getting the vids to YT are awkward. all the best to you and your Hammond! - Levi
thank you so much for your friendly comment. I love to play my organ and it is wonderful, if other musicians enjoy my playing too. All the best for you, William.
it`s wonderful , that you have time too to hear my new upload. When I`m on your site, I see always, that you are so busy. You have so many friends and subscibers!!! But many thanks to you and all the best, William.
What a great job you do on this "oldie" William! I have never heard the Harry Stoneham arrangement, and I was quite surprised when this video started and I heard the rhythm! I would never think to play this song with "upbeat" style, but you have done an incredible job here! And, as others have mentioned, your video AND audio quality is top! Eager to hear more from you soon!
Hi David, thank you for your detailed comment. Before uploading the song, I also thought, most people will not know "Hey Jude"played this way. But the Harry Stoneham arrangement was written for that. And after the first moment of shock the most liked it, - I think. Best regards, William.
@dunlapds2 Praise from you is high praise indeed, David! I just worked William into my music treasury, on my Hammond playlist & my list of Outstanding Youtube Musicians. This sounds great on my bose speaker system, best investment I ever made !!! I LOVE how this arrangement has turned a dismal song into such a bouncy little number, but that's the magic of the electronic keyboard, yes? Any sad song can become chipper!
Excellent playing, and the sound is fantastic. I have a 100 watt speaker system on the PC, and it sounds like the organ is in the room. Great job capturing the wide range sound of the organ. With sound quality this high you should put at the beginning of your videos best sound quality at 720p. Youtube's over sampling of sound is also higher as the resolution setting is increased. This is very noticeable on higher quality sound videos.
@maynardcat What fun to come here & find all my friends - maynard, maestro dunlap & Maurizio! Why wasn't I invited to the party? ;) I added this to my Hammond Organ playlist! Do you enjoy the shares I send out once in awhile? chuck
@chkjns Hi Yes I do like shared videos. I have a few that send me videos, but not many, & I do like getting them. They sometimes find things I like that I would not find myself. I really like his playing in this video, and also the better quality microphones he used. It was very apparent when first hearing this on my larger Boston Acoustic PC speakers it wasn't the usual camcorder recording. I'm always interested in better quality sound, & the equipment & techniques they use.
And again you let me enjoy a great song with a great interpretation, I also love the style of swing, almost everything, but I must clarify that this song besides me fascinated seizes the rhythm of my body.
Just great, it fails to say so many things to describe this wonderful interpretation, because I think they all left off what I express.
thank you so much for your wonderful comment. Often words can not express, what we are feeling. But I feel, that this music reached your heart and that makes me happy. Thank you, William.
Hey William you got that spot on with a great swing feel, Harry himself would be proud of that! plus a great sound from the Elegante. I can't believe someone has given that a dislike.
thank you so much, for your friendly comment and..., -you know. It`s fine you like this swing tune. Harry played a Bebop-pace. But that`s his previleg! All the best for you, William.
Nice, that you like it too. I played this song years before, but slower. Because I did not know, that Harry Stoneham did it in a fast pace. Today I know, he played this arrangement much faster than I.
