Another great Bowie song. He almost sounds like John Lennon in this song, and there are even Beatles-esque background vocals. In my mind Bowie's "Soul Love" is practially a companion piece to Lennon's "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" and both have saxophone solos...
Might a pervert not be lovable? Might not a pervert be lovable? Might a pervert be not lovable? Might a pervert be lovable not? Might not be lovable a pervert? Might not lovable a pervert be? Might not a lovable pervert be? Might a lovable pervert not be? A pervert might not be lovable? Lovable might not a pervert be? Lovable a pervert might not be? Lovable a pervert not might be? Be not lovable a pervert might?
@wpollock1 unfortunately, there are a lot of songs on the album that don't get their due. Honestly, I find it better that way. They are like treasures that you have to discover.
David? What do you mean, David? It's Mr. Bowie -- the greatest living stylist, bard and poet. Are we even on the same planet as Mr. Bowie? One day, I hope they invent the rocket to take us there.
OMG! I was watching this amazing man sing this song and so happy and BOOM! Stupid Owl City ad pops up singing and ruins it! 0-0 URRG! Oh well I LOVE YOU DAVID
Such a cool song. Mick Ronson was a great guitarist in his own right, but he was simply overshadowed by Bowie (I mean...who wasn't?)
On the "Ziggy Stardust" LP, this song fades out and then the band immediately crashes into "Moonage Daydream"....with no break ...about the 10 most exciting seconds in recorded rock. Bless you, David Bowie! You provided the soundtrack for my youth.
Wow, you've done a great job. I love this song, I think the lyrics are among the best that Bowie has written. Thank you so much for making & posting this!
Picture this. The stars are out in a clear night sky, the surf is crashing on the rocks below, the bush buds are being lit and Soul Love is cranking on the car stereo.
We're more alive that we've ever been. More connected to a happy high than one can imagine. I'm so glad I was there but I'd kill for a time machine right now.
favorite album of all time! grew up singing this and if i had to be on a desert island with only one album, this would be it. ah i looove this song. and im an alligator right after it just like botbagel said! best ever!
This and Rock and Roll Suicide have always been the highlights on the album for me. On a record that includes references to pink monkey bears, milk floats and fat skinny people its the simplicity of this song that really grabs you. Raw human emotion.
LOL Rudy! why didn't you tell me you put this together along with the other vid of Moz? xD Keep up the good work, I don't think I've heard this song, I agree it's very underrated! Woot David Bowie foreverrr! xoxoxoxoxxo
Soul Love one of my favorites too. I could swear this is "John, I'm Only Dancing" video. Thanks for the upload.
