  • "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

    Great film.

  • Why is the establishing shot of the exterior of her flat in London? And architecture that has never existed in america?

  • @bastardfingersbecause Virginia Madsen is still hot, even though she's an old slag.

  • @ 4:47, jeebus crackers! I had my head phones on!

  • That kid should be sent to the north pole with no clothes on.

  • Thumbs if you agree that the only thing better than having a house like that (minus the ghosts of course) is living there with Liam Neeson!?

  • DUDE! Liam Neeson!

  • Wow, her sisters family are the biggest tools.

  • 3:00-3:08: good boy! Just for that, you get a cookie!

  • To pee or not to pee.

  • Good grief...a sister like this would make you wish you'd been an only child!

  • Fuck dis

  • thumbs up for liam neesons cock

  • OH SHIT son liam neeson :D

  • Someone upload the exorcist I have never seen it

  • i would kick that boy

  • I love the way this starts.... Elanor's been a house Nigger her whole life and her sister is more than happy that Elanor continue in that role. A bloody unpaid maid... screw that.

  • I would give that little boy an ass whooping that he'd remember !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @starRavenCraft i mean beat beat the hell outta him. One of those ass whooping's from the early 90's.

  • @starRavenCraft The boy? The dad could use an even better one.

  • i cant watch this without thinking of scary movie 2 haha

  • I went to see this with friends at the cinema and they thought it was rubbish but I have always thought it was really good.

  • Classic film

  • I have this movie on DVD

  • God this Eleanor's family SUCKS

  • Even in a horror/ thriller movie, Harlaxton Manor is breath taking!

  • @mangaqueen20 is that what it's called? I agree, completely breathtaking. If it sits just beyond the wood like that... what an oasis!

  • this is so beautiful and scary!!

  • This is one of the best movies I have ever seen! I remember when it came out on VHS, my sisters and I would watch this almost everyday! Lol! I know every single line! You just don't find movies with good ideas like this anymore. Of course, it may be a little corny at times, but it still catches your attention and is great! The book is even better!

  • @LuquiiStar92 Watch the original 1963 version, directed by Robert Wise--it's WAY better than this!

  • @galoon I just saw that one for the first time, the other night. Yes, it was still spooky! lol

  • @TheInaraBlack Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock is a good scary movie, too--it came out a few years before the Haunting; I'm sure everyone's seen that one!

  • @galoon aww, that one's still on my list to see. I'm 31 and I still havent seen it. lol But I grew up with my mom forbidding me to see that movie. That was one that scared the hell out of her- to this day, she shakes her head at the mention of the movie. lol

  • @TheInaraBlack Wow, you should do yourself a favor and see Psycho--the scariest part is the ending, but beyond that, I don't want to spoil it for you LOL! When it was in the theaters in 1960 Hitchcock told them not to admit any viewers after the movie had started; he wanted to make sure they saw the whole film from start to finish! If you buy it, get the Hitchcock Collectors' Series version with the special features...

  • @galoon ok but where can i watch it? i havn,t found any videos for it

  • @189krabby There are some video clips of it on YouTube--I don't see the full movie here, though. I'm sure it's available cheap on DVD at places like Amazon, though.

  • I just watched the anne frank movie omg that is miep!!!!

  • Course its fake... Thats obvious, it can still be good :L

  • I SEE EVERYONE IS AFRAID TO WRITE - ITS FAKE ;D

  • meth beer and weird movies:)

  • I'm only watching this for Owen Wilson(:

  • the lady in the pink shirt is from anne franke movie she played miep gies

  • im looking this movie for the whole day at last!

  • this one is the best..

  • This movie is not about scaring, because it has a GOOD ending.. I can't remember any other good horror movie with a good ending..

  • eleanor, help me i gotta pee

  • Really it's a movie.

  • The original Haunting, the Blair Witch Project, the Ring, Paranormal Activity, and even The Mothman Prophecies all scored in understanding what scares the hell out of you at the movies: it's not what you see, IT'S WHAT YOU DON'T SEE. The makers of the 1999 remake of The Haunting couldn't see it.

  • @Shoobee63 couldent have said it better! .. if you have not already seen it i suggest 'the babys room' its fantastic

  • WORST. REMAKE. EVER.

  • i've heard terrible things about this movie but i'm watching it because of the NC

just like him i like to torture myself with sucky movies

it's the curse of the reviewers

  • Comment removed

  • If you don't compare it to the original its not the worst but its not great either but still watchable

  • is the original on youtube ?...' cause I can never forget Julie Harris, Claire Bloom and Richard Johnson... this does doesn't meet that standard....

  • i just love this movie..

  • I love how in movies and shows, the scientist/educated/intelligent person is always a man, and they always have him spout pseudo-scientific nonsense that isn't even true but you're supposed to look up to him like he's so much smarter than you are.

  • @loljustice31 just because scientists don't know everything.. doesn't mean they know less about science than people who AREN'T scientists.

    Making any sense?

  • Do these people actually need profesional tests to recognize that that kid is retarded?

  • Does anybody know if the house actually exists and in that case what it's called? Or was this movie shot with built up scenery?

  • @BabyScarecrow The house is Harlaxton Manor, which is in England. The University of Evansville uses it for those who study abroad in England.

  • ahaha i like Ritchie, how he laughs. :P

  • wow what a bad remake and bad movie.

  • How can anyone be nostalgic for these crappy 90s movies? Next it will be Bio-Dome compared to Ben-Hur. Ben-Hur was just gore and sex. BIO-DOME WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD.

  • @siouxsienova Are you talking about Ben-Hur with Charlton Heston? I hope you are getting the title confused or are joking because Ben-Hur was pretty freaking great man. As for the gore and sex part, there wasn't any sex, and the gore isn't all that grotesque considering that it never goes beyond a PG-13 level.

  • @40Pacino Think the part about Ben-Hur was just sarcasm, even more so for Bio-dome. And I agree, Ben-Hur is an excellent movie.

  • @ONlSan God I hope so. It's kind of hard for me to tell when people type sarcastically

  • The movie that made me fall in love with Liam Neeson! Oh lord, so sexy! And catherine zeta jones has always been a beauty!

  • they did and hbo special on this movie way back....the castle is real but it's also really haunted they would only shoot it from the outside all the footage on the inside was filmed on a stage. no one would go inside the real castle

  • Thumbs up if the nostalgia critic sent you here.

  • @justicegang WHAT'S NOSTALGIA CRITIC? I COME FROM EUROPE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS. THANKS

  • @loucilll Type in nostalgia critic on the youtube search bar.

  • This film is one of the great examples of what horror films "should be".

  • Okay, so here's my question: Who knew Eleanore had insomnia and pointed the ad out to her? It doesn't sound like she's talking to her sister, and why would Liam Neeson and his GA's know? Did the GHOSTS telephone her?

  • @MorriganAtwood yes. Because they wanted her to come to the house - both in the old, black and white film, and in this "newer" adaptation. She was central to the story. But I'm guessing by now you know!

  • @MorriganAtwood I never understood it either! I've watched this movie before when I was young and wondered the same thing, that is never explained.....i always figured it was some ghostly voice, yet we never hear who the voice is....strange, spooky!

  • NC: to pee or not to pee

  • I'm not gonna lie... i hope that little kid dies, and idk why i hope that happens

  • i am falling in love

  • I'd live there in a heartbeat.

  • Yeah I love this house..

  • thanks for this!

  • The Goldsmith score in this is to kill for... 1998-1999 were good years for him.

  • thank you so much for posting it, this movie always scared me when i was young

  • "What me worry?"

  • That is nothing compared with the original version from 1963. It is too exaggerated and this House is so ridiculous and excessive kitsch. It´s a really bad remake.

  • @Uhanek I like both movies for different reasons. The one in 1963 had to be made without special effects and CGI, but was still really creepy, playing with the mind the way it did. This one is a really good movie, with the characters and the storyline, I always thought everyone was really good in it and it's definitely creepy. The house is excessive but that's part of the mood, making everything larger than life and dream-like in a scary way.

  • I used to LOVE this movie! Its been years. Thanks for uploading.

  • Isn't she the woman who played in the original Halloween movie(s)?

  • I would have turned right the fuck back around lol

  • I remember this was going on TV 5 years ago and it was shown once a week, in four weeks, like 4 episodes, 1 hour give or take for each episode. The wiki page for this movie says its only 113 minutes long. Is there a extended or some other version for this movie?

  • i remeber seeing this when i was younger god it gave me nightmares!

  • You never see the mother, but it seems she wasn't a nice person (that stick!)

  • This was a very under rated film , I thought is was great . the only thing that bothered me was the ghost of the children didn't look real , they should have gotten real kids to do some green screne shots instead of CGI , they did it with Ellenor 's spirit .

  • Her "family" needs to be drop kicked, they purposely want to sell her home so that she can become their personal slave. UGH!! Eleanor doesn't deserve to be her family's maid all the days of her life!

  • In real life, who really lived in that mansion?

  • all these haunted movies

  • WHERE THE HELL IS PART 11 xO i was so caught up in the movie then *BAM* thrs no part 11!!!!!!! Plz can u finish uploading ALL of the movie parts

  • I remember seeing this when it first came out in theaters when I was just starting middle school. Even then I thought it was a pretty ridiculous movie. But the house! Dat house! Even now I still dream of living in it.

  • to be honest this movie kinda sucked

  • at 3:10, I would have taken that walking aide thingy, and shoved it right in that fucking kid's annoying gob--bottom end first. seeing that kid is birth control-enough for me.

  • that deep voice only sounds good with the British/ Irish accent...i wonder what the poor guy is going through tryin to sound all American..

  • @damras88 his name is liam neeson and he is irish i think and yeah it must be hard to sound all american but he seems to be used to it

  • I remember the first timeI saw this movie I was like 6 or 7 it scared the shit outta me thanks for the upload!

  • "help with the cooking and the cleaning.." I would've said, "kiss my ass you pair of complete and utter dicks."

  • i cant watch this film now that im about to sleep... il come back later and finish this... 5stars to your post... YOURE THE MAN and subscribed

  • Catherine Zeta Jones is one of the most beautiful people on this planet!

  • She's driving a grmlin now thats scary.

  • Don't think I'd like being the first arrival to this spooky place....ooooooh....

  • I recall seeing a movie w/Liam Neison but I don't recall these other actors being in it. Maybe I'm just slipping.....LOL So far, so good....

  • damn, wish it was the 90's again

  • I have never seen this movie from the beginning.

  • is this rated R or PG13?

I have seen the haunting tv shows but I didn't know wether this was one of them or not so I was just wondering what it was rated.

  • @KagRulez it's been rated 12

  • Ok...ultimately Ive heard this remake is total crap, but I've never felt compelled to SLAP THE EVER LOVING SHIT OUT OF Viginia Matesson(sp?) before...so...Thumbs up so far! Don't get me wrong-Ive always kind of wanted too...But know her acting quality and interpretation of the character has given me reason too.

  • hahaha i would have saw the chains on the gate and said "dang-it they are closed so let me drive away fast with the doors locked" 8:12

  • isntt theree Uhh Remakee? on this Movie?

  • This is the biggest pile of dog poo since Crufts. How anyone can tolerate the wooden acting, stilted characters and naff special effects is beyond me. The original is 1000 times superior and of course from an era where talent was required to make films.

  • I swear to god !the scariest thing in this hole movie is Eleanor's face !! lol she has look that scares the shit outta me lol :)

  • Her sister is F*kin stupid. How can she treat her sister that way?

  • i cannot sleep after i watching this movie when im a little kid...

  • Little brat, I'd smack him silly.

  • @DoOdLeBaKa I'd agree with you about the nasty little nose miner, but nah, you can't fix stupid. However, you can push it out of a multi-story window...

  • @Invisiblejetpilot That'd work! O:

  • 7:32-7:37 gah she is soo beautiful

  • OMG I WATCH THIS WHEN I WAS 7 or 8 YEAR OLD and I REMEMBER THIS FILM!!!!! IM 15 YEAR OLD AND I CANT BELIEVE I FOUND IT!

  • This film is as subtle as a hammer. It is an unwarranted remake that besmirches the name of the original and the fantastic novel which preceded it.

  • This is a cosy ghost movie. Wish it was more movies like this one! So much atmosphere and I love it!

  • The house it the real star in this movie. SO much, classic, gothic-kitsch. Just the perfect haunted house...

  • @wasabidesignband I KNOW, that is my freaking DREAM HOUSE. GOD I LOVE THAT HOUSE! You're right though, I remembered this movie simply for the house. God I love that house!

  • its Liam Neeson!!!

  • Is that man in black at 5:33 also in the movie Taken?

  • @EKbentleypwns

yes he is the man in movie "Taken" he is also in the movie "Schindler's list"

  • This is such a great movie, I haven't seen it in years :)

  • rofl @ the lil boy hahahahahahahahahahaha....

  • FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE WHOLE FILM BEFORE OR CAN'T REMEMBER THE ENDING STOP READING HERE: this bitch of a sister is soon going to lose the sister she treats SO well. Maybe then she'll think about her actions.

  • Hey the dad is the annoying fuck from my so called life tv show.

  • crappy remake of a classic horror movie.... they totally missed the point

  • @JerichoDitch2 Yeah, the original was more psychological. But this one is for those who actually wanted a confirmation of whether the house was haunted or not. In all honesty, this is a real haunted house ghost story.

  • her sister is a cunt

  • the mom looks stupid..

  • i remember after I watched this movie as a kid I slept in my mums room for a year.

  • as long as Liam is in the house I would go! and he is looking really good!

  • as long as Liam is in the house I would go!

  • This was back when horror movies were actually pretty good. Now a days they are all about gore and sex.

  • @BeA90sKidAgain

Dont be fooled, horro and gore movies are two different types of movies.

  • @BeA90sKidAgain dumbed down for a dumb society

  • @BeA90sKidAgain Too right.... Today's 'horror' isn't actual horror. It's frightless gorenography that entertains only the sick perverts of today while dissing real horror fans.

  • @BeA90sKidAgain ahhh that's what the best was all about "Friday the 13th, Nightmare on elm street and Halloween ," Gore and teenage sex good combo

  • Respond to this video... Who ever think the guy play in Darkman could be a therapist.... knowing how pist off he got in that movie

  • I SEARCH I SEARCH IT! NOW I DIDN"T SEARCH IT BUT I FOUND IT YESS YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!FINALLLY!@!!!!!

  • This Eleanor is so much better in this remake than the original. The original is such a 50s horror flick-chick damsel-in-distress.

  • is that mansion just incredible or what? id give anything to live in there <3

  • Know how the song is called 4:20 minute? please i want to know

  • imma watch this when everyones asleep... with popcorn yeahh this is one of the first movies to scare me when i was a kid

  • why does this movie remind me of the haunted mansion

  • Her sister is a right sour bitch.

  • @OverTheAppleTree LOL!!!! That is funny! She sure is.

  • wow i been trying to find this movie for a long time, but could not remember the name thanks for uploading :)
