CHEM-TV (an affiliate of the French language TVA network in Quebec, based in Trois-Rivières) did an ident similar to the "Get Ready" CBS affiliate ident used at the time.
wow i like this! although i dont live in any of these areas but i know one (but dont live in) that i saw but forgot excecpt the station name anyone of kwtv someone reply
I believe WCIX had already gone from being independent to CBS by the start of the 1989-90 season, so yes, they would have been required to do a custom version.
I live in Detroit, and WJBK-TV (now a Fox O&O station) was the CBS affiliate for the Detroit market in 1989. I don't remember WJBK doing a local version of the 'Get Ready' campaign.
The only localized CBS IDs I've seen of WJBK, was the 'Reach for Stars' campaign in 1981, and the 'We've Got the Touch' campaigns from 1983 and 1984.
That I noticed about no appearence of the KCBI logo! It's worse enough that there wasn't custom animation within the color spectrum of the Get Ready logo for the station, but watching the promo again I see no KCBI branding in evidence anywhere else! I wouldn't want that promo department working for my station.

I take that back. WJBK in Detroit (now a Fox O&O) did have their own package for the Get Ready campaign.

Thanks for throwing in B&B's "StereoSound" Banner. I wish CBS would bring that back.

I wonder if KCTV ever did their own package of "Get Ready" with their old heart logo
kc86er 3 years ago
Possibly. But the only localized CBS ID I've seen of KCTV was that of the first "We've Got the Touch" campaign from 1983.
Also, speaking of the promo and CBS affiliates on channel 5, I've wondered if KPIX did a custom version, too...

All CBS affiliates were required in 1989 to do customized versions of the Get Ready campaign. The KCTV and KPIX versions are surely out there..

Was WCIX in Miami one of them?

That KCBI version has to be the worst i've heard yet, whatever male singer they hired for most of those parts completely butchered the song.
VaultMasterDBT 3 years ago 2
And how stupid of them not to put KBCI's logo in the ID for their version... definitely not one of the better custom versions of the campaign, IMHO.
I did enjoy the WNEV and KDKA versions though, especially the version for KMTV.

And if I'm right, KBCI's (not KCBI) logo at the time closely resembled the long time KTVU logo...
