you nearly spoiled the postage with your useless comment. The boys' interpretation and voices are excellent and hopefully nobody will read both our comments
@Toringo6 I like their voices. Pure and clear voice are the basic requirements for singing. But please! Have a Latin teacher when it comes to pronunciation of Latin words!
A lot of very famous musicians of our days have been members of the choir: Riccardo Muti, Herbert von Karajan, Zubin Mehta, Seiji Ozawa and many more.... They sing not only classical music, since a few years the have in their program also songs from the Metallica till Madonna .... :-)
You see, Graham, how I love this choir. A big thank you for this wonderful video, my dear ! Uli *****
@dsanw This is simply not true! Yes, famous musicians, especially composers, have been members of the Hofburgkapelle, the claimed forerunner of the Wiener Sängerknaben, but not Muti, von Karajan, Mehta, Ozawa et al. These are conductors who have conducted the WSK at one time or another, but never sung in the choir as boys. You certainly love this choir, but please be accurate - thank you!
In 1998 the Vienna Boys' Choir celebrated its 500th anniversary. You can listen to their "Angel voices" at the Vienna Imperial Chapel every Sunday from mid-September until June and also to hundreds of concerts in the whole world.
Two in January 2009 made recordings with this (!) Schubertchor currently at my channel...:)
