Truly Classic. Those of us who grew up with this stuff or have real taste in music will never forget what real country music is. I pity those who have the nerve to label Taylor Swift or Rascal Flatts country. Ol' Waylon was one of the all time greats. He was one of my favorites along with with Bocephus, The Possum and Conway. But, Don Williams version of this song is better in my opinion. It is close, but Williams edges it out.

Ol' Waylon was one of the all time greats. He was one of my favorites along with with Bocephus, The Possum and Conway. But, Don Williams version of this song is better in my opinion. It is close, but Williams edges it out.

i live this song , i am now 44 and from the first time i heard this it has been my favorite, i even named my daughter amanda after this,, i loved listening to my dad and uncle in kentucky sing these songs, now those were the good days. no stress of living in the city.

I've seen the man sing this song when I was about 15 or 16 years old. Best experience ever, and it truely did bring tears to my eyes to witness such a great and legendary performer. Love ya Waylon! RIP....
