By the way, did anybody know that Del Shannon was the first artist ever to cover a Lennon/McCartney song ("From Me To To You") even before The Beatles came to the U.S.?
my middleschool teacher used to play a mixtape of good retro music in the classroom and whenever i hear one of those songs i smile and think of the best teacher i ever had. this song was the first one on the tape. who says kids learn better to classical music?
Rockin with the Dell our Mighigan's own, his songs within her now across the world sown, as seeds for posterity climbing to the heavens high, for you and I.Hope to see you again Dell ,so hold the gate till we arrive, rock on...
The problem is not that there is no good music anymore nowadays... I think there are still a lot of great musicians! The problem is that there is too much rubbish music at the same time and it gets too much credits... I dunno why is this but I still wonder!!! ^^
@kavlous No Elvis covered it, but Elvis is much younger...he sang this song in the 70's... this song debuted in 1961, but you gotta be either old or really savvy to know that, don't worry.
I live in Kansas City, MO, and when I was about in my elementary school days (I'm in high school now), they had a radio station called Oldies 95. Every night I would lay in bed and listen to sounds of the Fifties and Sixties, and everytime I hear an Oldie, I instantly think of those great nights. And I still love those good old Fifties sounds, man. All I want is an old Corvette and drive someplace blasting my speakers with this.
beach boys , , the platters- earth angel , little richard- long tall sally , thats the sorta oldies ive been listening last hour or so . there isnt a age barrier in music , i know old people who love techno nd goa trance :L
im only 15 and this is the first time ive actually heard this song yet im instantly starting to like it- this is good music; modern songs tend to dishearted me :(.
@drangogirlz Right on man, I'm seventeen and I grew up with this kind of music. But the think it you just aren't listening to good music... listen to Skinny Love by Bon Iver or The Funeral by Band Of Horses see if you like that.
@xxxindigo thank you, those songs are good. I like some modern music it is just so much of the music is similar to each other as they are trying to suit the target audience rather than create music that holds meaning, uniqueness or virtuosic elements. It is good to know i am not the only one that feel that way though.

@kavlous- Elvis did sing a version of this song but... Del Shannon wrote this song and recorded it first. His version went to #1 in 1961. Ron

this is a very nice song, i knw it from my brother , i don´t like the new music, with the technik and the loud drums it´s sooo awful.
