  • Putting trust into government is fine, as long as people remember we are the government. Anyone can be an MP.

    Oh -

HM Revenue & Customs has admitted to losing the details of 25 million individuals, with 7.25 million UK families potentially affected.

    FAIL!

    "asbestos is perfectly safe"

    FAIL!

"Government loses another 45,000 people's private details"

    FAIL!

Future headline: "China buy personal information purely for advertising purposes!" ???

  • There is some glimmer of hope however. All opposition parties are against this sinister scheme, so as long as you DON'T VOTE LABOUR at the next election the whole thing will be scrapped, so happy days people! when they're out we can rejoice a little that our liberties are less under threat! :-)

  • so there are no positives in this scheme for the British people, just negatives. After world war 2 Winston Churchill did away with the notion of ID papers for all citizens, and implemented a free constitution, all aimed at preventing government fascism to prevent a Nazi style dictatorship ever happening in Britain. Lets hope we don't go back to such times.... only reason i see for this scheme is to reduce British freedoms by increasing state control over the British people. Pure facism

  • information that could be well be erroneous. The ID card will become the gold standard of identity in Britain, which will in turn lead to an over reliance of trust in the card by police, government agencies, banks, air port security etc and this trust will mean less checks are done. The airline industry opposed the introduction of ID cards to their workers, saying it would lead to less stringent checks on those they employ which would actually increase the risk of terrorism.

  • then there's the inevitible administrative cock ups in implementing the scheme,it will end up costing billions more than the billions they already think it will cost, they'll get peoples identities mixed up through imcompetance, and they're bound to get some people's details wrong or enter them incorrectly, all leading to false arrests by the police, mistaken identity, cloned cards to steal your identity, refused credit from banks, refused a job etc, all because of the information on the ID card

  • Apart from them being pointless and not any use in tackling crime, fraud, or terrorism, they're going to cost billions, it's more big brother state control, the technology will be figured out by criminals and they'll be making fake ID cards for terrorists and other criminals making us less safe and more open to identity fraud, and our personal private details, fingeprints and iris scans will be lost by the government, stolen, or sold to private businesses without our say so.

  • My view on this is, "Anyone who sacrifices liberty for security deserves neither."

I disagree with the ID card system in other European countries as well, but they are a lot less threatening to personal freedom than ours. For example, Germany's system forbids centralization for obvious historical reasons and new records are not linked to old ones.

The UK's proposed system looks less like Europe's and a lot more like China's.

  • I will refuse to comply with any of this, even if I have to go to court.

If this scheme is given the go-ahead, millions of people will rebel, and risk criminal prosecutions, like during the Poll Tax Riots. Only a lot more is at stake here.

The British people have become complacent and let the government get away with far too much. We have to send a clear message that we will not stand for a stalker state.

  • I'd have no problem refusing to have one if they became compulsory. They don't even have enough room in prison for real criminals, how the fuck are they meant to accomodate everyone who refuses an ID? They can't, so they can't do shit if we say no.

  • They could make it so that you can only buy food if you have an ID card, thus starving people into getting them :( Or make it so you cannot get a job if you don't have an ID card. By making having no ID card a major inconveniance they could get a vast majority to own them without having to punish anyone directly...

  • It's not just ID cards.

Consider Contact Point. You phone a plumber for your washing machine, and he reports you for child abuse. WHAT? Yes, local councils are training their plumbers to stop child abuse.

How do they do that.. well long sleeves in summer is a sign of abuse.

So Contact Point, the NHS spine, your confidential conversations with your GP can be forwarded on to your local council, shocking isn't it.

Do you want this future UK, and if not, help us stop it.

  • has anyone seen the new barclays advert with the guy on the waterslide it uses those fucking RFID chips and half the populi will accept them for 10% off at primark

they'd sell their own mother for 5% off at asda the gang of fuck ups.

out of curiosity is it just me or does anybody else think NO2ID's campaign is shit and ineffective?

  • the problem is the majority of this country are sheep, the government let criminals walk the streets, so of course the sheep will want to be "hurded" with id cards. if we let it happen we fuckin deserve it. fuck the government

  • get your ID card soak it in piss

and when somebody in a position of higher authority (ie a traffic warden lolololol) wants to check your ID card

    ....hey feel free

  • hey guys dont just write about it do something join the no2id coalition and pledge your non coopreation and do not register for an Id card at all we beat the poll tax and if we stick together be can stop this too

  • 1:40!!!! lolol

  • ok thats it ........... what is your number ?

this very message has a reference number to my name ( ip adress ).... so just another number for the CIA to use in their data base :^)....... again ,,. whats you number ?

  • Refuse to register and have one

  • illuminati.

  • most illegals destroy all evidence about them self's so no one knows who they truly are,the UK is becoming a open prison, free movement is being stamped out, freedom of speech is gone, and no, not everybody voted this corrupt lot in.just the fools who cant see past their nose.soon no ones going to get out,

  • and they'll get voted in again...because there is nobody else to fucking vote for

the political system is full of wank stains

  • you could form a better political party and government online, do you want the prime ministers role lol

  • yes...in 50 years time when i know what the fuck im doing lol

  • I find that the frustrating thing is that there is an air of futility amongst people here in the UK. A feeling of pointlessness. People care but feel powerless to do anything. They feel its inevitable that ID Cards will be introduced and nothing is going to stop it. This is not my opinion, its the attitude I encounter regarding the introduction of ID Cards in the UK. I also believe big and powerful IT companies have the ear of the government and are driving this through - big profits to be made!

  • I don't think all that many people realise this is coming...and at what cost. People are all too eager to just go along with anything because that's what we do...we get ripped off everywhere, even when we die and this is just another example. With the exception that this is a huge step in fucking all of us over in a BIG way. I don't get why people can't see what's coming, or maybe they do but don't know what to do about it. If everyone refused the card they would have to abandon it.

  • I agree. The public just don't know anything about it and before you know it the government will have snook it in behind their backs and most people will just go along with it because these days people just don't remember how to fight against anything. I know it's a bit lame but there's a great line I heard on V for Vendetta - "People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."

  • In WWII IBM developed a special computer for logging peoples " ID numbers" this amazing piece of HI-Tech was known as the "Death" computer. These days they've put a better spin on it all. With the news and the media theyre trying to convince us we need this stuff. Numbers, Barcodes, People in the same sentence..? What are we convicts or cattle...Who knows. Its all a bit like 1984.

  • EXTREMECONSPIRACY dotcom, stop paying SSN, get rid of ur SSN, learn how to get hired, get a bank account, stop being treated as cattle

  • Who wants ID Cards: Communists, Fascists, Nazi's and Goverment Worshipers.

Who does not want ID Cards: Freedom loving law abiding Brits!.

  • What civil liberties exactly would an ID card dissolve? Why are they any different to a vehicle license plate? A passport?

An ID card is technically proven to be more so difficult to fake, thus reducing ID fraud; which incidentally is at it's height. It has been elected by the British public in the last TWO general elections and would aid the police immeasurably by reducing multiple agency involvement. Progress, anyone? Or oh noes, rhetorical barcodes!

  • The difference between an ID card and a vehicle licence plate or passport is that with this new system all of your details are held on one database with provisions for use amongst public and private sectors. As the law stands there are 50 categories that must be submitted but, crucially the law allows for them to be added to.

  • Do you not see how this system infringes upon our civil liberties both now and in the future. Big business having access to personal details, they'd never use them in an imoral way and nor would governments or the police because they are always truthful.

  • It has not been technically proved that an ID card is more difficult to fake, look on the guardian website for an article about cloning passport's for proof of the fallibility of the system.

  • .ID fraud is not about the card itself it is more about the information it contains if that is all in one place it will be a lot easier to get at than if it is spread around multiple authorities.

I fail to see how a multi billion pound system that is open to abuse is progress. and I hardly think that when people voted in the election, if they did at all, they were voting on ID cards.

  • What "civil liberties"?

There is no official plan to make the ID database accessable to businesses. But currently, what happens when you give an employer your NI number?

It has been proved, biometrics are the most secure form of plausible identity, better yet only avaliable to authorities WITH reasonable warrant

  • Yes, most information will be on one database, but it's easily accessable. Authorities cannot simply check anything they so wish, proper regulations will be in force when the proposal reaches the legislation stage in Parliament.

The electorate, within our system, vote for a manifesto, and it is the Government's duty to enact. Not to do so would breach real "civil liberties" perhaps?

  • *not easily accessable (first line!)

I appreciate people feel strongly about these issues, but the media's sensationalist approach to issues give a disproportionate edge to matters which are clearly debated in our highest legislative and executive bodies, which we do, afterall, vote for in the first place

  • as of now, you are a free citizen of this country, and you are free to walk down the street, without let or hindrance, and you don't have to prove your identity to anyone. When this comes in, you can be stopped from doing this, and your proof of identity demanded.

Yes, you can be prevented from walking down the street as a free-born Brit, without anyone having reasonable grounds to suspect anything.. It is the removal of a huge section of the civil liberties of this country.

  • But that's not true.

You can be stopped by the police under grounds of reasonable suspicion anyway, the difference between ID cards and without ID cards is that they'll know who you are alot quicker, if and when they do stop you. If you get stopped presently, the same thing will happen, except they may need to go to your home to verify your identity, or you'll have to report to a police station with ID.

You'll only be showing your ID when the SAME circumstances as now 'demand' it.

  • Actually, I think you'll find there _IS_ a plan to make this information available to businesses.

  • you have a strange account, even your videos don't work.(death Vader) that says a lot about you.also your user name, google earth pin points where we all live, one can see their own house on it.you cannot say they do not know who we are.the people of this country are the most spy-ed on in the whole of Europe if not the world.

  • They do a great job of showing how ridiculous it is to think that this will "solve" all of the immigration and terrorist issues ... or for the British ... issssues.

  • I'm all for photo ID's. I mean when I get out of bed in the morning I have a lot of difficulty remembering who I am. I think a photo ID would be a useful single reference point for us anterograde amnesia sufferers. Obviously if we got the wrong ID card then it would be a big problem, resulting in much confusion, embarrassment and chaos...well at least until the next morning...Hmmm I haven't really thought this through have I?

  • Good stuff - will get the debate out there. Nice jazz too - fight this nonsense through nice jazz.

  • Also, is that guy on the end saying 'cocks' over and over?

  • Very interesting - real good to see a serious issue tackled with both respect and humour at once.

  • Nice one... Cops... Good to serve up a serious issue with a humorous slant... Cops... This ID plan just ain't gonna work... Cops... Hope this helps to spread the message...

  • good vid!

  • Hello to all you viewers,

I'd really appreciate any feedback on wether this video helps you to understand the issues behind the NO2ID campaign and want to get inolved.

    Thanks very much

    Fred
