@Gunluver1 In Sweden? Yes we do. Usually you'll have to be an active member of a shooting club for six months before you can get a license for a .22lr. For bigger calibers you usually have to wait 12 months.
@Gunluver1 If you're under 18 (that's legal majority in Sweden) you have to have an interest in shooting and be a good shooter and clearly show that you are mature enough. The word "bör" wich means "should" is used a lot in the Swedish police force's interpretation of the weapon laws (you go to the police when you wan't to get a license). There are also limitations on how many weapons you can have, and there more or less always have to be "special reasons". "Self defence" is not a valid reason.
