My second fave dog was Pure bred Golden Retreiver. He too wouldn't let go and was just as powerful.

We are talking about a breed of dog. Not a race or group of people. I am brave on the assumption that the safety of humans is more important than a damn dog. Pit Bull breeders are just as reckless and irresponsible as drunk drivers. We regulate guns so why not regulate owning dangerous animals? Guns don't kill people their owners do. Right? That fact that you own a pit and mention the word "attack" speaks volumes.
That quote also could apply to wisdom. I'm wise enough to know that if I come in contact with any dog that resembles a Pit Bull to run for my life. How does it serve me to have an open mind about pit bulls? I don't have to change my opinion and the knowledge, ignorant or not has kept me from being attacked by one. Ignorance owning or interacting with a dog with that kind of reputation. This applies to all dangerous animals.
A cognitive dysfunction also includes the inability to make rational decisions ie. a person that feels the need to own a dangerous animal at the risk of others. Sorry but there's way too much documented attacks by pit bulls to sway my opinion. Get yourself a nice Lab.

Pit bulls are not bad dogs in general. Some of them are agressive dogs because of how they are treated. If any dog was treated like some pitbulls, they'd most likely turn out the same way. I'm not saying this because I love pitbulls, my dog got attacked by one, but im not ignorant enough to think that ALL of them are that way.
