  • that the last pic is Meng Huo Army

after captured seven times by Zhuge Liang

  • that mans in the subtitle is yuan shao

he lead a massive army to destroy cao cao

but he failed. cause he ignore advice for xun you

  • My opinion:

    America is Shu

    Israel is Wu

    Europe is Wei

    And finally, NWO is Jin

  • i remember i watched this when i was a little kid,, and i understand nothing! Now, i understand everything about the three kingdoms!

  • The song sounds like caocao's voice

  • haha...

  • This song is better than the Three Kingdoms 2010 song

  • @rocky96191 Not surprising, since it was written for the original book.

  • 100 dollars for 80 VCDs in 2001 baby!

  • nice song

  • My only complaint is that they changed the actor for Zhao Yun halfway through the series.

  • @DarkAdonisVyers I know man wtf changed the actor halfway through the series and the actor is fit for that role of Zhao Yun too. I was disappointed when the actor switched it's not funny man! >.< like how they replace the Han's Emperor wth!!!!

  • @Refractivepower Acting contract was too short.

  • @Refractivepower new chapter always have new character except for some others such as liubei, caocao, sunquan, zgl, guanyu, zhangfei etc.

  • I love luo guanzhong making this wonderful story!!!!!

  • I read some chinese articles. In this drama, two actors won awards in China for the excellent performance. Tang Guo Qiang's ZhuGe Liang and Bao Guo An's Cao Cao.

  • I actually spend over $200 to import this sucker from China several years ago so I could watch it, since I'm a HUGE fan of the San Guo period of history.

  • i m watching the brand new one and it's pretty good in terms of action and story...but some how it lacks feeling but i still like it a lot

  • 曹操差一步没统一,可惜了,不然不知道历史会是什么样子。

  • @xsilentrainx

There is romance, so many things are exaggerated. It's just not a chick-flick

  • Life's happiness... A good company and wine lol Its true XD

  • what is the name of the song ?

    thanks ^^

  • there's no romance in the romance of three kingdoms.

  • i think the translation is not quite accurate, meaning is lost in it

  • romance in this case means idealized, as in shakespeare's histories, romances, so to speak, of the old english kings. luo guanzhong of course does not present the story of the three kingdoms as it is (once said to be 7 parts true, 3 parts fiction), he idealizes it. by changing out characters and giving others superhuman qualities, he blows the story up to legendary proportions, thus romanticizing it.

  • real epic

  • man brings back so much memory ^_^ I used to watch it with my cousins all the way back.

  • The best of the best,

  • 吾有上将潘凤,可斩华雄

  • chinese people recognize 6 novels as the best in chinese literature:

    1) 三國演義 Romance of Three Kingdoms

    2) 封神演義 Creation of the Gods

    3) 水滸傳 Water Margin Tale

    4) 西遊記 Journey to the West

    5) 金瓶梅 Gold Vase Plum

    6) 紅樓夢 Dream of Red Chambers

These novels influence chinese culture worldwide, especially the chinatowns all over the world.

  • i still can't believe that ppl would even let Gold vase plum and Dream of Red chambers on the same list and rank as Romance of Three kingdoms, it's such an insult.

  • The Gold Vase Plum should not be there because 1 the main character was dead before the start of the book and 2 it doesn't really have any artistic value compared to the other books. I mean its about lust right? Dream of Red Chambers is different. The way it is written is different and the way the author wrote it has so much under the surface meaning that even now there are scholars still trying to decipher it.

  • um there is only 4 1) 三國演義 Romance of Three Kingdoms

    2) 水滸傳 Water Margin Tale

    3) 西遊記 Journey to the West

    6) 紅樓夢 Dream of Red Chambers

  • Mmmm there is only one:

三國演義 THE Romance of Three Kingdoms

    FTW!!!

  • To people who want to read the book: Go to half price bookstore. They sell the whole set for $5. And if you can, you should learn Chinese and read a Chinese version, which is much better than the translated version.

  • I watch this movie when I was about 8 and still remember this song.... So emotional....

  • They sold the soundtrack b4. My friend has it and I ripped it off him.

  • is there anyway I could get that from you?

  • well you only have to type "滚滚长江东逝水 mp3" in google and you would have it.

  • you would need to have the chinese language pack installed or you would only see boxes of course.

  • Me as well, I'd like to learn more about the story behind this, I've only recently discovered the games.

  • This is like one of the Great Four Classical Novels of China. You could go to the library and borrow the books. But it's far easier to just buy the dvd box sets anywhere in Asia. If you want to get your feet wet, just do a wikipedia search and read about Guan Yu or Zhuge Liang.

  • I was thinking of picking up the book set at borders, I wish it was hardcover, but you can't win all of them. I like the idea of the way they'r telling the history, its more word of mouth retelling and not the...bland style they have now.

  • Oh yeah. That's what I'm saying. Forget about the books. They'll put you to sleep. Watch this TV series instead. It's THE definitive version. Why? Because of all the effort they put in. You will not find a better actor who can play Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang nor Guan Yu.

  • totally agree, this is the classic version all chinese have watched and remembered until now. Just like the 1988 version of Journey to the West.

  • if you mean the one where: the sifu's(the monk) cloak is red, Monkey King actually looks like a monkey, "Pig" really looks like a pig, where the movie does not involve very weird laser beam fights, then yes, I agree that is the best. I've seen some really stupid ones where you actually can see the string on "Pig's" fake nose and where Monkey King is talking to his weapon (the metal pole, gwun)and is telling it to hit him, making him spit out little balls of energy -.-

  • And I mean the good, not Dynasty Warriors: Kessen, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms VI

  • I think Dynasty Warriors does do a good brief overview of the whole story. I read an abridged translated version and it was cool. Like how Lu meng killed Guan Yu and then Guan Yu possessed Lu Meng and made Lu Meng kill himself. lol.

  • series is wicked, actually feels as if its back then, WOW

  • I <3 this song and this series

  • when to china but cannot find the sound track

  • 400 of rule and peace of the han had end.

  • more like 250 years of peace and 150 years of destitution

  • 一壶浊酒喜相逢,古今多少事都付笑谈中...

    ..三国演义确实经典之作啊

  • Yes, the song is a poem about the Three Kingdoms period. You can find the poem in the beginning of the novels.

  • *favorited*

  • anyone know where i can get the soundtrack for Romance of Three Kingdom?

  • thats something I think all of us would like to know

  • Not sure if they ever release these things in China. TV soundtracks are not a majority concern.

  • the ending song by mao ah ming is great too!!!

  • Thanks!! Brgs back good memories of my childhood

  • Very memorable theme song! :)

  • I'd say try your nearest China Town if that fails there's always ebay.

  • jap is scum race lol

  • Wait... but you're... Japanese?

  • "'SARS of three condoms"?! shame on you, jpnjpnjpn! Don't you know there is a Japanese version of the Three Kingdoms?

  • hahahah oh wow you are here too..

ahooy matey, we have a 20 y/o china hating japanese here, all hands aboard, brace for impact!

  • totally love it!

  • they re natives who been ruled by Meng Huo, who later ruled by Shu's army lead by Zhu ge liang
