  • Way cool. Killer Instinct.... I was fourth place in the national tournament.

  • Please tell me this works with Doom SNES! It's really hard being born in '95 and not knowing what Doom SNES deathmatch was like.

  • @DXSnakeEater That is a really good question actually. SNES Doom was originally hacked by the game crackers at Xband in a strange manner. I do not know if the guys can replicate this on Xband2. I'll do my best to find out and let you know.

  • I have to say, while Xband 2.0 is a faithful emulation of the original service, it just doesn't have the same feel as sticking the original Xband modem in tan authentic SNES and the game on top. Most emulators come with network multiplayer like its effortless, back in '95 it was fresh and radical. Having being born in '93, i never got the chance to experience the service in its heyday but it looks extremely innovative for the time and virtually paved the way for services like xbox live or PSN...

  • Nice. I can't wait. The new X Band should retain certain qualities of the original. So far it seems to include the backgrounds, icons, and characters which is awesome. I'm hoping that you guys can incorporate the music too. I love that cheesy old X Band music. Anyway, it's looking good. So cool to see X Banders getting together again. It's 13 years later and I got kids old enough to play, and I am many brain cells lighter because of those days, but it's coming back. NICE. ~LiL bOo~

  • Wait, so you cant be ranked, challenge other people, and send xmail unless it is on a weekend?, very unrad

  • @ironeli101 Thanks for the feedback. There are two reasons for this. First, this product is young. The developers want to narrow down the open time in order to give users a better chance of finding an opponent. Second, the developers are already working on a predecessor for this version with support for all Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Xband games and more. Consider this something to whet your appetite. Hopefully you'll give this a chance in the meantime.

  • You guys should also make a straight port of Xband 1 (For Xband Historians Like Myself)

  • @ironeli101 I would love to have a straight port too. Unfortunately, it is impossible. It would take lots of information that is now lost and lots of money that we don't have. :-(

  • @Xband411 If you ever can do it, I'll be happy to beta test it!

  • YES! YES! THIS IS DELICIOUS!

  • Great job!! Any news on if MK1 will be available??

  • @Pkemen1 The developers are already working on a new version that will support all games that were playable on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Xbands. Stay tuned to this channel for more info.
