Deep impact was a good movie. It wasn't so much focused on the comet but on how the people of America are reacting to the circumstances. That's what makes it great even though the impact of the smaller comet was pretty epic.

i love this movie because it shows the actual effects on society that a meteor impact would have, its not just about the physical destruction of cities and buildings, but rather the devestation of humanity and the utter fear, hopelessness and panic that would come from such a cataclysmic event as depicted in the movie, i know its just a fim but i cant help but think if civilisation was actually faced with something like this how i would react, i couldnt imagine anything more terrifying....

Oh My Goodness. What a lovely/Touching/Sad/Eyeopening Movie. 5 stars. I love how the lyrics and video go together.
@jrad410: More than Likely a Asteroid WILL hit Earth. It's not a matter of If, But when. Earth Lies in the Path of Thousands of Asteroids, But Thankfully Jupiter pulls most of the asteroids towards it. But A life-ending asteroid, has hit, And will hit again. But hopefully not for hundreds of years.

for 1 an asteroid cant destroy earth cuz in the bible there is no such thing. another thing apothis or whatever isnt big enough to kill us all

häh? what's bible got to do with it? apothis would be lethal...just look at the consequences of the water and earth being vaporized in the air...no sun! for years! earth would live on, no doubt, and a handful of humans too, but billions would die!

well this is how it goes. on April 13 2029 apothis is not going to hit the earth but dip below our satelite communications. scientist say that there is a very small i repeat very small chance that it will orbit around earth and come back in 2036. apothis only has the strength to destroy parts of california

No need to worry about 2012 or 2029 or any other years.The meteor that nasa thought was going to hit is actually not as close as they thought its actually a 1/2 in 5 billion chance or something like that for it to hit they havent completely ignored it though its still going to come pretty close htyere making machines to land on it and learn about its course and a tracking device for it.

@iamcharlie21 Maybe not in our lifetime but it is likely to happen again Space is a silent and violent place there are NEOs (Near Earth Objects) that are utter undetectable in the heavens in 1993 the Earth had a near miss with a 300km Asteroid.Apophis has a 1-in a million chance of missing us in 2036 as long as it doesnt fit into the keyhole orbit on its next pass if it does then well.....2036 is going to be a eventful year.
