If you get magic lantern installed on your memory card you can get up to iso 25,600.Twin it with a f1.4 lens and you can see in the dark if youre a bit of a camera geek like me.
Nice job! Shows how these old MF lenses are still capable of creating pleasing images.. I sometimes use 44-M4 on K20D/K5 as interesting portrait lens or with extending tubes as "macro" tool.. But video is another interesting use..
Hi I have the same camera and the same lens from an old zenith i had.What i want to know is if you need a mount or adapter to use the lens with the camera...i fear forcing the lens in and breaking it.Is it copatible and if not what did you do?

I don't like quicktime format, so I convert all the footage from the 500D in HDV 1440x1080 30fps (MPEG2 transport stream) and then edit. The final file, write in XviD 720p and uploading to youtube ;) For editing I use Sony Vegas.

@fzzlgc thx for positive comment ;) I used only the correction of contrast and brightness, and I added small vignette. btw, Helios is my favorite lens :)

Try the smc takumar 50mm f1.4.

Nice video, but why shoot in 720p when your are able to shoot in 1080p?

@trueclaude All you gotta do is buy an adapter Canon EF -> M42 with confirmation of focus or not ;)

@VRvideotv Proprio stile di "Picture Style" e la WB nella fotocamera, e l'obiettivo naturalmente -> Helios ;)
Con la correzione di editing video solo di luminosità, contrasto e l'aggiunta di vignetta. Saluti!
