ya know, now that i think about it this thing makes sence... as if ur gateing from atlantis to earth... ur in the peggasus gate system... then you see the "white shit" (which represents the void between galaxies i guess...) and then you enter the Milky way gate system....still the effects after the Peggy animation is from the movie as far as i know... i dont remember seeing that part in the series... ever... i could be wrong though...
It was definitelly in the pilot (with a few extra effects added in, but not much) but I think they cut it after that to save time. They rarelly used it anyway except for dramatic effect or to fill time.
..... the second one isnt realy sg-1... or if it is its only the first season or so..... at the very least they got rid of that stupid white shit that starts it out and went strait to the point.....
I think he talks about the thing that most wormhole animations don't contain the "white shit" exept those that go to abydos. At least I didn't see any other "white shit" animatins other than Abydos. And that white shit has no sense. That first part if the wormhole is good. The white shit is just for spec effects I think. The second part is also silly, looks like a rollercoaster in space.
The "white shit" allows you to sense the turbulence associated with a trip through a Stargate, and allows you to get some idea of the distance crossed between the Gates, and those feelings cannot be conveyed through the whirlpool effect (the weird effect you see as a traveller first steps through the Gate) on its own.
I hate to break it to you "uber cool" Stargate "experts". But this video isn't a wormhole... ...It's actually video footage of my Colonoscopy last week. My Proctologist was examining the infinite void of my fat ass and got sucked inside. This footage was the last thing he saw before he wound up in an alternate dimension, facing an unknown fate. His family is holding a funeral service for him this Sunday. I hope you all will be kind enough to attend.

technically the first (green) is Stargate Atlantis, and still is
The second part with the white crap.. is SG1 from season 1-8 then 9-10 they changed to the Atlantis (cept blue)

The "white shit" originated in the ORIGINAL Stargate movie which you have apparently never seen.
And they used the same "white shit" for eight seasons before replacing it with their own crappy version.
