  • thanks dude great video !!

  • dada life sausage fatner!

  • i glanced at the title and thought it said mixing and masturbating btw how much is this program i wanna start making dubstep and shit like that without using free, crappy programs

  • hi, I'm a noob...lol. so by putting each instrument on a track, you can use different effects on them...and do you recommend putting each instrument on a track?

  • @chelle315

    I highly recommend that!

  • @TylerClarkOfficial Ok, thank you. :)

  • THANKS SO!! YOU'RE MY HERO! NOW I'M GONNA MAKE SOME TRACKS! GREETINGS FROM ARGENTINA

  • At 18:30, can't you just run a compressor on the master track with the ceiling at -3 db so you don't have to reset the track volume for all the tracks?

  • never put your kicks up like that. add compressors to them dont turn them up

  • Incredibly helpful - exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks Tyler.

  • thanks....this video really helped me out alot because i use fl studio too and i couldnt figure out the right way to do all that....u should make more videos like this !!!! and if u have time check out some of my stuff on youtube @spookyfbaby1

  • Great video man, really informative, I can't wait to use these techniques. I've never used the Parametric EQ2 yet and this really makes me excited to try it out!

  • nice lecture tyler.. i listened all tru..but had problem with your demo beat.. it shoulda been better than this... something sweeter :) but i learnt alot..... Oxygenjay (Nigeria)

  • I listened through. :O

  • VERY HELPFUL

  • ok but the track is orrible

  • Big up on the label!!:D

  • A long ass informative vid.. thanks

  • My tip for you is instead of using 2 parametric EQs, Press the for example EQ button 1 and change it to Highpass filter then you cut off the lowend to 100%

  • This was very helpful bro, listened to the whole thing

  • Personally I think it is all down to people ears. Some people hear everything very clearly. Some people its all mud. Ear wax.

  • Thanks Ty, Mixing has been a grind at learning everything. Thanks for the basics.

  • Really helpful video man, subscribed

  • I find that, making sure while everything is playing, it hits -3db to create some headroom (before mastering). Making it go past that mark is considered "hot" and usually creates unwanted artifacts in your final sound, and also makes the tune sound "smashed". Using a maximizer and other bits (during mastering) will fill the headroom to 0db, not kill the dynamics of the tune, and it will sound full and clear. Also rolling off below 30hz and above 18khz - 20khz to make more room during mixdown.

  • did you actually make a song out of this?

  • tons of help man! thanks!

  • Thanks bro! it really helped

  • thanks man watched it all gave me a lot of tips thanks

  • I learned alot man thanks!

  • this video is helpful i was wondering if u could subscribe cause i wanted to start making some tracks and ur crticism and tips would be helpful so thx

  • I recorded my vocals but i can't find it on the mixer :(

  • I listened!!!! :D I appreciate this...i wanted to record a song for my gf...and knowing nothing, i decided to try all this stuff on my own. But i wanted it to sound as good as possible...this'll definitely help.

  • Pretty awesome!

  • Side chain all dayyy erra dayyy.

  • I listen to the End:-)! Great tips & good job! Merry Christmas & Greet from Holland:-)!

  • Thank you very very very very very very very very much

  • You Awsome . Approve me in youre facebook ! :);)

  • Dude this helps so much, there are a lot of mechanics to music that I'm sure lots of people aren't aware of. Keep the beats coming 8D

  • Hey how did you get the playlist to show "Pattern" on mine it only shows "Track 1,2,3,etc."

  • I like to mix without a limiter on the master track, because when you get levels with the limiter active, turning one thing down will cause everything else to turn up.

  • thanks bro, watched it all

  • Great tutorial man, thanks so much ;D I watched the absolute WHOLE thing.

  • watched every second!!

  • LMFAO... nice mastering technique. Don't lie, you love the sausage

  • thanks his really help a lot!!

  • I watched the whole video :)

  • lol this sounds like a fun beat to dance

  • Why not just do a quick release sidechain to the bass? BTW i really like this vid. Taught me a heck of a lot.

  • I wish I knew what like all the levels db, hz and all that so it can sound clear and nice. You should make a video talking about all that like the basics of a kick where it should be around in the levels etc. if there already isnt a video like that >.<

  • im having a problem when i download it and go to open it its says This program cannot be run in DOS mode do u know what to do

  • gave me a great idea of what to do , i can finally hear my songs clearly thanks

  • nice, ty

  • for master i use maximus and soundgoodizer to boost the sound more without messing up the levels of the sounds

  • 20:45 awesome dude O_O

  • half way through and I've learned something new :D thanks a lot man

  • Can you remake a beat?

  • thanks for the vid

  • thanks for the tutorial ,really appreciate it, but i got some questions tho

1)Dont you have to pan ?

2)dont you have to put the bass and kick in mono and some things in stereo

  • I listened to the whole thing. Now, give me a giftcard!

Nah i'm kidding. Thanks man. Simple, easy to understand. Keep it up! :)

  • great vid man you helped me learn alot more and my tracks sound sick as hell where do they have contests?

  • i listened to the whole thing, thanks man!

  • tnks man helped me alot

  • Nice work, well done!

  • great vid mate, very helpful watched all the way lol one of the best tuts on here

    all the best

  • Thx man ... very helpful vid.. i hope it will bring me to a higher mastering level , but i do Metalmusik with a Vst plug in called ezdrummer - drumkit from hell. there you got a seperated mixer in it ... anyway can i eQ this again in the mixer ?? also got probs with my line in signal from my git and bassguitar .. i ve tryed to manage the levels using th db meter .. but the loudness seems to switch everytime i select a diffrent channel .. ? got an idea what i mean . ? thanks again

  • Great video man :D, I'm starting to learn a little bit more now :D.

  • Hi, I listened to the whole video. Very informative, well done!

  • Thanks so much been playing records since 97. SO I have a pretty good ear but this helped so much with using the interface to get the desired sound I was looking for thanks again

  • i really appreciate the help thanks alot man personally i would turn the lead down a bit more. but still like the vid and the help :)

  • CAN U DO A TUTORIAL ON MAXIMUS ?

  • @giroyagetme

    That's a really good idea!

  • @TylerClarkOfficial cheers man just started using it and it does seem to really bring the song out but ..... obviously im not og tripple on it lol so any help u got would be sweet .... i try to make boom bappy hip hop undergroud beats i got a few uploaded check em out when u got time any advice u got to make em super sexy would be apreciated big time thanks man

  • @giroyagetme Software like that just sucks. If you work hard enough you can get your mix to sound better by itself than doing a mediocre mix and relying on software to do the rest of the work. Not trying to be a dick but yeah. Just saying

  • @c32linder NAH BRUV manz appreciate real talk standard

  • @giroyagetme

Hey, Maximus isn't a cheap, mediocre tool like that guy said lol. I know a lot of guys that use it and can use it well. I know the basics of it and if you EQ, mix, and have your track set right then Maximus can be an amazing tool to bring the track to it's full potential. Though, the guy is right on his own too. If you do a great mix it can sound just as good (if not better) than what maximus could add in some cases.

  • @giroyagetme I just can't get my mixes to sound any better with software like that. It makes them sound worse no no matter what I do so I just keep it simple with a few special eq's

  • @tylerclarkofficial great vid......make a mastering vid pls!!!!

  • Great information man, keep up these videos and you'll win the contest next time.

PS : I listened until the end

  • Thanks a lot man !

  • really good video

  • sweet video man! the best one i've seen so far!

  • Thanks fro the tut, I've been playing around with EQs for a while now, but never full understood them until now.

Now I just need to learn more about Mastering my songs.

  • argh the song is so loud when you play it. i pump the volume up to hear you and then BRUM BRUM BURMBRUM

  • Great Video!!!!!

  • thanks for the befriending and this gives me a new aspect to makin music. will def improve my works. thanks dude

  • I Feel like you saved my life

  • I listened to the whole thing! Now I wanna start learning how to use the program that you used :<

I feel as though I've learned a lot, and I feel as though I should try something new! c:

  • This is amazing, i listened to the full 26 minutes haha

  • Nice vid i´ve been making music for years and could never mix it to the highest quality but you have taught me a few things its neva to late ti learn thank you

  • lol @26:05

  • Thumbs up! Keep these up. We all get busy, your subs (self included) love you.

  • watched it all, good stuff, subscribed

  • This is a great video, very intuitive! I learnt a lot.

  • alll good db that is a hug bro

  • You're not a professional? Your music speaks otherwise x3 thnx I just installed this so exteremely helpful

  • @TylerClarkOfficial This is the most amazing video on youtube. Home studio producers, myself included, are now, more than ever, taking on the complete role of production from beatmaking to mixing and mastering. I've never found such a detailed explanation of the EQ2, adjusting levels, etc. I personally kinda wing it since I run a home studio operation, so I adjust panning and volume levels but never this in depth. Thank you so much for the tips and trick. Maybe a mastering version of this?

  • @Loc2LocBeatz

Good to hear! Glad I could help :). I may do one on mastering in the future... not sure though. I'll have to find a way to master using something everyone has in FL Studio.

  • @Loc2LocBeatz WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MOUTH LOL

  • Watched whole thing! Great Video bro! SUBSCRIBED!

  • Dude, no voting button?/?

  • @MrDarkcloudBeats

The contest is over, I didn't win lol. I started promoting way too late. I came in like 30 something out of around 1000 other producers so I'm pleased about that!

  • i made it thru nice vid man

  • That's so good that you got your tracks on beatport! I'm trying to get into producing but there is so much to learn. I made a few tracks, 2 on my channel. If you read this, do you have any tips for producing and finding the right sound or the best vst for progressive/dubstep? Love your work

  • nice video ...

  • I watched it all! nice vid!

  • Can the demo version be saved?

  • Is that really FL ten? I run FL 9 still and it looks the same xD

  • @WolfgangHalldorson

Yea, I set the setting back so it looked like FL9. You can fit 2x more on the old slim mixer tracks than on the new wide ones.

  • @TylerClarkOfficial how do you set it back to look like old one?

  • @WolfgangHalldorson_ Fl ten has more mixer sounds then 9

  • @TylerClarkOfficial noo um i am pretty sure tht isnt his name haha. srry for the mix up i love ur mixes keep it up :)

  • great video, actually watched the whole thing!

  • you got my vote where you want it pall

    thanx very much

i have no studies but i allways notice this problem when i was working with fl studio and i didn´t knew how to solve it.

  • tyler im not sure but my friend says he nos u. he is really good at mixing and remixing i think he helped u out on the katy perry mix u did. idk where im going with this, oh well i love ur work and i would like to start mixibg myself :)

  • Been doing this for 4 years on and off... it's a good tut man. Every little tip you give expands the understanding for those of us that don't know everything. Good job.

  • Great video, and I voted for your song, too. Don't get me wrong, it's not because you told me to, it's because the song owns.

  • Good tut man, but you underestimate your tutorials a lot! Theyre good, don't worry ;)

  • I just love to sit and watch on this or any video you have uploaded. I'm very new to FL Studio and i'm learning myself to do "dubstep". Is there any chance that you can teach me a little, what plugins i need and so on? Please answer me mate :) And sorry for my bad english, i'm from sweden ;>

  • lol the sausage!

  • Love your stuff Tyler, good luck!

  • lol, sausage fatner.... =) great vid. 1 question; when your mixing a track, do u use a compressor on the master channel? if so, what atk/rls threshold/ratio settings do u use?

  • @realcoolking95

I use all sort of tricks like that. But usually I put nothing on the master other than a Limiter. Which is a compressor but at like a 1:1 ratio maybe? I might be wrong but a limiter acts like a brick wall, slamming all the sound in to it and does not let anything past the point of your set celining (or threshold). I know a lot of people use a multiband compressor on the master but I have no clue how to set honestly lol.

  • @TylerClarkOfficial ah, thanks for answering my comment mate. =)

  • Sausage fattener! Lol is it like soundgoodizer? Is a cheap compressor?

  • I really liked your tutorial, mastering has always been my weak spot! Learned a some good stuff today, thanks.

  • Cool video. I have found that it is much easier to get a good mix by bringing all the faders down and then bringing them all up one by one in order of harmonic importance (ie. kick first, then bass, then next most powerful element, etc.) until you get the perfect mix.

:D Good video. You explain things well.

  • I did it!!!!

  • Made it to the end easily. Keep 'm coming.

  • I MADE IT THROUGH I HAVE ACHIEVED TOTAL VICTORY!

  • Yeah I listened to the wholde thing :D great help. Thanks :)

  • I got that far :D Really good tutorial btw! You should do an advanced one too! Awesome idea with the prizes too :)

  • Thx this helped me get the hang of Fruity Loops

  • lol your lucky i have 7 Emails lol and i got you

  • nice tutorial. btw what is the lead that you are using here?

  • i listened to the whole thing and voted :P gl man hope to hear more

  • listened to the whole thing and got to say are styles of mastering are not to far off. I use Izotope Ozone 3 and Izotope Alloy to master now adays but in the end it still comes down to the leveling on my limiter and I try to get my volume and depth to sound at the exact level true mastered tracks sound at cirten volume increments on my 5.1 sourround I mix on :)

  • Do you think that the Behringer HPS3000 headphones are good neough for producing? great tutorial btw!

  • @adri50q For sure! Any type of sutdio headphone whether it be lower end like those Behringers or higher end like Seinhiser (or however you spell it). Here's my theory on monitors and headphones: I believe there is a point where they all sort of plateu. By that I mean there is a big difference in between a $100 pair of monitors and a $500 pair of monitors, BUT between the $500 and the $1000 there isn't much difference. Honestly, I will never have anything super high end unless it's given to me.

  • @TylerClarkOfficial Thanks!

  • Cool of you to do this TC, good for all the kids out there - Tristan

  • Great tutorial! :)

  • 11th! and thank u so much for tutorial
