wow ok so anybody who listens to the official IncubusVEVO of this first will tell u, that version sucks so much dick, but for some strange this version is incredible
Sweet album. Bought it. (Much better hearing the real thing). It's growing on (in?) me but I still can't help hearing this track as a single released from a Lloyd-Webber stage show. It's even got the semi-cheesy chord change ;¬D
The first time I heard this song, I thought to myself: "Man, this is epic!" Then I said to myself, "Oh, wait... it's Incubus. What should I expect but a bowl full of epicness?"
This song paints an intense picture of a life that one should aspire to, and a sense of epicness, kinda like that which 30 Seconds seems to be completely immersed in. Only Incubus approaches it in a more warm, whispy, sweeping and romantic way than 30stm. Brandon is friends with Jared Leto, I wonder if that has anything to do with the apparent overlap.
my brother was listnening to this song but i did not know what band or who sang this..so while hearing it i caught some of the lyrics and typed it on youtube and i got the shock of my life when Incubus came out....i;ve been listening to incubus for almost 10 years and i did not come across this great sad song...
If you think this song is boring or cheesy try playing it after someone close to you passes away and I promise you will cry like a baby. Unless you have no emotions whatsoever and in that case you're probably a jackass.

You can tell Brandon really doesn't give a damn and it's a genuinely bold move, but I find this song to be cheesy as hell. I've been there during the entire, and not just the Science era, and this album feels like a missed opportunity. It's not that the songs are badly performed, I find them really boring. And I loved Morning View and Light Grenades.

been a super hardcore incubus fan since i was practically a fetus and iv'e loved everything they've done but this album is just terrible musically. it's so boring and nothing really jumps out at me, i'm surprised Mike even put some gain on his guitar in this track. The one thing that I am enjoying is Brandon's voice though, he sure can sing huh?
The tragedy is that incubi do exist and succubi and that is not the goal of much of the bands music, the name certainly does not fit. Anyone with experience in the occult and esoteric practices knows the sinister reality of incubi and succubi, although there are many worse demons. They are in the Astral plane and beyond.
I think Incubus made a rather... Bold move with this album. It was a sort of change of their pace. But, from that, you can tell who the true fans are. They'll stick with Incubus even if their music changes. (As I have as well. They're a great band and always will be.)
Beautiful. The band evolves with each album. But, the name Incubus is a gross band name for such beautiful music. They said, "Call it Incubus? Sure, whatever..." (smokin pot 15 years ago)
@MGibsonian 20 so years ago the band chose the name Incubus because they had to think of a name before performing at a friends party, Mike was looking through a thesaurus and found the word Incubus "A spirit that seduces women while they are sleeping" and they went with it, probably like you said, while smoking pot haha
this album in my opinion is way too much about brandon. his voice blocks out the instruments too much. you might as well call this album self titled brandon boyd
@mmaguire0601 I am sure that if that was really the case then the rest of the band would not have agreed to make the album. Perhaps if you knew they guys in the band you could she some true light on this subject.
i HATED this song even after listening to the album 30 times over...but ONCE i heard it at their concert in phx Oct 5, i absolutely fell in love...i was entranced in the voice of brandon and the perfect mix of music from incubus as a whole. awesome sound...and it is so rare to find an amazing singer now adays in popular bands. love this song
@scudgejockey its not about death at all man. It's about taking care of your duties, dreams, and aspirations at this very moment and not waiting until tomorrow. Thus song is soley based on some ancient thinkers' beliefs, I forget the name. Brandon is a pretty deep dude, lots of meaning in the songs.
@swingingfriend1999 It's about God and Heaven- no umbrellas, no sunglasses- It is written there is no sun in Heaven for the Light of God lights the Heavens!
@swingingfriend1999 yes, Rev 21:23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
@bluebman52 I think alot of the Incubus albums are that ways is cuz they have a unique sound that no other band has so its new when you first hear it. The it grows on you :)
