The Su series are some bad ass planes and any dipshit on here talking about the F22 is invincible when it hasn't even been battle proven and its only success was against already obsolete f18's and f16 and F15's in which most of the engagments were with stealth activated.
Put a F22 up against newer model planses like the Typhoon and its a whole different story. As a matter of fact the F22 lost in a simulation against a Typhoon in a WVR dogfight. The only thing that saves the F22 is stealth
Stealth doesn't stand up very well to long wave radar anyway. Russia has been manufacturing and selling systems that can pinpoint these stealth aircraft since the F117A was shot down over Serbia.

as much as its gonna piss of people here in my honest opinion the f 22 a is still the best fighter around, it has a substantially smaller rcs than the su 35 and thus is more difficult to detect and in addition has a more advanced and sensitive radar albeit with a slightly shorter range these two factors alone make it clear to me at least that the f 22 a is ,if not the best fighter in the world ,is at least better than the su 35, again just my opinion

There were actually 2 Flankers with designation being Su-35. This one is the original Su-35. The other Su-35 uses a standard flanker airframe, called the Su-35BM. This Flanker uses a modified Flanker Airframe to fit the forward Canards. Thanks. Trust me, I did a 40 page ISU on the Flanker Family. A truely amazing aircraft.
Euro fighter typhoon have 9000 kg trust of each engen, Su 35 have 14500 kg of each engen Su is like Bugaty viron with Nisan micra. Typhoon can't do nothing better than Su 35, non others also. Su 35 is a King of the sky.
To emphasize that point, 20nm is a relatively close distance as far as missile combat is concerned. If two planes 20nm apart fly straight at each other going 400kts, it will still take them 4.5 minutes to pass. I imagine someone will be dead by then especially considering AIM120Ds have a 60mi range.

Russian weapon technology is 20+ years behind the west. The latest Russian fighters fly very well (if the engines have not broken down!), but still they would be shot down by western fighters without seeing what hit them. Manoeuverability is not essential for air superiority, it is just cool to watch!
The F-22 is sure the more modern concept and i guess it´s better in all "electronic things". It can go supercruise and the engines needs less fuel, i guess. Negative: It´s very expensive, and it can´t stay in a dogfight against a Sukhoi-35 (or 37, or 30MK, or Berkut -doesn´t matter.)
The Sukhoi is the older design - but: I would say they have made the very best of a conventional design. Perhaps the new Sukhois are the best non-stealth fighters. ( Others would say the Eurofighter is, but again: they are different.) And the Sukhois are -for sure!- the best fighters in a dogfight.
Only one thing is absolutly sure: The Sukhoi is the nicest fighter!

No one makes radar systems like Raytheon. The AN/APG-77 is the worlds most advanced put on any fighter. They dont call the Raptor a mini-awacs for no reason. The problem is the airframe. You can change the avionics, engines, etc and make it more lethal which they are doing constantly on all aircrafts. It will be way cheaper and faster. But the airframe wont offer you stealth. Everythings like that man allways changing in full "brand new" designs. Tones of reasons for it from greating more jobs to just sheer looks.

well they better hope so. if it boiled down to a war of attrition, I doubt the US DoD could afford to shell out another 200 million dollars for every plane shot down. I really don't think the F-22 is invincible. Plus stealth is only good when it's radar is off. Even an F-22 is a big blip on a radar when it's AESA is pumping out radar beams.
I'm an American, and even I don't like that plane. I would rather have beefed-up F-15s similar to what Russia does to the Su-27 family.

You don't have to make a brand new piece of hardware every time, just improve it. We had B-52s since the early 50s and they aren't going anywhere soon. I think they could come up with some pretty radical stuff in the coming years to make the F-15 into something that could obliterate anything that flies.

You are putting words in my mouth. I said nothing about MiG-21s or 1950s technology (I hate those by the way). All I'm saying is the Russians *know* that the F-22 is a badass motherfucker. So they would develop someway to inhibit its strong points.
I always thought a war against Russia would have to be one of attrition, especially if they went back to the old Soviet ways. Putting two superpowers against each other isn't a war that ends in two months. And the Iraqis were not Soviet Russia.

as much as its gonna piss of people here in my honest opinion the f 22 a is still the best fighter around, it has a substantially smaller rcs than the su 35 and thus is more difficult to detect and in addition has a more advanced and sensitive radar albeit with a slightly shorter range these two factors alone make it clear to me at least that the f 22 a is ,if not the best fighter in the world ,is at least better than the su 35, again just my opinion

There were actually 2 Flankers with designation being Su-35. This one is the original Su-35. The other Su-35 uses a standard flanker airframe, called the Su-35BM. This Flanker uses a modified Flanker Airframe to fit the forward Canards. Thanks. Trust me, I did a 40 page ISU on the Flanker Family. A truely amazing aircraft.

To emphasize that point, 20nm is a relatively close distance as far as missile combat is concerned. If two planes 20nm apart fly straight at each other going 400kts, it will still take them 4.5 minutes to pass. I imagine someone will be dead by then especially considering AIM120Ds have a 60mi range.

This Su37 a prototype of SuperFlanker with TVC and the hotas on the right side, the frist time ever in russian air army. Su 35 has no canards, has electronics and engines of PAKFA and it is only for export. Russia will buy PAKFA but not Su35

No, lol, you are wrong. They will take all Su27 and modernize it to the standart Su35, the new one. It will have some electronics of PAKFA and the new version of AL31FM engine.
It makes no sens to buy Su35 because PAKFA will be simply better. This is why Su35 is for export and this that money they will buy some PakFa and continue to develop it.

The Flanker series, F-15, F-16 and derivatives, Raptor, Lightning II, Rafale and Eurofighter are are top notch aircraft which are all better at some things than the others, but as a whole its hard to knock this bunch. Russian weapon technology is 20+ years behind the west. The latest Russian fighters fly very well (if the engines have not broken down!), but still they would be shot down by western fighters without seeing what hit them. Manoeuverability is not essential for air superiority, it is just cool to watch!

These Fighters are different.
The F-22 is sure the more modern concept and i guess it´s better in all "electronic things". It can go supercruise and the engines needs less fuel, i guess. Negative: It´s very expensive, and it can´t stay in a dogfight against a Sukhoi-35 (or 37, or 30MK, or Berkut -doesn´t matter.)

The Sukhoi is the older design - but: I would say they have made the very best of a conventional design. Perhaps the new Sukhois are the best non-stealth fighters. ( Others would say the Eurofighter is, but again: they are different.) And the Sukhois are -for sure!- the best fighters in a dogfight.
Only one thing is absolutly sure: The Sukhoi is the nicest fighter!

Nah, Suckoi has less thright to weight ration. It can not accelerate while going vertical like the F-15, F-22 can. THis plane is outdated, and isnt even considered as real threat against the F-22. Computer sime predict a 10:1 kill ratio against this big tin can.

You obviously haven't heard of Su-47 Berkut. That's the answer to the Raptor. I would say when the Russians come up with the final product it'll definitely be more than a match to the F-22. As far as F-15 is concerned your gov already admitted that anything from Su-27 and above are better than it. Its something I know difficult for you to accept but the fact is Russia for the longest time has been asking for contenders and noone was willing that oughta tell ya something.
