While I agree that i've got mixed opinions on most Tom and Jerry direct-to-DVD movies, the only one I thought was enjoyable was the one where they meet Sherlock Holmes. There's plenty of nods to the past for fans of classic animation and the animation of the MGM cartoon characters is fantastic. If you don't want to watch it, fine, but i think it's easily the best of these T&J DVD movies.
it may be that I didn't watch Tom & Jerry that much, but I liked the movie. Except the alley cat song. Oh, and by the way, you and the nostalgia critic didn't mention Robin's song. Why is that?
10. These songs have really good scores in my opinion. If I could listen to that then the lyrics, I'll be happy.
9. You know what I really hate about this movie? They have Tony Jay singing BACKUP. Why? The man sung Hellfire and you're giving him backup? Really? Not to meancon that the movie isn't even about Tom and Jerry, it's Robin's story, like you said Sam (can I call you Sam?).
8. The female peguin and SuperJNG18 said it best. Sums the song quite nicely.
@firefly81492 An insult to true T&J fans. The fact that they talk AND sing, especially about being friends... that's when you need to strangle something or someone...
Why do some props in animated movies have the word "acme" on them? The word shows up in a lot of Looney Toons shorts but why the heck is it here? 1:42
I agree with you wholeheartedly on the Tom and Jerry songs. Though that Friends to the End song is better when it's in an AMV like NickyHelp's. You should check it out.
These three songs I liked in Quest for Camelot besides Prayer: The dragon's song, the love song and The blind guy's first song. And that's only when they are alone and not in the movie.
I would actually say that the song Tom and Jerry sang wasn't a bad song. Granted, it would've been better if they didn't speak, but I can put up with it.
One thing I hate about these reviews of the Tom and Jerry Movie songs. I'm willing to acknowledge that most of the songs suck, but why is it that everyone always skims over the best one of all. God's Little Creatures is fine, but why does everyone always skim over Do I Miss You as if it were nothing. Seriously. Its the best song in the movie and it doesn't even get a mention. Why?
Gary oldman, i love the guy but why did they have to make him sing. But medieval cyborgs rock!
The Tom and jerry songs indeed suck, but the one with the cat gang (though pointless, had a cool gangsta and grease feel to it) and the one from the vet were actually enjoyable.
And for good ship misery, tune is catchy, voices singing it sucks. It could have been good, but wrong choices and lazy animation prevented that.
To be perfectly honest, I only dislike "Money is such a beautiful word" and "What do we care" in the Tom and Jerry movie. While it is true Friends to the End goes against everything Tom and Jerry stand for, you have to admit, it does have a nice rhythm and the other 2 are quite catchy as well. They're not great, but I don't consider them bad.
whats wrong with having them talk they did that in the loony toons when they had wille coyote guess star on bugs bunny they had HIM talk instead of hold up signs like he does in he's cartoon with the road runner
@phixer Yeah, but he didn't sing like an American Idol reject. In fact, HE DIDN'T SING AT ALL. As for T&J having to talk, THEY DON'T TALK. THEY SHOULD NEVER TALK, especially with who gave them their voices.
@F1315NJ And the only time they DO talk is only when they scream. Or that one time when Tom spoke ater getting blown up.
Anyway, the only talking characters from the Tom and Jerry shorts are good, not the one from the bad movie. The direct to DVD ones...they're 10-times better then that Box-office Nuke.
@ShadowDJ94 Exactly, the shorts were fine when they had speaking voices. Especially when Tom was flirting with the ladies. It was comical. The film was just... horrible.

Not all villain lovers use that song.

But there are quite a good number of villain lovers who love that song.
