  • which camera are you using?

  • YOU SHOW NADA.....

  • I live in NZ and this lens is currently selling retail for around 18k which for all you Americans out there is approx 14k George Washingtons. I just have one question for those of you using house references, are property values so low in the States that 14k is enough to purchase half a house??? Or are you living in the cardboard box this lens comes in?

  • @mdma111 when discussing the house value we were refrerring to a different lens. people really need to read things before they comment. there was a 1200mm lens for sale priced at $120,000 used or in redneck terms about half a house.

  • *tripod falls off that clifff*

NOOO I HAD TO SELL MY HOUSE FOR THAT LENSE!!!!!

  • thanks jim, love your photography!

  • I'd love to have a lens like that, except the price of the lens is almost half of what my horse cost D: ... Still awesome though.

  • nice plosives.

  • I have the 400mm f2.8 IS. That plus the 1.4X and 2.0X converters gives me a 560mm f4 and an 800mm f5.6. (and a 400mm f2.8!) I think thats a far more versitle set-up than owning one of these.

  • that sucker is a beast!!!

  • good for creeping on people! =D

  • WOW i got 18mm - 55! noob :(

  • What if he used this on a t2i :)

  • @bendingsnake What about it? The T2i is an entry-level crop sensor. It'd be cropped to 1.6x the 800mm focal length, taking it to 1280mm without a teleconverter and wouldn't look too much different from any Canon camera up to the 7D, slightly more "zoomed in" than if compared to a 1-series body with a 1.3x crop factor.

  • How do you reduce noise? Im using a 300mm lens fully zoomed in and have to much noise

  • @fullboxxskater it depends on what body you are using the lense on. On a higher class body, like a 5d mark2 you can use higher iso. You can also adjust your speed and aperture. Hope this helps

  • @fullboxxskater lower your ISO.

  • brilliant!! the island next to my island is about 10 miles way. can i see people 10 miles way? would you recommend?

  • You did not say how far was the moon. How far was it? The lens caught it pretty well.

  • my camera phone can do this

  • i think a new one is $12,000 so that must be a typo chicken

  • @m3ntalcas3 --it isnt a typo---he was typeing about the 1200mm f/5.6lens for sale at b&h-used $120,000

  • It must have been an awesome experience using that lens. How well did the body focus at 1100mm f/8 and 1600mm f/11?

  • so much color fringinggg

  • hmmm... For the price it seems like you could get similar results by using a 200mm or 400mm and just crop the photo a bit to get the same perspective. 10,000 dollars just doesn't justify the results you could get from a thousand dollar telephoto lens and a bit of cropping.

  • holy cow i want that lens

    10000pounds

  • boring

  • Normal people buy a car if they want to see something up close.

Dedicated photographers buy a bigger lens...

  • Aren't tripods suppose to hold the camera.......

  • @sk8boardinmonkey yup but there are pro tripods designed just to hold the big lenses.so the camera is supported by the big lens.

  • 800 ml alcohol you got as breakfast :D LOL.

    No ofense though!!

    great thing you did this.

  • 2:11 :o

  • wow you managed to make that very exciting piece of equipment take very unexciting photos

  • That expensive!!..wish i am rich..

  • Nice shots man, im looking to get this lens for my Canon

  • Very cool! Just saw this lens on Borrowlenses, and found your video after searching for it on YouTube.

  • @AlexAirDubai Yeah, and how many f-stops do you lose with 2 extenders . . . dumbfuck.

  • @AlexAirDubai yeah but your an idiot, that would make it like F50...moron.

  • @hojop25 FUCK YOU SON OF A BITCH !

  • Comment removed

  • IF YOU'LL PUT 2X EXTENDER ON 1200MM IT WILL BE 2400MM!

  • @AlexAirDubai ye but wores picture quality and Aperture then ^^ and slower focus

  • In case you're interested B&H has a used 1200mm 5.6 for sale. asking price is $120,000

  • @northernchicken you have go to be kidding me!

  • @willcitoman97 no way, not kidding. that was a while back but uhh, I didn't buy it. Can you imagine ?

  • @northernchicken thats like, car money... house money even

  • @northernchicken no...it's $12,000 new.

  • @bringthesilverrain where at ?? All I know is what I read !! the 800mm goes for around $11,000 which makes it hard to believe that the 1200mm would be $12,000 I notice it isn't listed anymore, someone must have bought it.

  • @northernchicken When this guy talks about focal lengths of about 1300mm, he's talking about the 800mm lens with a 1.4x extender attached. A single lens with a focal length that long is extremely rare and expensive - that's the $120k second-hand 1200mm lens that you're hearing about.

  • @soundofgeek are you on crack ?? the lens I mentioned is infact a fixed 1200 mm f 5.6 that was listed at B&H for $120,000 no extenders. it is an actual lens that was built by canon. there is also a 5200mm in existance as well.

  • @northernchicken Yeah, I mentioned the 1200mm (and its price) in my comment. Apparently you didn't read that bit.

My only mistake was to say "about 1300mm" instead of "about 1100mm". Oh, and I know all about the really unusual lenses Canon has produced that aren't in production now.

  • @northernchicken Ebay =)

  • @bringthesilverrain umm no, the 1200mm 5.6 is $120,000 used.

    The 800mm new is $12,000.

  • @northernchicken $12000

  • @sharagim1 are you on crack? the 800 mm sells for $12,000. The 1200mm was at B&H listed at $120,000 !! I saw another listed at around $90,000 The one at B&H is no longer listed ,

  • @northernchicken sorry , my price was for canon lens 800mm,

  • @sharagim1 I shouldn't have been rude, forgive me.... you were the forth or fifth person yo wrongly correct me on this. Have a great Day !!

  • @northernchicken not bad, ill put it on 360 month payment plan over 30yrs

  • @northernchicken $120,000!? They sell brand new for $13,999!

  • @redbeast2 you guys are on crack !! learn how to read !! I said the 1200mm is for sale at $120,000. they certainly aren't $14,000 new, the 800mm is close to $14,000 again, learn how to read crackheads !!

  • @northernchicken the most expensive lense ive seen is like 16,000. There is no way a lens costs 120,000 let alone used.

  • @MrNeocaligus Lol I used to think the same also, but incredibly there are lens' worth that.

  • @iSNEVEET What a rip off.

  • @MrNeocaligus do some research, it is an extremely rare lens with only a tiny handful available in the world.

  • you should do a moon shot zoomed in as much as you can.
