I loved Eddie from before "COKE TIME" and felt terrible when he left DEBBIE REYNOLDS,like DEAN AND JERRY BREAKING UP ABOUT THE SAME TIME!!!OH how one wishes life could have been different, but alas life by its very nature disappoints and without hope in JESUS CHRIST is HOPELESS!!
This is a great Eddie Fisher song. He also recorded a song called I Heard A Song, I don't think it was a hit like this one, but I have it on a CD called I Heard A Song, and it shows off his magnificent voice. It may have been the early 1950s, I am way too young to remember but I have loved Eddie since I was a teen. It would be nice to have someone put it on here so Eddie's fans who have never heard it, could enjoy it.
He was blessed with a magnificent voice, and his songs were timeless in their quality. How many times did a girl friend of mine and I have an Eddie song as "our song"!
I have to be in agreement with ChicagoSouthDan. down below..Eddie Fisher -( the man who put a gun to Liz Taylor's head | Mail Online) google this in...sad!!
One thing I will say is unlike Frank, if Dean poked fun at someone it was usaully because he liked them and had an admiration for them. He poked fun at Tony Bennet in his stage act at times and yet had an admiration for Bennet who appeared on Dean's show a couple of times. Fisher also appeared on Dean's show and you could tell there was a strong comradery between the two.
does anyone have Eddie singing I Dont Hurt Anymore. F/s and D/m wouldnt be able to handle this one. Also, Dont Stay away to Long. come on you eddie fans, see if you can help. Thanks terry.
Does anyone have eddie fisher singing Everybody's Got a Home but Me? I used to hear it played in the car and could relate to it just a little too much at that time. thanks
@lukasnummer1 I was not aware that they did that. Did they make fun of his singing or his personal life (his leaving Debbie Reynolds for Liz Taylor and then her leaving him for Richard Burton, etc.)? He said in an interview that his marriage with Debbie was ending anyway before he got together with Liz, but I don't know if that's true or not. It seems as if his career was hurt a lot more when he divorced Debbie than Liz Taylor's career was, even though she was the other woman.
@ChicagoSouthDan They were mainly making fun of his singing! Dean Martin said once in one of his shows something like "I need my whiskey and those cigarettes to be Dean - without these things, I´m only Eddie Fisher!" (audience laughed), and Sinatra said: "The topic of our evening today is ´rythm´. Without rythm your heart wouldn´t beat, so rythm is what holds our lifes together. Without it you would lie at your couch at home listening to Eddie Fisher records the whole day!"(audience laughed)
Eddie was an integral part of my childhood. His singing went right to my heart and I used to wish that I was him. I sang his songs a thousand times with my father who played the piano. This is a major loss. He had the purist voice of all time and when I hear it on these videos I am transported to myself as a child singing my heart out. He was better than all the others. I am very sad.
Love ya Eddie- I was so sorry to hear of your passing. Thank you very much for the enjoyment you brought to so many. Go with God, and may you find eternal peace.
@vivianechevarria1 Perhaps you are confusing him with Dean Martin. I think the Rat Pack consisted of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Joey Bishop, and (occasionally) Peter Lawford. I don't think Eddie Fisher ever belonged to it.
How I wish I could turn back the hands of time...........I was just singing "I am 16 going on 17........." Ah........how time flies so fasssssssssssst. But so be it...."youth is not a time of life....it is a state of mind....that matters....noboody grows old by merely living a number of years.....people grow old only by deserting their ideals.....years wrinkle the skin but to give up enthusiasm wrinkle the soul..........".
great diction

It´s not that I love Eddie Fisher too much, he´s okay, but I really don´t understand why Dino and Frank were always making fun of him...

Amen. They say that it's a pity that youth is wasted on the young. If so, it's also a pity that age is wasted on the old. If you knew then.......

Great song. This IS the best version, not the more recent ones of the same name but different song., e.g Tyrone Davis and R. Kelly
