I use Lego nozzle pieces for the firefighters to hold the hose, and then 1x1 cylinder pieces to hook to the fire engines.

The hose lines are made using various types of shoe lace and string.

I believe at the time that photo was taken New Brickton Fire was operating 13 Engines, 3 Squad Engines, 5 Ladders, 1 Rescue, and other support trucks.

Truly, all the trucks pictured in the video were built with my own two hands. And once again I will state that I do not have instructions for any of the trucks built.

A simple suggestion for you though, start looking at the pictures of Lego Fire Apparatus by individual bricks, a sign of a skilled builder is that you can envision how a truck is built by looking at a picture of it.

And fyi, I have been building quite a while, since about 1998 or so. It takes a while to get good.

Yes, I have ordered a lot of individual pieces. My Lego FD has been in the making since 2002, since then there have been drastic changes. I believe I started out with 2 engines, 1 ladder, 1 rescue, and 1 chief car. Presently New Brickton F/R operates 15 engines, 3 squad engines, 6 ladders, 2 rescues, multiple pieces of support vehicles, command vehicles, and 3 reserve apparatus (2 engines and 1 ladder)

So, yes, it has taken quite some time to complete my department.

I believe what you are refering to was the old ladder 4 which was a Pierce Dash 75' Medium Duty Ladder.

I'm not sure what Bethel Park operates, I can't remember where I even got the inspiration to build the truck.

Yes all the trucks pictured in the video are made by me. My idea is that Lego Doesn't want to invest the money in making something with as much quality that me and other builders put into our apparatus. And all trucks are built without instructions.

Yes the smoke is made out of cotton balls, some of it is colored using dye.

haha sweet video man! I used to build lego fire engines and use shoe laces as hoseline when I was little too. Didn't think to use the cotton balls though, BRILLIANT!

The stickers are custom made from a lable maker. Other decals are either printed or are black or blue tape.

hey, nice trucks. How did you get the front winsheild of the Pierce Quantum to slant at that angle?

The windshield on the quantum is a standard 6 wide lego windshield. The black striping was added by me, which was bought at a office supply store.

No prob! Us firefighters gotta stick together! Your lego department is a lot larger than my collection. I've got 2 pumpers, a ladder/rescue truck, a ariel tiller, a cheifs truck and a ambulance, whereas you have like ten pumpers and a million tower ladders! I'm also making a movie this summer about my real life fire dept here in Canada. It will be called Raging Inferno!

In the meantime I salute all the brave men and women who keep new brickton from burning down!
