@CME1124 Maybe we got different definitions of mainstream. For me not being mainstream doesn't mean that one can not be successful but it definitely means that one should have his own stylistic elements in his music. A band must have something that divides them from the majority of bands. LP hat the element of great electronic guitars combined with the unique screaming of chester and fresh raps. They just gave it up. If I'd follow your definition then Metallica for example would be so mainstream

@MarshallFaulk3 Again I say, they didn't just give it up. If they really wanted to, they could've just pumped out another nu-metal (even though I'd hardly consider it that) album and top all charts. Why didn't they? Because they don't like that kind of stuff anymore. They aren't going to force themselves to do something they don't like- that's what sellouts do. And by the way, Metallica WAS mainstream. Of course now they aren't as popular, but they definitely were mainstream rock in their prime.

They certainly wouldn't have the same type of fans, though. I think you miss the point that LP has made; helping people emotionally with their problems. They have done so since Hybrid Theory, and is a lot more evident in their newest album. They show and use their heart a lot more than other artists.

@MisterHotShotX Yes i understand. For me, i see it as them growing. HT and METE were angry and aggressive. After the two albums, they wanted to give back more to the fans that cared for them, and helped them get to where they are now. MTM had many songs that were thoughtful and hearty, as one is even dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They see the more true and happier side of life. I find that promoting such is better than just making people more angry, though getting it out is good

The reason things are changed up clothing guitars etc... is because they filmed two locations for this dvd on the summer sanitarium tour with metallica in 2003. Houston and Dallas were the two venues used, red seats for Reliant stadium Houston and Blue for the old Dallas Cowboys Texas stadium. But the audio is all from the Dallas show, if you watch the songs a place for my head at the end they say dallas your the shit, and in the final song faint they say Dallas are you ready all live and real
