@MrChachoputo St Thomas is a gang infested shithole. Wasnt long ago that a little kid was shot in the head and killed off a cruise ship when they were riding in a cab. Its not like it was 10 years ago. You are also likely to get robbed if you venture too far away from port.

The Danish conquered the island in 1666, and by 1672 had established control over the entire island through the Danish West India and Guinea Company.
Are you crazy? Denmark had to sell it to the U.S. The German would have took it from them if they didn't. We are now 100% American but for some unknown reason we can't vote for the president of the united states :( Well maybe one day.

This place is my favorite place in the world. I have been to the USVI and BVI many times and never once had a bad time. The Caymens were nice too, but I like here the most and I've traveled all over Europe and the Americas as well as Hawaii and the Gulf of Mexico. Cruz Bay on St. John is the best town their imo, and the Westin on St Johns is great. Be sure to eat at peter island and try the roti and visit the bathes on Virgin Gorda. Seeing this place on a cruise is no good, you must stay here.
