@dunnuhlee It depends on the flight. A flight from west coast to east coast could be anywhere from $4,500 - $5,000 one way. It is more than ground travel but less stressful on the horse in most cases.
my horse went on an airplane going from florida to vancouver to the girl i bought him from and when he came off the airplane he was limping they did x-rays and he ended up getting a calcium deposit so i can only jump him up to 3'0 but i want to get him x-rayed to see if it's gone or gotten smaller
@LoveMyHorseShazam He was great with it to the East Coast and back to the West. For some it is a lot less stressful then hauling there by van. It only took about 4 - 5 hours compared to 2 - 3 days on the road. The crew is so awesome and you can fly with them too and check on them. Some horses require a little sedation...we were ok without it. Lots of race horses travel back and forth this way.
@LoveMyHorseShazam I've heard most horses are more comfortable on a plane than most people are! Probably because they don't know they're in the air, and the pilot is more careful.

I hope I NEVER have to put my horse through that....it seems so scary.
I am so glad your horse was ok with it! He looked perfectly content throughout the whole process.
